“Our stay at Grand Hyatt, D.C. made our vacation more memorable. The fountain at the lobby was so calming and inviting especially after coming from a very strenuous tour of the city. The room was clean and neatly decorated. The staff were very friendly and thanks to them for providing us excellent service and assistance from check-in to check-out. I will always consider Grand Hyatt, D.c. in my future vacation plans and will definitely recommend it to anybody. I give this hotel 5 stars!!!!!! As a matter of fact, I've shared my experience with at least 6 people already.”

“My wife, 3 small kids and I really enjoyed our stay here. Having never been to DC before we didn't know what to expect. The location was terriffic. We walked from the hotel to all the major tourist sites with ease.”

- The price of breakfast buffet was high but it lasts all day.
“The hotel is beautiful. The food was good. The breakfast buffet was especially good but a little pricey. I liked that the Metro station was downstairs. That was a definite plus when the heat and humidity of the city makes it hard to walk.”

- The subway from airport drop you off right under the hotel.
- I don't feel the hotel should have been rated a 4 star hotel.

“Wonderful location; friendly, helpful staff (esp. concierge); beautifully kept exterior and main interior; rooms a bit small and cleaning service needed to be more thorough. An extremely pleasant experience overall, though.”

“Beautiful hotel with nice rooms. We booked two rooms for four people and when we checked in the hotel clerk asked if we would like adjoining rooms. I was not expecting this and was pleasantly surprised by the great service. The food was great too!”

- Price, location, direct Metro access, walking distance to everything, very appealing, $20 self parking for 24 hours
- I needed a roll-away cot. Front desk said yes. Housekeeping would not deliver...fire code violation.
“The Grand Hyatt is...GRAND! Beautiful lobby and every convenience is right there. Good deli-style breakfast place in the lobby (a bit pricy), a wide selection of in-house restaurants, and the Metro is right in the basement. Also there is a self park lot underground with direct hotel access for $20/24 hours. I paid only 40% of what my friends paid for their room. It felt great!”

- We liked that the Metrorail connected to the hotel, which made it very convenient.
- We were not informed that there was an extra cost for parking.
“The hotel staff was very accomodating and helpful. The atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming. It was very nice to have several places to eat inside of the hotel and also to have several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. I would hightly recommend this hotel to my friends.”

- Extremely solicitous staff, made a point of using my name and making my experience there "personal."
- Sundries in the hotel convenience store were extremely expensive.
“This hotel is beautiful, and its location will soon be ideal, once the city fills in the vast empty block that remains of the recently razed old convention center. Having access to the Metro directly from the hotel was a phenomenal convenience. The hotel sparkled, had ample light, and the staff was highly solicitous.”

- The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Although the room was nonsmoking, it still smelled badly of smoke.
“The location of the Grand Hyatt was very nice for seeing the sites of DC. There were several restaurants close by. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff, and they were very helpful. Unfortunately, the pool was under renovation and not open while we were there, and it would have been nice to know that ahead of time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to sightsee around DC.”

“other than the pool being closed until july;the hotel was very pleasant;I don't get to go swimming very often and was looking forward to this feature. Just the treck to another hotel and having to change clothes there and bring a wet swimsuit back and then change again for dinner was a drag;we chose not to do.”

- Great Location for site seeing. METRO is next door. Chinatown just blocks away. 20 minute walk from White House. Nice Sunday morning buffet.
- Had to use another hotel's pool...but, kids still enjoyed it.

- Tle location was excellent and the grounds were beautiful.
- They charged you for everything. There was a charge for the refridgerator, the fitness center, and internet. There were no laundry facilities.
“The area was right above the metro and close to most attractions. However, they nickle and dime you for every amenity. There was no micro or refridgerator, the latter had a 25 dollar charge. The pool was not available and the fitness center was being renovated, yet they still charged us for the use of it. The use of the internet was very expensive and there were no laundy facilities nearby. If staying for long, it can be very expensive.”

