- Restaurant food was dreadful.
“The rooms are clean and quiet and the beds are comfortable. I was surprised to find that, at a Hilton, the bathroom were very Motel 6. (Fan comes on with the light.) Most disappointing: the restaurant and room service food was just awful, and the first night I was there, I had to call the order in twice-they lost the first one.”

- Location, cleanliness, very quiet, everything you expect and more.
- The window of my room opens into the lobby courtyard - perfect outside room.
“A great place to stay for business. Given the choice, would prefer a room that looks outside instead of one looking into the hotel lobby and courtyard - result in always closing the drapes. Love their cup size coffee maker (1 or 2 cups). Supplies coffee, regular and decafe, 3 different variety tea bags, sugar, but no non-dairy creamer (a small minus). Old fashion TV. A hotel of this caliber should have a newer HD or non-tube TV. Overall very pleasant stay.”

- I was treated exceptionally well by the people at the restaurant at breakfast, the only meal I had there.
- The heat took a long time to warm up and it was a very cold day and I was sick.
“Beautiful, upscale hotel hidden away from the hustle and bustle. Staying there made me feel special, like I was pampering myself. Getting it for a reasonable price was a big plus that put another smile on my face.”

- Front desk staff friendly and helpful, room comfortable, good bed linens and pillows, Washington Post and WSJ available.
- Bathrooms too small, service at the restaurant slow, not near any place to eat for after-hours-meals.
“The restaurant didn't seem to have enough servers during breakfast. The hotel is well kept and has a very pretty lobby. The room was fine except the bathroom was very small; however, with the outside sink, it was fine. Water quality from the sink was undrinkable. In room coffee and Crabtree and Evelyn bath products a nice touch. I have stayed in many three-star hotels that are far worse than this, and I was pleasantly surprised. I have stayed in top hotels -- Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Caesar's Palace and Wynn in Vegas. I know a great hotel. This was a good three-star hotel.”

- The hotels location.
- The hotel had ball room parties every other night. The loud music was tolerable but could have done without it.
“My wife and I chose this hotel because of its very convenient location to Columbia and the Fort Meade area. The hotel is directly off a state road but you wouldn't know it because a nice tree line hides it. The hotel also had a very nice pool and Jacuzzi although we didn't get to use it because we were so busy. We also could have done without the ball room parties they had every other night. The music was quite loud and played into the night sometimes till 3 a.m.”

“It appears that certain departments within the hotel are doing their best to bring this property to its knees. In the dining room, undoubtedly the worst attempt at French onion soup ever! Went to the bar at 9 pm on a Saturday night, totally empty of customers, we had to track the bartender down, he was in the kitchen, cooking! We have visited this hotel over two separate weekends. On each visit, it was secretary to have housekeeping change out the moldy, mildewed shower curtain. Replacement should be on a regular basis, not when a guest has to call and complain. On both visits, we left a gratuity for the housekeeper and a note requesting additional coffee packs for the next morning. On both occasions, the request was ignored, but the gratuity was accepted! It's just too bad, it's obvious that the owners spent and spent when the hotel was remodeled but the level of service does not reflect the furnishings and appointments!”

“If your room is on the 3rd floor and you're sensitive to cigarette smoke, you might as well find another place to stay. The hotel was full, so they couldn't do much, but didn't offer up any help either. This hotel has seen better days.”

- I liked the bed room.
- By bath room could have been cleaner.
“It was good to discover the hotel, at the end of the day going to eat dinner was. Very sickening we had to wait I had a 18 years old son how felt like throwing up just by the look of the plate we had to wait for good hour I kept telling my son waiting means good food and it was so sad to see him walk away form the food. I had had a long day and I am animick I needed food so I forced half of the food upon my self.”

- The clocks were automatically reset for daylight savings and the hotel didnt notify of the mistake.
“Basically it is a nice hotel, although the parking leaves something to be desired. The clocks were not adjusted to the new daylight savings calendar consequently they were turned back and Im sure I was not the only person late to my meeting the following day.”

- Lost electricity while in the shower. Room key lock did not work and had to wait 25 minutes.
“Everything was very nice except for the power outage which was no fault of hotel. They did compensate me with a free breakfast. Then hotel key failed and I had to wait a good amount of time but compensated again with a glass of wine. While outage was out, I could not find my way to the stairs as maid staff did not speak English. I think I should have been compensated a bit more for these inconveniences, however.”

- Quiet, uncrowned, very clean, nice setting, close to where I was working.
- No refrigerator in room. Sign at street was hidden from view and easy to pass by.

“Found s on sheets, room service food was cold (room temp at best) (Nachos), so much so the liquid cheese sauce was coagulated. Mold in shower.”

- The location was quiet.
- Everything except the location.
“My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Columbia. I would never recommend this hotel to any and will not stay there again. There were long black hairs all over the bathroom tub and even on the coffee maker. The bathroom was so small two people couldn't be in it at the same time, and the bathroom door would hit you in the knee when sitting on the toilet. The toilet didn't even have a top on it, so my towel fell in once. Washclothes were myths at the Hilton Columbia. No one ever had any and no one could ever find any either. The maids never had any one there carts, so we always had to go to the desk to get them which took forever the day of our departure. No cart buggies could be found. The staff was not helpful and kept telling my husband it wasn't their problem and two buggies has always been enough for there hotel. My poor husband had to make five trips to the car carrying our luggage. I am disabled and was unable to help him. I refused to let him take anything else to the car, so we requested assistance from the staff. The man who helped us make the sixth and final trip had the nerve to expect a tip. Heres a tip for you. Get some more luggage carts. This is a poorly ran Hilton. If I could rate it less than 1 star, I would. Beware of the Hilton Columbia.”

- The bed in the room was absolutely amazing! We slept like babies!
- Would not serve us a Bloody Mary or Mimosa with Sunday Brunch until 11 a.m.

- Morning coffee.
- Smoking room not cleaned.
“Room smelled badly of stale smoke. No trash can in the bathroom. Phone on desk didnt work. Staff made lots of promises with few results.”
