• The room was very clean.
• The room was extremely small.

“The hotel was clean, but in a very bad area. We were unable to sleep due to the noise coming from the clubs on all four corners of the hotel. The clubs were open all night and even with earplugs we were unable to sleep. The room was to small.”

“Very good value and location in Washington D.C. Only about 5 blocks and an easy walk to many attractions as well as the convention center. Room was clean, beds comfortable, fitness facility was good and a Starbucks is on site. Negatives would only be the view out the window and I did not find the hotel "loud" at all. I heard no street noise from my room and never had a problem sleeping. Would stay again without hesitation.”

• The decor was comfortable and inviting. It was very clean, and the staff was helpful. It was also in a great location.
• The coffee maker in the room was cheap and didn't work very well.

“The door men to this hotel are a nice touch. They were very helpful with bags and getting taxis. They were also knowledgeable of the interests within the locale. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The decor was neat and warm. The people in reception were also very friendly. Overall an excellent hotel. I am going to try to stay there again on my next visit.”

• Location was OK it was close to a lot of things as far as nightlife.
• The rooms were tiny, hotel service was below average for a Crowne Plaza. Though it was remodeled, you could not tell.

“In short I would never go back to that hotel I am a fan of the Crowne Plaza resorts and I thought it was a bad decision to make it a Crowne hotel The staff were less than helpful.”

• Hotel was close to everything I needed convention center for business, restaurants, Metro and attractions for leisure.
• Homeless people are everywhere in the surrounding area.

“My husband and I stayed at the Hamilton Crowned Plaza while attending a trade show in DC. The room was very comfortable, the amenities were great and the staff was super. The location was perfect only a six block walk from the Convention Center, a block from the Metro, and three blocks from the White House. There was a good selection of restaurants within walking distance. The only drawback was the number of homeless people in the area they are not aggressive, just omnipresent. But it did not dampen our enthusiasm for either the hotel or Washington, DC. We would definitely stay here again.”

• The decor was stylish and pleasant. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was convenient to public transportation.
• The room was small and had limited amenities.

“We spent on night at the hotel and experienced helpful and friendly staff members. When we got to the room, it was a bit small, but decorated pleasantly and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the internet keyboard was broken (we got a replacement later), so we couldn't take advantage of it while we had the time. There was no mini bar or even a refrigerator in the room, but there were the usual, soaps, lotions, iron, hair dryer, etc. The hotel also provided, a relaxation kit, which was nice. Over the entire hotel was a great deal. It was easy to find, in a good neighborhood, one block from a metro station and staffed by very friendly people. We enjoyed our stay.”

“Not bad but there is not much in this area except the mall, museums, and sites. To go out was expensive and slim pickins. Good for the price, nice bar downstairs. If you are just seeing the sites, perfect just get your walking shoes.”

• It was very clean and the concierge was very friendly as well as helpful.
• That you had to pay 33 dollars to park at the hotel overnight.

“The hotel and room were clean and upscale. In the area around the hotel I felt safe walking around day as well as night. The White House and other attractions were about a 5-10 minute walk away. There were some bar and restaurants within walking distance on K and H streets, but not an actual night life type of scene. Parking at the hotel I paid 33 dollars since parking on the street wasnt allowed overnight or on weekdays.”

• Conveniently located, nicely decorated, clean, comfortable, well maintained, restaurant good.
• Not much soundproofing; nearby park occupied by homeless, with some requests for money; concierge not well versed.

“I would stay at the Crowne plaza Hamilton again without hesitation. The facilities were fine (the beds especially comfortable), and the central location made it easy to walk or take the metro to nearly every tourist destination. In fact, the price seemed too good to be true, given the location. The room and the bathroom were quite roomy and well maintained; since the room did not face the street, exterior noise was limited.”

• Small bed and small TV.

“Very happy with our stay at the Crowne plaza. The hotel staff was very friendly; however, the bar staff was surprisingly slow and unhappy. The hotel is literally seconds from the subway. The rooms were cozy for the price. The only bad thing is the bottle of water that the hotel puts on the desk and charges 2.95 for it. When you are tired and you just get in, you don't pay attention to what the sign on the bottle says. Well, we were not charged for it anyway. Excellent hotel. Will definitely come back.”

