• Convenient, basic room, good price through Priceline.
• On Saturday night, there was a party in the room next door and they kept us up most of the night.

• Free breakfast for Priority Club members. Fluffy towels.
• Musty smelling room. Older, small TV.

“Nothing special here but hotel served its purpose for one night. Entire chain undergoing renovation but this one has not yet been upgraded. I would probably stay here again but would look elsewhere first.”

• Excellent location, attractive lobby, helpful and friendly staff.

“This was a perfect hotel for business or family reunions. The staff was very professional & helpful. The hotel was in a very convenient location, safe and away from busy traffic. The pool was very nice. I would stay in this hotel again. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.”

• There was nothing.
• Hated everything about it.

“The pool was cloudy with no water movement, the sauna was broken and the whirlpool was tepid at best and sorely in need water, the jets were spitting drops of water everywhere while trying to work. Also called holiday inn 800 number and was given no assistance at all. The staff was not friendly, for all of our complaining was given a $20.00 breakfast coupon which didn't even cover the cost of 2 breakfast buffets with coffee and a soda. There are no elevators; the hallways are dark and dingy. The whole experience was awful!”

• Not at all clean.

“I stayed there for a night with a family. The hotel just carries Holiday Inn name but doesn't have any sign of Holiday Inn quality. Hotel was really unclean and hallways were stinking. Toilet flush was leaking as well. Which was repaired by a service guy in 15 minutes. Overall, this could be at best 2 start hotel. No way this could be 3 star.”

• Inexpensive, free WiFi! Cute Putt-Putt and pool.
• A little far from highway and too far from our destination.

“Great value. It has free WiFi, and a indoor complex of Putt-Putt, pool, hot tub (which was out of order the first night we stayed) and an small exercise room. It's too far from Hershypark though, 45 minutes. If for some reason you need to stay in York, PA, I would recommend this hotel.”

• I liked the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room.
• I did not like that the pool was only 4ft deep, and the box spring on the bed kept falling.

“I enjoyed that this hotel was close to a lot of attractions, as well as the size and cleanliness of the room. Unfortunately, our bed's box spring was broken and kept falling at night. However, the rest of the hotel seemed very well maintained and nice.”

• Superlative staff -- went 110% for anything I needed.
• Toilet overflowed, soaking bathroom and endangering bedroom; took 20 minutes to get anyone upstairs to fix it.

“The hotel has clearly been renovated and is in far better shape. I was very disturbed by the difficulty with the bathroom, which brought my rating down from excellent to good. They'd also do well to put in an elevator.”

• This hotel was excellent. Had a nice restaurant and a lot of activities for my children. We really enjoyed the indoor pool and mini golf course.
• The only thing that I did not like was the rude housekeeper on the first day but after talking to her boss she was much nicer.

“Next time I am in town visiting this will be my first choice of hotels to stay at in York.”

• The restaurant staff tried hard.
• Maids only came when requested (and then showed up at about 7pm) and barely cleaned, then left 8 sets of sheets and wouldn't remove them from room.

“I would not recommend under any circumstances. The hotel staff could not have been less interested in customer service, mostly lip service. I have traveled extensively, both in the country and internationally and can say this was the single worst experience I have ever had in a brand-name hotel. Holiday Inn, never again.”

• Very dated, not clean, in poor condition.

“My bed stand had packets of pepper in it - was obviously never opened by hotel housekeeping. Handset next to bed was not the correct size -someone replaced it without looking and it wouldn't even hang up properly. Large section of tile missing from hallway going in to side door. Hallway carpet was not clean. Strange smell. Very dissatisfied with this being rated in the class it was in - unacceptable!”

• Common rooms attractive. Restaurant good. Staff nice & helpful.
• No elevator. Room not cleaned. Restaurant expensive.

“This is a good place to stay for one night on the first floor. There are no elevators and full trash bags are left in the second floor halls for extended periods of time. My room was not cleaned. The bed was comfortable & heat & air are easily adjustable. If the price is right & the negatives don't bother you, go for it.”

• The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly, and it appeared to be a great place for kids.
• There are two Holiday Inn's in York. We went to the other one first, so it was a little confusing.

• Beautiful lobby; breakfast buffet; service; indoor pool.
• Window over one area of pool cracked from one side to the other since the last time we stayed. Dangerous - needs to be replaced.

• Shower was nice our room had new mattresses. Our friend's room had gross old ones!
• The indoor pool area is in an awful location. Too noisy, starting at 7 AM and not stopping till midnight.

