“Excellent business hotel. I had a terrible time finding a hotel at the government rate, as the trip was planned quickly. I put the government rate in, and this hotel is what I got. Could not have been better. I will use this approach in the future.”

• Location! Easy walking or public transportation to everything!
• Smaller rooms than I would have expected for star rating.

“Nicely updated historical hotel. Great location, across from park and very easy access to all public transportation (which is super easy to use as well!) and well within walking distance to the national mall and most major monuments and museums! Rooms a bit small and could use more sound proofing, but overall I had a great time and would consider staying there again.”

• Linens/bedding, pillows, and bed were all excellent and very comfortable, location was also great.
• Restaurant & it's service.

“Excellent location, 2 blocks from White House, 1 block from Metro station. Staff were very friendly. Bedding was soft, pillows were down and excellent, bed was very comfortable. Pretty quiet hotel, looked to be mostly for business travelers. Starbucks downstairs is nice. Small coffee pot in room was good.”

• Convenience to subway.
• Rooms could be cleaner and updated AC filters need to be cleaned.

“In my opinion it is not a 3.5 star. Reception people were not very friendly. TV and rooms need to be updated. Flat screen TV and i pod alarm clocks would be nice for them to add to room.”

• Very clean.
• Front desk was rude when asked questions about local attractions - not very helpful.

“I loved the hotel, however we wanted to go on the seaway tour. We asked the front desk to arrange this and they told us to walk across the park and figure it out. They could have called to help arrange tickets so we didn't have to walk to find out they were sold out for the day.”

“From the front desk staff to housekeeping- very friendly. Location was ideal and within walking distance to great restraunts and attractions. Starbucks on location was ideal for an early morning latte before venturing out. room was clean and quiet.”

• Very good price for accommodations, better than what available at convention hotel.
• Young manager gave inaccurate information to me regarding 2 issues of great importance to me.

“Front desk person told me breakfast available on weekdays and weekend at 6:30 am. Did not open till 7, jeopardizing my insulin schedule. Also said check approval not granted by their merchant. It was worked out the next day with a clerk who knew correct procedure.”

• It was a nice hotel.

“While the overall experience of the hotel was very good, from the front end to the valets, the view from the room was less than desirable. We requested a park view, but what we did not know was that Lafayette park was a park where it was over run by homeless people all day and night. We were greeted by the homeless sleeping all day and night and actually taking their private parts out and urinating in plain view. This happened daily every day we were there. Unsettleing to say the least. I would never stay in this type of room, and probably even the hotel due to this.”

• The service, location, cleanliness. I was overall very pleased. The hotel service was excellent.
• The parking. Inform customers ahead of time that it will be an additional $30 per day.

• Would have liked a pool/Jacuzzi.

• Room carpet in disrepair, lobby chairs soiled, parking expensive, staff not very friendly.

“This hotel located on Capital Hill and near popular night spots is a good value. It is a boutique style hotel that provides some extra touches expected of a luxury facility. Rooms are small but exceptionally clean and comfortable. There were a few maintenance needs noted; torn carpet in room chairs in lobby needed cleaning. Staff was efficient but not really friendly. Parking is pricey. All in all, it is an upscale hotel in a great location.”

“The good news is they give you a set of ear plugs with the room, the bad news is I needed them because the night club next door was very loud in the middle of the night. Otherwise, got a great rate & a nice room but parking was an expensive problem in this neighborhood.”

• Our room was not ready when we got there and not for about 2 more hours, but we were upgraded to a suite.
• Only one of the 4 elevators worked. We were on the 12th floor so the stairs was not the best option. lots of waiting.

“The room was great. Beautiful view of park next door. Restaurant dining was great. We sat on the patio and had a great relaxing meal. The bed was the best I have ever slept on. It was a great relaxing time.”

• Slowest elevators ever!

“The hotel was clean, but in a very bad area. We were unable to sleep due to the noise coming from the clubs on all four corners of the hotel. The clubs were open all night and even with earplugs we were unable to sleep. The room was to small.”

