• Friendly, courteous staff that was willing to help us around D.C. and be at assistance with all our needs and questions.
• Parking facilities were not sufficient and had to find other means, which lead to higher expenses.

• The room had a overpowering, noxious smell.

“This is a great hotel in a great location. You can easily walk to the National Mall, dining, shopping, and the metro (which is directly across the street). I slept very well and the rooms are very quiet and clean. The majority of the front desk staff was somewhat unfriendly and unhelpful, but the rest of the staff was wonderful. Expect to pay thirty dollars a night for hotel parking; not too bad considering it is safe and parking in DC is expensive. It can take a while to have your car brought around, so call ahead approximately thirty minutes before departure.”

• The indoor pool.
• The pool was too cold.

“The hotel was great. The restaurant staff was very friendly. The only complaint would be how hard it is to have your vehicle on the street while you wit to check in and wait for valet. The restaurant menu could be expanded also. Not much to choose from.”

• Great location in dc, clean, comfortable, and affordable.
• Not enough places to eat nearby that are open on weekends.

“The Hilton garden inn is located in a great location for all of the dc attractions. I walked to everything no problem. The metro is located directly across the street from the hotel. It is only 3 metro stops away from the Reagan national airport, and three additional stops away from the Smithsonian mall. Each ride is about 6 minutes long. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The accommodations exceeded my expectations. Staff was friendly and I never felt unsafe being located downtown. You can get everywhere you want on foot or by using the metro right at your doorstep! I recommend this hotel to others.”

“I will stay here again. The hotel is located steps from the Metro and walking distance to the Mall. There are a variety of good restaurants nearby, valet parking, indoor pool, etc. The staff was excellent-- very friendly and prompt.”

• The location of the hotel was very convenient and the room and bed were extremely comfortable.
• Upon arrival the hotel placed me in a room where someone was already staying. Very limited parking. Expensive breakfast. No breakfast in lobby.

“This hotel was in a very convenient location in Washington D.C. I also chose this hotel because it had a parking garage. Upon arrival there was no parking left so I had to pay 26.00 to have my car valeted. After confirming my hotel purchase and receiving my key I went up to my room where I noticed that someone was already staying there. I had to go back down, get a new key and new room number. When I finally got my room it was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Overall the hotel was very convenient and comfortable. I do think that customers could have been treated a little bit more (breakfast, more helpful staff etc.).”

• Desk staff & concierge were excellent, very courteous & helpful.
• Air conditioning in room could be better - inconsistent.

“Very short walk to White House, and Metro station (subway) across the street can get you anywhere in greater D.C. area, including Arlington and Alexandria and Mt. Vernon. Hotel staff are extremely friendly and attentive to your needs. We spent one week over Memorial Day seeing the sights, and concierge was excellent, location very convenient. Will probably do it again in the Fall.”

• Did not have room when we arrived. Overbooked and had to move to different hotel.

“Had written confirmation and called ahead to assure late arrival. No rooms were available when we arrived. They moved us to a different hotel at 1:00 in the morning.”

• The location was great for visiting the attractions and easy access to the Metro Station across the street.
• The cost of the restaurant and valet parking was a little pricy for a family of 6.

“The hotel was just right for our family visit to DC. We had quick access to visit all the attractions. The staff was friendly and always helpful. We would stay here again.”

• Clean, good coffee in the library.

“At check in, I was told I had a room with two beds for me and my 13 year old son at , no problem. But surprise, when I get to the room it is a king bed. Of course when I called front desk there was nothing else available. Blatant lies from the front desk. The rest of the trip we were pretty much ignored. Cold soup in the restaurant, overcooked burgers.”

• The location is great. Some staff is friendly.
• Seattle Best's waitress is not good enough.

“The location is great. It's really close to White House and National Mall is in walking distance. The metro station is right before the hotel. It's good to travel on weekend because free parking spaces are along the street or $20 per day for hotel valet parking during weekday. The only unsatisfying is that we were surcharged for breakfast and felt the bad service attitude in Seattle Best. It's a good idea to have breakfast in Starbucks in the same block.”

