• Great location, nice facilities, quite despite downtown location, near subway and tourist attractions.
• Nightclub crowd out on the street (across the street) detracted from the exterior environment.

“This Courtyard was quiet and comfortable, as well as centrally located, near the subway and a few museums and bus tours. Comfy beds and pillows, and clean rooms. Gordon Biersch restaurant downstairs was great.”

• Brand new clean facilities.
• Valet parking required because of strict parking guidelines in area, valet parking took a long time to retrieve car.

• Location is very good, walking distance to most areas.

“The location is very good, basically can walk to most of the attractions and can have plenty of dining places. The room is very small and feels like no space to walk.”

• The view out the room was aweful.

“I enjoyed the breakfast buffet both mornings there. The staff was excellent, very kind, friendly, and willing to answer questions and give directions. The restaurant attached to the hotel had delicious food though the acoustics of the room was very noisy.”

• The entire hotel staff was excellent, very courteous and helpful as well.
• I thought that the parking was too expensive per night.

• Easy access to attractions, clean room.
• $24 daily parking fee that is too much!

“I liked this hotel overall. The building was remodeled and new. But the rooms are not that special for upscale level of hotel. I would say, the building is upscale and the rooms are moderate level. The bad part was that the hotel charges $24 parking fee a day, which was too much! I've never seen that much charge for daily parking!”

• The location of hotel was only few blocks from convention we had at Verizon center.
• I used valet parking for one night, yet I found they charged me for two nights. They make some adjustment but later I found out that it was not correct.

“I am disappointed with the valet parking services offered by the hotel. The staff was unfriendly and I need to wait for them to bring the car more than 15 minutes of time than what they promised. Due to that reason, I did not use their service during second day stay at the hotel. Yet, I was billed for two nights. I asked front desk about over charges, they adjusted the charges. This adjustment was turned out to be not for only one day but it was in the amount which I cannot understand. In short, they still charged me more than one day, but slightly less than 2 days. I do not know what methods they used to charge the parking.”

• The location is absolutely amazing. The convenience makes Washington very appealing to my stay.
• There is nothing really to say about this particular hotel in a negative way.

• I like the location and the closeness to the downtown area, including the Metro.
• I didn't like the fact that I was charged again for the room when I checked in.

“I believe this hotel is the perfect hotel for everyone. Whether you are a local or from out of town, the Marriot caters to those who just want to get away from it all too still be close to it all. I had a wonderful night, and didn't even miss the Sopranos.”

• The location was fabulous and the free high speed internet allowed me to work from my room.
• I liked it all!

“The courtyard by Marriott as the convention center is in an old converted bank building that is beautiful. The king bed rooms are large and have a sofa for relaxing. The free high speed internet was a bonus for me. The location is between two metro stops so it is very convenient. The staff was very nice. I liked that the shower had a handrail and two shelves for toiletries. I was very pleased with this hotel. I think the 2.5 star rating is wrong. It is a 3. I could not have been happier with this choice.”

• Beautiful room free internet, fast elevators.
• Some of the parking attendants could barely speak English.

“It's hard to complain about this hotel. The building and lobby are beautiful; it was originally a bank and the safe is part of the decor in the downstairs breakfast area. My room was large, clean and in very good condition. I never had to wait long for anything. There is an excellent restaurant in the same building, not part of the hotel but usually accessible from inside. It's close to a metro stop and the convention center and the mall/museums.”

“The location of the hotel is between two different Metro stations so you have easy access to almost every line in the area. Lots of restaurants and museums within blocks and the Circulator run nearby on 7th street. The hotel was clean, comfortable and friendly with a restaurant/bar attached. Great stuff.”

• Glasses and mugs not cleaned well by housekeeping.

“The Convention Center Courtyard is in a great location on the edge of Chinatown and only half a block from Metro and bus stops. The Spy Museum and newly-restored Smithsonian American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery are across the street from the hotel. Chinatown has plenty of restaurants, services and shopping. The hotel itself has clean, quiet and well-appointed rooms. Staff are highly efficient, responsive, always available but not overly aggressive.”

• Room with a king bed and sofa bed is too small for a family of 4.

“Very convenient location (walking distance to almost all the places we visited), nice hotel and room, very helpful staff. The only complain we have is that two double bed room not available. We (a family of 4) stayed in a room with a king bed and sofa bed. It's hard to move around when the sofa bed is set.”

• Great location, recently refurbished, very classy. Excellent for the money.

“If you are visiting Washington, DC, it doesn't get any better. You can walk to all of the sights: 1 block to Ford's theatre, 2 blocks to ESPN zone, 4 blocks to the National Mall, the list goes on. The rooms are very nice. Fantastic hotel for the $$$!”

• Hotel is in a great location, near metro stations, the portrait gallery, Ford's Theater and other sites.
• We were given a smoking room, but it had been deep cleaned and didn't smell.

“Great location! Super comfortable bed with lots of pillows and great photos of the DC area. Cool building that had once been a bank with beautiful chandeliers. The staff was really helpful. Parking was $24 a night but seemed reasonable for the area. There was a Thrifty rent a car close by so I would just drive from the airport and return the car to avoid paying the parking fee next time. There was a lot of construction on the street. The location and hotel were great. We were near great restaurants, the Ford's theater, National Portrait Gallery, the Spy Museum, etc. The metro stop was really close and convenient. You needed you room key to use the elevator which was great for extra safety. We would definitely stay there again!”

• The hotel staff was helpful. Having Internet was a plus.
• The room service was slow.

“The Marriott Convention Center in DC is located downtown and is convenient to tourist sites. The staff was helpful and courteous. The room, while somewhat small, was adequate for my husband and myself. The only minor complaint was the slowness of room service both times we ordered.”