“Very good value and location in Washington D.C. Only about 5 blocks and an easy walk to many attractions as well as the convention center. Room was clean, beds comfortable, fitness facility was good and a Starbucks is on site. Negatives would only be the view out the window and I did not find the hotel "loud" at all. I heard no street noise from my room and never had a problem sleeping. Would stay again without hesitation.”

• The decor was comfortable and inviting. It was very clean, and the staff was helpful. It was also in a great location.
• The coffee maker in the room was cheap and didn't work very well.

“The door men to this hotel are a nice touch. They were very helpful with bags and getting taxis. They were also knowledgeable of the interests within the locale. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The decor was neat and warm. The people in reception were also very friendly. Overall an excellent hotel. I am going to try to stay there again on my next visit.”

• Location was OK it was close to a lot of things as far as nightlife.
• The rooms were tiny, hotel service was below average for a Crowne Plaza. Though it was remodeled, you could not tell.

“In short I would never go back to that hotel I am a fan of the Crowne Plaza resorts and I thought it was a bad decision to make it a Crowne hotel The staff were less than helpful.”

• Hotel was close to everything I needed convention center for business, restaurants, Metro and attractions for leisure.
• Homeless people are everywhere in the surrounding area.

“My husband and I stayed at the Hamilton Crowned Plaza while attending a trade show in DC. The room was very comfortable, the amenities were great and the staff was super. The location was perfect only a six block walk from the Convention Center, a block from the Metro, and three blocks from the White House. There was a good selection of restaurants within walking distance. The only drawback was the number of homeless people in the area they are not aggressive, just omnipresent. But it did not dampen our enthusiasm for either the hotel or Washington, DC. We would definitely stay here again.”

• The decor was stylish and pleasant. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was convenient to public transportation.
• The room was small and had limited amenities.

“We spent on night at the hotel and experienced helpful and friendly staff members. When we got to the room, it was a bit small, but decorated pleasantly and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the internet keyboard was broken (we got a replacement later), so we couldn't take advantage of it while we had the time. There was no mini bar or even a refrigerator in the room, but there were the usual, soaps, lotions, iron, hair dryer, etc. The hotel also provided, a relaxation kit, which was nice. Over the entire hotel was a great deal. It was easy to find, in a good neighborhood, one block from a metro station and staffed by very friendly people. We enjoyed our stay.”

“Not bad but there is not much in this area except the mall, museums, and sites. To go out was expensive and slim pickins. Good for the price, nice bar downstairs. If you are just seeing the sites, perfect just get your walking shoes.”

• It was very clean and the concierge was very friendly as well as helpful.
• That you had to pay 33 dollars to park at the hotel overnight.

“The hotel and room were clean and upscale. In the area around the hotel I felt safe walking around day as well as night. The White House and other attractions were about a 5-10 minute walk away. There were some bar and restaurants within walking distance on K and H streets, but not an actual night life type of scene. Parking at the hotel I paid 33 dollars since parking on the street wasnt allowed overnight or on weekdays.”

• Conveniently located, nicely decorated, clean, comfortable, well maintained, restaurant good.
• Not much soundproofing; nearby park occupied by homeless, with some requests for money; concierge not well versed.

“I would stay at the Crowne plaza Hamilton again without hesitation. The facilities were fine (the beds especially comfortable), and the central location made it easy to walk or take the metro to nearly every tourist destination. In fact, the price seemed too good to be true, given the location. The room and the bathroom were quite roomy and well maintained; since the room did not face the street, exterior noise was limited.”

• Convenient location, extremely close to the subway and restaurants/bars/museums, very friendly staff, cozy rooms.
• Small bed and small TV.

“Very happy with our stay at the Crowne plaza. The hotel staff was very friendly; however, the bar staff was surprisingly slow and unhappy. The hotel is literally seconds from the subway. The rooms were cozy for the price. The only bad thing is the bottle of water that the hotel puts on the desk and charges 2.95 for it. When you are tired and you just get in, you don't pay attention to what the sign on the bottle says. Well, we were not charged for it anyway. Excellent hotel. Will definitely come back.”
