• The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and staff was extremely helpful.
• It was a little difficult to find, but once we got the proper directions it was fine.

“Hotel was clean and comfortable. Towels were great! The staff was very helpful and even tried to find me super glue when I broke the heel of my shoe. I would definitely stay here again.”

• It was convenient for my business.
• The room overlooked the pool, which was very loud and made the room smell of chlorine.

“The design of this aging hotel, with the rooms around a central courtyard pool, meant that the inside rooms were very noisy until the pool closed and smelled strongly of chlorine. The layout of the hallways and number of the rooms were the most confused that I have ever encountered. The pillows were so big and hard that I could not use them. The staff was friendly and everything was pleasant, but I can't fathom how this hotel could be rated 3 stars.”

• I liked the kids meals were included.
• Hours for pool. We were out all day and wanted to relax at night but the pool was closing.

• Hard to focus on the good.
• From the moment my crew arrived it seemed to them that they were not welcome there!

“I believed it to have been an overall nice hotel, but when it is very obvious that you are not welcome to stay there, it's not good. I cancelled the remainder of my stay after one night. A stall member may say that she was following hotel policy, but from some of her statements she made to me and crew it seemed to be a little more.”

• The mattress was comfortable.
• The bathroom was unvested; room had no window to the outside, and stank.

“Downside: we had one of the rooms that faced the recreational area with the indoor pool, spa, etc. These rooms have no window to the real outside, so they are dark, have no access to fresh air, and the only way to cool the room was to use a fan which brought in moist, chlorine filled air. The bathroom had no vent, and the rooms stank of stale cigarettes and used bathrooms. The box springs had large, dark red and brown stains running down the sides looked like someone had been murdered there. The TV belonged in a museum. Upside: the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom was clean.”

• The heater was very noisy.

“This hotel for the price was convenient for my visit to York. The staff was friendly, and rooms were clean and well kept. I was woken many times by people walking and talking in the halls, and I had to turn off the heater since it was a very noisy unit. I would not say that it was a 3 star hotel, but rather a 2.5 compared to many others that I have stayed in.”

• If room service was a little less costly, Id use it more.

“Excellent Holiday Inn. The sauna, pool and hot tub alone make it a nice stay. But the staff makes it a far better than average place.”

“Good location outside of, but close enough and easily accessible to, the industrial areas of York, PA and highways/interstate. Right in the heart of dining/shopping commercial district. A middle-of-the-road suburban hotel, but bathroom could use some updating.”

• No elevator.

“This is your average holiday inn from the 1970's. This is not a 3-star hotel. There was new linen but the rest seems outdated. Vending machines were sold out on our floor. No elevator there were wild, unattended children racing thru the halls until after 11 pm. The sink drained very slowly. The old faucet on the shower made it impossible to set the water temperature. The room was so dry, we all got throat and nose irritations.”

“I was disappointed that a 3-star rating apples since the shower curtain had a great deal of mold buildup. This did not happen overnight and indicates poor housekeeping controls.”

• Great location in York.
• Older room then I expected.

“This hotel is a little out of date decor and furniture wise but the hotel bar/lounge was great very nice and helpful staff. Just the bed was past its prime and not very comfortable and the TV was outdated so the picture was fuzzy, had we paid the regular price for the hotel I would have been very upset.”

• I liked the indoor pool and whirlpool. The exercise room was a nice plus.
• My room was not ready at check in time.

“We had a pleasant one night stay at this hotel. Since we did not know the area, arriving at the hotel/finding it was a little tricky. The main downside to the hotel is that the room was not ready at check in time. We had to kill an hour at wall mart before the room was ready. Some of the games in the Holidome such as the ping pong table need to be updated as it looked like it would fall apart soon.”

• The bar area was the only nice place within.
• The bed sheets needed replacing badly.

“The bed sheets where worn out could see old stains. The carpet in the room was worn and dirty. There was no soap/shampoo/conditioner in bathroom. Lots of maintenance issue with this hotel. Thanks anyway for trying to make this work. The hotel has a nice bar.”

