• Value, service, staff, cleanliness.
• Need a car to get around.

“A family of four, we've stayed here several times, 3-5 days each. For a moderate priced hotel, HGI had fairly new furnishings, larger rooms than several others we've visited, the room was very clean. You need a car to easily visit local attractions like Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and Water country USA, but overall the hotel is one of our favorites for value, service, and comfort.”

• The overall appearance of the hotel was clean and pleasing to the eye.

“The Hilton Garden Inn was a good investment for the time that my family spent there. If my family had used the room more than the room would have been to small, but the bathroom was very clean and fresh linens were supplied without asking. I would stay there again if I returned to Williamsburg, it was a welcoming place.”

• The air-conditioning worked.
• Room reservations were not guaranteed which came as a surprise.

“The Hilton garden inn of Williamsburg is not worth the money that we played to stay there. We were on our honeymoon and had thought we had reserved a room with a king bed. We got there and checked in and found 2 double beds in the room. The front desk told us that there was no guarantee on room requests. I stay in about 5 hotels a year and have never heard anything like that. It took my fiancé saying that we could just stay somewhere else for them to even start to look for a room with a king bed. They put us in a handicapped room which had a half tub which did not even have a flat bottom. There was no offer of something more suitable if it were to become available later in the week.”

• There are only four floors, so it's a human scale.
• The furniture in the suite was a bit long in the tooth.

“There are some great things about this hotel; friendly staff, free wireless internet in the room, small indoor pool & hot tub, nice restaurant in the lobby. My only negative experience was that my wake-up call didn't happen either morning that I was there. I was running late and the taxi was slow in coming, so the hotel manager drove me in her car to my meeting. What a nice person!”

• Staff were very courteous and helpful; hotel was very clean.
• Difficult to see from the road until you pass it.

“We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful with suggestions on where to go, how to get there, etc. It is very convenient to surrounding attractions. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.”