“I've never been to a hotel like this before. All of the rooms had 2 entrances which surrounded the indoor pool/hot tub, gym, and ping pong area. The walls are not insulated so you can hear everything that's going on in the pool while you're trying to watch TV/sleep. We had to turn the TV volume up all the way and still couldn't hear! I wouldn't stay there again. Oh, and the humidity from the pool and hot tub is so extreme, all of the room windows are fogged up! just a really bad layout. Only good for families wanting to throw a child's birthday party for a cheap price!”

• I did not get the room that I was suppose to, but the staff did try to accommodate me on the next day.
• The breakfast buffet was a joke, you could get better food at McDonalds.

• The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and staff was extremely helpful.
• It was a little difficult to find, but once we got the proper directions it was fine.

• It was convenient for my business.
• The room overlooked the pool, which was very loud and made the room smell of chlorine.

“The design of this aging hotel, with the rooms around a central courtyard pool, meant that the inside rooms were very noisy until the pool closed and smelled strongly of chlorine. The layout of the hallways and number of the rooms were the most confused that I have ever encountered. The pillows were so big and hard that I could not use them. The staff was friendly and everything was pleasant, but I can't fathom how this hotel could be rated 3 stars.”

• I liked the kids meals were included.
• Hours for pool. We were out all day and wanted to relax at night but the pool was closing.

• Hard to focus on the good.
• From the moment my crew arrived it seemed to them that they were not welcome there!

“I believed it to have been an overall nice hotel, but when it is very obvious that you are not welcome to stay there, it's not good. I cancelled the remainder of my stay after one night. A stall member may say that she was following hotel policy, but from some of her statements she made to me and crew it seemed to be a little more.”

• The mattress was comfortable.
• The bathroom was unvested; room had no window to the outside, and stank.

“Downside: we had one of the rooms that faced the recreational area with the indoor pool, spa, etc. These rooms have no window to the real outside, so they are dark, have no access to fresh air, and the only way to cool the room was to use a fan which brought in moist, chlorine filled air. The bathroom had no vent, and the rooms stank of stale cigarettes and used bathrooms. The box springs had large, dark red and brown stains running down the sides looked like someone had been murdered there. The TV belonged in a museum. Upside: the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom was clean.”

• The heater was very noisy.

“This hotel for the price was convenient for my visit to York. The staff was friendly, and rooms were clean and well kept. I was woken many times by people walking and talking in the halls, and I had to turn off the heater since it was a very noisy unit. I would not say that it was a 3 star hotel, but rather a 2.5 compared to many others that I have stayed in.”

“This is your average holiday inn from the 1970's. This is not a 3-star hotel. There was new linen but the rest seems outdated. Vending machines were sold out on our floor. No elevator there were wild, unattended children racing thru the halls until after 11 pm. The sink drained very slowly. The old faucet on the shower made it impossible to set the water temperature. The room was so dry, we all got throat and nose irritations.”

“This hotel is a little out of date decor and furniture wise but the hotel bar/lounge was great very nice and helpful staff. Just the bed was past its prime and not very comfortable and the TV was outdated so the picture was fuzzy, had we paid the regular price for the hotel I would have been very upset.”

• I liked the indoor pool and whirlpool. The exercise room was a nice plus.
• My room was not ready at check in time.

“We had a pleasant one night stay at this hotel. Since we did not know the area, arriving at the hotel/finding it was a little tricky. The main downside to the hotel is that the room was not ready at check in time. We had to kill an hour at wall mart before the room was ready. Some of the games in the Holidome such as the ping pong table need to be updated as it looked like it would fall apart soon.”

• The bar area was the only nice place within.
• The bed sheets needed replacing badly.

“The bed sheets where worn out could see old stains. The carpet in the room was worn and dirty. There was no soap/shampoo/conditioner in bathroom. Lots of maintenance issue with this hotel. Thanks anyway for trying to make this work. The hotel has a nice bar.”

• Location was good if you don't want to be close to town.
• I never felt it was clean up to the usual Holiday Inn standards.

“We had to request to be moved from the first room because there were urine drips on the toilet seat and the one bed was made in such a way as to give the appearance that the sheets had not been changed. Seemed more like a room that had been straightened up for a two-night stay by one guest. The iron didn't work. The shams on the beds were dirty although the pillow cases looked clean. The front desk staff was very nice and professional.”
