“This Hilton is clean, comfortable, and employs a polite and capable staff that is more than willing to go the extra mile to see that you're satisfied. The food at the restaurant/bar was delicious and even if they've closed, they'll do their best to accommodate you. The only problem was the parking fee, at $30 a day, added quite a bit of expense to the trip.” Jun 24, 2009 by
Adrianne from Mechanicsburg,PA
“Excellent staff. Accommodating to certain needs.” May 11, 2009 by
Carla from Castle Rock,CO “The hotel was a great location, close to many attractions and great restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable.” Apr 30, 2009 by
Jack from Bechtelsville,PA
“Check in was a breeze. Dropping the car off was easy. Check out was fast and hassle free. I will stay there again.” Feb 19, 2009 by
Nita from Newport News,VA
“We would not stay there again.” Jan 5, 2009 by
Brenda from Lynchburg,VA
“The Hilton Garden Inn, was absolutely elegent. The atmoshere was romantic and classy. Right accross the street from the metro and many other locations. I spent New Years Eve in D.C and the hotel was centraly located which made getting around very easy. Cab rides ranged from 5.00 to 7.00. The hotel was very affordable, friendly and clean.” May 20, 2008 by
Roxann from Dallas, TX
“The hotel is clean and we were greeted at the door each time and were getting a taxi when needed. The internet and copies are free. The room was beautiful and the TV worked well too and the bathroom and towels were all in order. We liked the Neutrogena bathroom products, as not so perfume as other products. If it wouldn't had been late, we would have asked about the A/C, but we switched to off, and up the temperature, but the temperature came down to 74 from 77. It would have been better not to be facing the huge central A/C/heat units 4 floors down, but I didn't know it would run all day and night, so my fault for not checking to se if there would be another room, or maybe the price we weren't entitled to a better view.” May 18, 2008 by
Arun from Bala Cynwyd, PA
“Convenient to DC Metro, White House, Mall. Workout facilities need to be updated. Pool looks more like an oversized hot tub. They put me on 2nd floor with a view of an roof mounted air conditioner.” May 15, 2008 by
David from Hershey, OR
“This hotel earned its three stars rating, as far as we were concerned. The staff was pleasant and helpful.” May 7, 2008 by
Aarno from Northridge, CA
“Great location, the hotel has passed its glory (if there ever was one), the interior gives a run down feeling. Maintenance could be improved. e.g. wending machines on two different floors either did not work or were out of bottled water. Rooms would benefit from a face lift. Front desk staff unprofessional. We ordered warm milk for our breakfast coffee, had to wait 10 minutes for it and waiter complained that she had do such a service for us. The bell captains helped with the luggage once they were urged to do so.” Apr 8, 2008 by
Mariann from San Diego, CA
“Room was a little better than average but very clean, did not smell bad, convenient metro across the street.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Dan from Santa Rosa, CA
“This is a great value, convenient location, friendly staff and great food.” Feb 29, 2008 by
Lee from Minnetonka, MN
“Standard Hilton Garden Inn with all the amenities. The restaurant is average at best and the room temperature controls didn't work.” Feb 6, 2008 by
Mike from Chicago, IL
“This was a fine hotel with a great location to all things Washington DC. I will stay here in the future.” Jan 29, 2008 by
Karen from Richmond, VA
“Great location, great staff. The only thing I wasn't expecting was the additional $28 to park in the hotel parking lot and the fairly expensive brunch. But the food was very good with lots of choices.” Sep 28, 2007 by
Curtis from Burley, ID
“I called the hotel before the trip to make sure I could park a rental car. They told me I could, but come to find out; it cost $30 a day to take care of the car. Wasn't happy about that.” Sep 2, 2007 by
Hal from Fredericksburg, VA
“I paid for a non-smoking room but was forced to take a smoking room because the hotel had "sold-out". Room was clean but smelled badly of smoke. Front desk staff was very brusque and not pleasant (I arrived late at 10:30pm). They gave me a hard time about putting the stay on my Hilton honors rewards account (why they should even care I don't know -- I guess it was too much work for them hitting that keyboard).valet parking is difficult, particularly because the area to pull up is almost non-existent, and no one was waiting out front to take my car or bags. And, I paid for one-night's valet service, but because I picked my car up at 6pm the next day - the valet attendant accosted me for $16 more in cash. Getting in and out of the hotel by car is difficult. It was not all bad. The room service, restaurant and morning admissions staff was polite, conversant and helpful. The differences between the day and night staff is incredible.” Aug 30, 2007 by
Joseph from Brooklyn, NY
“I went with my girlfriend and we had a very pleasant stay there. It's in a great location to see the classic sights of D.C. Certainly not in a "hip" part of town, but that's not why we were going to D.C. The staff was polite and helpful, and the room was very comfortable. My only complaint was the size of the pool. There were 3 kids swimming in it, and it was sort of full. However, overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you aren't look for anything extraordinary.” Jul 17, 2007 by
Mary from Ellicott City, MD
“Had to wait an extra 20 minutes to check in - 1st room given was said to be non smoking - reeked of smoke and the window was open to get the smoke smell out. The hotel said that this was the only 2 bed room available. They could provide us with a king size bed with a roll away which was not acceptable. We asked to talk to the Hilton head office. Got an 800 number and called to complain. Put on hold for ~15 minutes before being able to talk to someone about the problem. Told they would call back in 10 minutes. After 15 minutes, we called back and were once again put on hold. We were put through to someone at the hotel who 'found' a non smoking 2 double bed room that we could have for the night. They told us that they would be right up with a new set of keys - took 10+ minutes to bring us the new keys - we had moved out into the hallway to get away from the smoke smell. We will not be staying at this hotel ever again.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 14, 2007 by