• It was beautifully decorated, very quiet and had a nice pool.
• The meals were a bit expensive and there is no complimentary breakfast.

“Overall, I truly enjoyed this hotel. It was located within walking distance of all of the sites we wanted to see in DC and it had a nice, clean pool to relax in after a day out sightseeing, though it was sadly missing a hot tub. The food, though expensive, was delicious. I recommend the cheese cake.”

• The location was perfect. It's located directly across from the Metro and pretty close to just about everything.
• The TV and the refrigerator made a lot of noise.

“For what we paid I thought it was a great deal. Everyone was very nice and the food downstairs was pretty good for hotel food. I accidentally left my diamond necklace in the room when we checked out. I went back to the hotel and the maid had found it and returned it. I thought that said a lot about there staff and I was very grateful.”

• Dinner delivered by room service was very good.
• Plastic soap dish and Kleenex containers were shoddy , looking in such a setting, were surprised at a $24 charge for parking.

• I did not like not knowing whether there would be two beds or not.

“The location of this hotel was excellent. It was within easy walking distance of the convention center, and there was a metro stop right across the street. There were also nice places to eat nearby. The quality of the hotel was excellent, especially for business travelers. There was free internet and printing available, which was very nice.”

• Very expensive if you have a car; ridiculously overpriced drinks and food.

“For a Hilton hotel, I was very disappointed. I have stayed in Best Westerns with nicer hotel rooms, the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, there was no mini bar in the room, and the air conditioner was very loud. While the amenities in the main part of the hotel were fine, overall I expected far better accommodations from the Hilton.”

“We pulled up to the door. The valet was there and very helpful. The front desk clerk was very friendly and assigned us a king, non smoking room. When we arrived at our room, our key did not work, but a housekeeping personal looked at our paper work and let us in and called the front desk to get us a key that did work. The Metro station is right across the street and has easy access. There are shopping places and coffee shops and deli's seconds from the front door. Everything was very clean. The pool was indoor and clear. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.”

• The charged me $15 for movies I didn't order.

“It is an great place to stay if downtown DC is your destination. The National Mall and the museums are in walking distance. The Metro is a half block away. There are some very good restaurants and bars within half mile. The only negatives were the unauthorized movie charge with they removed immediately and the housekeeper did not have our room on her list to clean, but did come when we brought it to her attention. Overall it was a very positive experience and I would stay there again.”

• No safe for valuables in the room; Refused to give me a safe deposit box at the registration desk.

“I will never stay in a Hilton Hotel again. They had no in-room safe to store my valuables, and claimed they had no available safe deposit boxes at the registration desk. No one volunteered then to put my valuables in a safe in the manager's office. They could have cared less. I was forced to attend my business conference carrying $500 in cash, my passport, and international tickets for the next leg of my trip. I moved to Sofitel around the corner where the service was extraordinary. I would NEVER stay in a Hilton Hotel again.”

• Elevators were excellent. Neighborhood had planet of places to eat cheaply
• Soft drink machines on each floor didn't take money or function.

• It was about 300 feet from the subway entrance.
• The water pressure in the shower was very weak.

• Someone at the front desk was very helpful and made sure we got a room with a double bed per my request
• The concierge was not helpful at all. see below

“For the most part this was a nice hotel. the bar closes at 10 though and that was a downer. it would have been nice to sit around the bar after our awards ceremony and have a drink. also, the concierge just was not helpful anytime we called. the day we were checking out, we had to check our luggage for a while. we had a lot of stuff b/c we had our infant daughter with us and the concierge seemed incredibily put out that we had all that stuff. we felt bad enough about it but his attitude didnt help any. everything else at this hotel was fine.”

• I especially liked the Hilton Garden Inn because of it's location to the metro and downtown attractions.
• I would have liked a sink outside of the bathroom.

“I found this hotel to be an excellent place for my friends and I to stay for our conference. It's location was great for the metro, or walking to the national mall to see the sights there. Overall, my stay was great! We used the pantry every night to pick up water, etc.”
