“We loved it!” May 22, 2008 by
Kim from Chesapeake, VA
“My husband and I decided to plan a last minute weekend getaway to Williamsburg, Virginia to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Powhatan Plantation seemed to be a good fit, since we were looking for somewhere to relax and have some privacy, but still be close to all the local attractions. Upon arrival, the man at the front gate was very courteous. He directed us to where we needed to go to check-in. The grounds were gorgeous. Check-in was quick, although in order to get your parking pass you will have to go through a person who will try to get you to go to Powhatan Plantation's timeshare presentation. We opted not to. As we arrived at our "townhouse" we noticed there were 3 large mattresses blocking our only designated parking space. My husband had to move them as there was no one else there to do it. The suite was very clean and seemed to be nicely kept, except for the garden tub and private Jacuzzi, which both had very noticeable signs of wear. Everything was in good working order though, and the bed was comfy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and we wish we could have stayed a bit longer.” May 15, 2008 by

“Many lights not work, smoke detector kept going off (bad battery), people above us very loud at night, patio door lock broken. Not an enjoyable stay. Will not stay there again.” Mar 26, 2008 by

“It is a great place to stay with a group of people. Has a full kitchen and is close to supermarket & other stores. And most importantly close to Busch Gardens.” Jul 13, 2007 by

“We ran into several issues while staying here on vacation (broken air conditioner, my son was injured, etc.). When we tried to address them with the resort manager, he waited 1 and a half days to call back. I never got to talk to him. The staff were not very accommodating---they could have cared less, unless you are an owner at that resort. Overall, it's run down and not very clean.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 26, 2007 by

“The resort is in the midst of being updated. The room was a bit tired but very nice. Staff was a little disorganized.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Oct 26, 2006 by

“The one bedroom with loft is a great deal for families with small children. However, there are some strange things about the furniture in the loft. The mattresses do not fit the beds and the beds are falling apart. Watch out for that. Light bulbs were out and missing everywhere, so housekeeping is not doing a great job. They are in the process of updating some of the units, but there is no way to say which you will get. They are decent and roomy units; they just have a few problems. The kids loved it there and it was great having the privacy of 2 bedrooms at a one bedroom price!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 20, 2006 by

“This was our first visit, and it went beyond our expectations. It was so beautiful and warm and inviting. The staff was wonderful. You walked in and felt like you were at home. The suite had all the comforts of home and more. We are definitely going back. I believe we have found our new get away.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 24, 2006 by

“Although I've seen many shaky reviews, we went there with my 2 children, and it was lovely, nice grounds, pleasant accommodations, loved the hot tub. I would go back.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 31, 2006 by

“Although the overall rating for this stay was not negative, we had a few issues. My husband called the day before and asked if we could check in early. He was told yes, and to arrive at 2 pm. We planned our departure accordingly, arrived at registration at 2 pm, and were not allowed to check in. The receptionist told my husband he must not have called there because check in is at 4 pm. One of the reasons we chose this hotel is the sauna that was advertised on your site, as we love saunas. However, there was no sauna to be found. We had to call for laundry detergent because there was no starter supply given as promised. There was also a slight small ant problem in the living room. I had at least one ant crawl on me each day while sitting on the couch.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 9, 2006 by

“This is not a hotel, it is actually a resort. It was very pleasant, my kids had a ball in their 3 pools (1 indoor, 2 outdoor). The grounds are well kept. Major attractions are less than 30 minutes away from the resort. Overall my family and I enjoyed ourselves and would go back to the same location.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