“I do not recommend you stay at the Crowne Plaza Hamilton. The hotel is a remodel of an old hotel. Consequently, the rooms are small and bathrooms even smaller. The bathrooms are poorly ventilated and lack counter space. The room type we reserved (2 double beds non smoking) was not available the first night. We were moved the second night and the room, although non smoking, reeked of cigarette smoke. Finally, for a modern business traveler oriented hotel, it is ridiculous that the hotel does not offer free wifi internet.”

“The hotel has a 30's or 40's look to it on the outside. It looks like it doesn't fit in the business like atmosphere of dc. That's what I found attractive. The room was a little small and the bathroom tight.”

• Pan handlers on sidewalk within 1/2 block of hotel.

“Excellent location. Close to white house and metro stations. Situated along k-street corridor which is has several night spots and restaurants near by. Comfortable bed. Nicely furnished and attractive rooms. Franklin square is 1/2 block away, but seems to be a magnet for homeless/street people. Handy CVS pharmacy 1 block north on 14th street.”

• The employee who showed us to the room and handled our bags was excellent, as well as the parking valet.
• The rooms were quite small, although well decorated.

“All in all we had a good experience. The front desk staff was not as helpful and friendly as the luggage handlers and parking valets. Some of the waiters were excellent; others were not as experienced and friendly.”

• No free internet access. I find a bottle of water with a price tag in the room extremely annoying.

“Basic but very nice hotel. Rooms are smaller than many comparable hotels but perfectly adequate. Service was somewhat indifferent. Best thing about the hotel is its convenient location.”

• The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Service was timely and efficient.
• The rooms looked a bit worn with water stains on the ceiling and shower fixtures not working properly. Bathroom was small with low water pressure.

“The hotel was good for what my needs were. Conveniently located I was able to get to my appointments quite easily. However the rooms were a bit small and dated. There were water stains on the ceiling which made the room seem more unappealing than it probably was. Due to the friendliness of the staff and the timely service, I would return.”

“The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Bathroom was very clean and everything worked well. I rested very well in the bed which I usually do not on my first night in a new hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and your service.”

• Most comfortable bed provided "sleep kit".
• Continental breakfast was not great.

“Exceeded my expectations. The staff went above and beyond and the room was unbelievably comfortable. The only downside was the garbage pickup at 6 am, but since they had provided earplugs, I put them in and quickly went back to sleep.”

• Accommodations were tough when I wanted to specify # of beds, etc. Concierge was not knowledgeable about shuttle to airport or local events.

“It is a good hotel if you are traveling alone or with spouse. I requested for 2 double beds because we are traveling with 1 child but was not able to get one. The personnel are very friendly. I wish they can direct the visitor how to get to and from places of interest in different ways aside from taking a cab.”

• Parking is a nightmare. Additional costs for parking call and ask.

“The Crowne Plaza is a very convenient facility for DC business or touring. One block from Metro. Not child friendly. Great for spouse and self. Parking cost for weekend were $30/night so plan accordingly. I would gladly stay here again. The Hamilton could increase weekend revenue by targeting touring but would have to address such with value oriented packages.”

• Separate fees for all services like parking, internet, etc.

“The problem with this hotel is that the price of the stay, while a great deal, is bumped up ridiculously if you want any amenities. Parking was $28.00 a night plus tax. Internet service was $10.00 a night. The food from 14k was fantastic, but pricey (a burger was $15.00). The drinks and TV services were high as well. The good thing is that the hotel is gorgeous. Yes, the rooms are a bit small and the bathroom is tiny, but everything was extremely clean. The bellmen, concierge and room service staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The valets were nice enough. There was free coffee in the lobby in the mornings, and when we requested our car at checkout it was only minutes before it arrived. Overall the hotel was a fantastic deal for the money and very conveniently located (3 blocks from the mall). ”