“The hotel was very nice and was well located in downtime Washington DC. It was right across the street from a subway station that made it very easy to travel around the city to see the many sights.” Jul 13, 2007 by
Pat from Edina, MN
“For our purposes (a short stay), it was more than adequate. It was conveniently located and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Great location for sightseers!” Jul 8, 2007 by
Byron from Fort Mill, SC
“The parking cost really through me for a loop. I did not expect to have to pay an additional $30.00 for parking when I stayed at the hotel. The pool is very small. However, it was within walking distance of all of the major tourist attractions.” Jun 20, 2007 by
Stephanie from Boone, NC
“This hotel was very nice. It did not include any "free-bies". Parking was not included and was expensive. No free breakfast. Other than that the beds were comfortable. Rooms were a little small. Complementary business room was great. Excellent location.” Jun 14, 2007 by
Daryle from Fairfield, CA
“Everything was fine except our room key didn't work and we waited while the repairman took the lock apart-we had dinner plans so he told us to go ahead-we got caught in a rain storm and came in soaking wet and they said they had moved us to another room - so we slopped up there soaking wet and that room key didn't work either - by this time we were really angry. Plus two of our packages were left in the old room and had not been taken to the new room. We did get them and I am sure it was an oversight but there was No compensation for all that trouble we went through.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Connie from Harvey, LA
“It was more than I expected. The food was excellent. Being from New Orleans, I was afraid the seafood buffet would be no match. Your chef proved me wrong. The shrimp was great and so was the rib-eye. I would compare my room at the Hilton with the Ritz in New Orleans, only more comfortable. The entire staff was great.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Graham from Wallasey GB
“The hotel was in a very good location to be able to walk to many of the attractions in Washington DC. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and I would probably stay there again.” May 29, 2007 by
Wayne from Cincinnati, OH

“Overall great experience. The staff was the best part. The room was very nice and comforting. Would definitely recommend to someone.” May 15, 2007 by
Deborah from Greensboro, NC
“This is a great hotel in a great location. You can easily walk to the National Mall, dining, shopping, and the metro (which is directly across the street). I slept very well and the rooms are very quiet and clean. The majority of the front desk staff was somewhat unfriendly and unhelpful, but the rest of the staff was wonderful. Expect to pay thirty dollars a night for hotel parking; not too bad considering it is safe and parking in DC is expensive. It can take a while to have your car brought around, so call ahead approximately thirty minutes before departure.” Apr 30, 2007 by
Dr. D. from Windsor, ON CA
“Friendly people, clean hotel, centrally located. What else is there to say? Oh yeah, they have good cookies in the lobby but you have to get them before 9 pm.” Apr 19, 2007 by
Aimee from Prince George, VA
“The hotel was great. The restaurant staff was very friendly. The only complaint would be how hard it is to have your vehicle on the street while you wit to check in and wait for valet. The restaurant menu could be expanded also. Not much to choose from.” Mar 4, 2007 by
Robert from Brookdale, CA
“An excellent choice for comfort, convenience, cleanliness. I'll definitely stay there again.” Jan 25, 2007 by

Dave from Phoenix, AZ
“The Hilton garden inn is located in a great location for all of the dc attractions. I walked to everything no problem. The metro is located directly across the street from the hotel. It is only 3 metro stops away from the Reagan national airport, and three additional stops away from the Smithsonian mall. Each ride is about 6 minutes long. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The accommodations exceeded my expectations. Staff was friendly and I never felt unsafe being located downtown. You can get everywhere you want on foot or by using the metro right at your doorstep! I recommend this hotel to others.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 6, 2006 by

“I will stay here again. The hotel is located steps from the Metro and walking distance to the Mall. There are a variety of good restaurants nearby, valet parking, indoor pool, etc. The staff was excellent-- very friendly and prompt.” Nov 1, 2006 by
Steve from Chantilly, VA
“Newly renovated room was very nice. It was quiet. It's close to a lot of restaurants and entertainment venues (walking distance). Metro stop across the street. A very nice experience overall.” Sep 13, 2006 by
Annalisa from Schaumburg, IL
“This hotel was in a very convenient location in Washington D.C. I also chose this hotel because it had a parking garage. Upon arrival there was no parking left so I had to pay 26.00 to have my car valeted. After confirming my hotel purchase and receiving my key I went up to my room where I noticed that someone was already staying there. I had to go back down, get a new key and new room number. When I finally got my room it was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Overall the hotel was very convenient and comfortable. I do think that customers could have been treated a little bit more (breakfast, more helpful staff etc.).” Sep 6, 2006 by

Edward from Pasadena, CA
“Very short walk to White House, and Metro station (subway) across the street can get you anywhere in greater D.C. area, including Arlington and Alexandria and Mt. Vernon. Hotel staff are extremely friendly and attentive to your needs. We spent one week over Memorial Day seeing the sights, and concierge was excellent, location very convenient. Will probably do it again in the Fall.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 10, 2006 by

“At check in, I was told I had a room with two beds for me and my 13 year old son at , no problem. But surprise, when I get to the room it is a king bed. Of course when I called front desk there was nothing else available. Blatant lies from the front desk. The rest of the trip we were pretty much ignored. Cold soup in the restaurant, overcooked burgers.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Mar 20, 2006 by

“This is a very nice hotel in a good location near the White House. It's also conveniently located across from a Metro Station. I would definitely stay here again.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Mar 4, 2006 by

“The location is great. It's really close to White House and National Mall is in walking distance. The metro station is right before the hotel. It's good to travel on weekend because free parking spaces are along the street or $20 per day for hotel valet parking during weekday. The only unsatisfying is that we were surcharged for breakfast and felt the bad service attitude in Seattle Best. It's a good idea to have breakfast in Starbucks in the same block.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