• Location was good if you don't want to be close to town.
• I never felt it was clean up to the usual Holiday Inn standards.

“We had to request to be moved from the first room because there were urine drips on the toilet seat and the one bed was made in such a way as to give the appearance that the sheets had not been changed. Seemed more like a room that had been straightened up for a two-night stay by one guest. The iron didn't work. The shams on the beds were dirty although the pillow cases looked clean. The front desk staff was very nice and professional.”

• The staff is very polite and helpful. Friendly and try their best to satisfy guests' requests.
• There is no elevator to take the luggage to the second floor is so difficult.

“Nice refurbished property, but somewhat isolated from nightlife or walking destinations. That said, they have requisite restaurant facilities and services on site for most needs. Also it is a little hard to find.”

• 2 vending machines were out of order on my floor and the security doors were open (room key was not needed to enter the hallways).

“The lobby was furnished pleasantly like a living room. The staff was helpful, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, I did not have time to try the restaurants or pool.”

“Not a 3 star hotel. Hotel is older and needs renovation. If you are not expecting a 3 star property, you will have a very comfortable stay. If you want a true 3 star hotel - look somewhere else.”

“Overall was decent experience, but I called a couple of days before leaving because I knew I would be arriving late and wanted to tell them that as well as find out if they had any facilities for food on premises that late. I was told that the restaurant would be closed but that the lounge would have a limited menu. However, upon arrival, dead tired after checking in I found that there was no food in the lounge, limited or otherwise. I wasn't about to head back out at that time (it was a really long driveway from the main road and off the beaten path) and had nothing.”

“Internet pictures are horrible! Searching on the net gave the hotel a low star rating but it is definitely more than 3 star worthy. The hotel is close to many things. Shopping, food, attractions, entertainment, etc. Lovely!”

• I liked the price I paid for this hotel and would have been unhappy had I paid more.
• I was looking forward to the fact they had pools, the pools had cloudy water and I found that disturbing.

“The staff was great, very helpful and had really excellent suggestions for us. Very responsive to all our requests. We had picked the hotel because our children like pools and they were gross foggy water, I would not let them in them. Expected better beds.”

• The lobby was beautiful, and lobby personnel were nice.
• No elevator (heavy suitcase due to black tie event over the weekend).

“We arrived late and the staff had lost our reservation, and it became a hassle to check in. The lobby was beautiful, but who would care about that when you discover you have to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs due to no elevator. Then we enter our non smoking room and it stinks like cigarettes, and in the morning I see ashtray provided. Next I find that only decaf coffee in the room (ditto the second night). I was happy to check out.”

• It felt 'cleaner' than most hotels I have stayed in.
• The pool had entirely way too much chlorine. It was burning out eyes and nose when we were not even in it. It dyed our swimsuits too.

“The hotel itself was great. The day we were checking out, our brakes went out and basically left us stranded at the hotel until they were fixed several hours later. The hotel manager only gave us a 1 hour extension to our room for checking out. I had a newborn baby and 2 other young children. We had about 4 hours to keep them all quiet and entertained in the hotel lobby. Under the circumstances, there's no reason in the world why they couldn't let us stay in our room for a few extra hours. The hotel restaurant only served breakfast that day and we had no vehicle to drive to get something to eat.”

• Outside pool could use some cleaning.

“Excellent hotel. A little bit of a maze to get to it on your first time around, however, once you are there. It is worth every penny you paid for it. We had an absolutely lovely time. Also, building is two stories with no elevator so it could be tough carrying up luggage to the second floor.”

• There wasnt anything I didn't like.

“This hotel was in a nice area of New York. Our room was conveniently located to the parking lot and to the entrance to the hotel restaurant. It had a nice indoor as well as outdoor pool.”

• Very customer-oriented staff.
• Tub area could have been cleaner.

“Management must have paid attention to the 2 negative reviews. Arrived at 2 am staff asked me about my trip, when I told them I had tried to follow mapquest directions and got lost they asked for the location of my business meeting in the morning. The staff slipped printed directions with color coded local maps under the door for me to use on my way to the meeting. I would stay again and recommend to family.”