- Very convenient to Metro Center station and within walking distance of many sites & very comfortable bed.
- No bathrobes, no mouthwash in rooms.
“The Grand Hyatt was a great hotel for our visit to DC. The rooms were clean and comfortable - the bed was very comfortable and the linens were nice. The lobby acess to Metro Center station was extremely convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful. The deli on site was great for grabbing breakfast and the hotel's jazz bar, Butlers, had great martinis and atmoshere (great drink prices, too). I wish we had bathrobes in rooms and mouthwash. These have been standard in other 4 star hotels I've visited. The downtown location meant we had to walk a little bit, but it was convenient enough that we walked much more than we took the metro. There were plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity.”

- The hotels location, access to the metro, and room quality were great. The staff, especcially the concierge were very helpful.
- The only issue we had on the stay related to an issue getting my wife's address changed on her Gold Passport acct. They were not able to do it there.
“We really were happy woth our stay at the Grand Hyatt. This was a family vacation and we loved the location and all the amenities. I hope to stay there again and will tell everyone about our great experience.”

- Hyatt quality service was not evident
- Housekeeping service was not good -- missing towels, etc.
“The hotel was lovely but I was not impressed with the level of service. The only group that met my expectations was the front desk crew -- they were helpful and very pleasant. The bellmen and valet parkers (though there were many of them evident) forgot to get my car two of three times I called down in advance, no one out front when I arrived late in the evening to take my luggage in. I had to ASK the front desk clerk to PLEASE get someone to help me with my luggage. Same when leaving....waited FOREVER for a bellman to come -- waited at least 20 minutes after getting downstairs for my car to arrive when I had called before leaving the room. I arrived late and left early in the a.m. so maybe this is the reason -- but no excuse for poor service no matter what the hour. Housekeeping didn't leave correct number of towels, face cloths, handtowels one day I didn't have ANY handtowels. They didn't clean the floor of the bathroom the whole time I was there (four nights). Just not what I expected from a Grand Hyatt.”

- The Grand Hyatt staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, and attractive. The location was within reasonable walking distance of the mall
- The only negative was the coffee shop in the hotel. The service was poor and quite expensive. They even charged for condiments.

“The hotel is in a good location and sits on top of the main Metro Center rail station. Very convenient. The Zephyr Grill located in the hotel is a good and inexpensive place for breakfast. The hotel does have an issue with charging fees for virtually everything. $11 to use a treadmill in the gym. $10 to recieve a package. $1.00 per minute to access the internet in the business center, and $1.59 per page to print in the business center. Overall, the stay was good, but I would recommend that you don't use any of their services.”

- The location was excellent given the restaurants, entertainment, transportation options.
- Some (not all) staff were not as friendly as they could have been.
“I liked the location and the amenities this hotel offered. However, the pool and exercise facilities were under repair and were not entirely available. It would have been disappointing if I would have brought my family with me. Otherwise I was pleased.”

- Great location. Metro is very conveniently accessed without having to go outside. Some good restaurants are in walking distance.
- No king size beds were available when we checked in. Our room on the first floor faced the street and we experienced some street noise.

- Close to everything, and good service from staff.
- The room was too small for a four star hotel.
“We stayed longest at this hotel, and overall, it was the best stay. The staff was conciliatory when confronted with a minor problem, and they went out of their way to compensate. The room was comfortable, but as we mentioned before a bit small, yet overall, we were satisfied with everything. The building itself was beautiful, with indoor fountains and restaurants surrounded by blue "lagoons".”

- Perfectly suitable, but not a four star hotel.
- The cleaning service was haphazard.
“This hotel was perfectly suitable for a weekend, but simply not four star quality. The cleaning service was indifferent and the concierge was unhelpful. The front desk was courteous and the lobby and rooms fairly well-appointed though the rooms were rather small. The "fitness center" was small, cramped, and lacked any windows, making for an unpleasant experience. For the price, you can do better in the D.C. area.”

- We got an AWESOME deal at a wonderful hotel - nice rooms, soft towels and bedding, great staff! Loved it!!!!
- Honestly, I can't think of anything that I didn't like .. oh, wait, I kind of wished that the deli part was open a bit later so I could get some fruit
“AWESOME hotel! Walking distance to most things you would want to see in DC. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were very large, the towels soft and the bedding was great .. best pillows I've ever seen in a hotel. Nice looking atrium inside. Very clean. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this hotel highly. We got a great deal!”
