Kristin from Alcoa, TN
“The hotel was nice, but very disappointed with the parking arrangements. We stayed a total of 3 nights and were told every time that their garage was full and we would have to find our own parking. It was a major inconvenience to deal with on a daily basis and overnight. I would not stay here again solely based on this issue.” Jul 5, 2007 by
Avadhoot from Edison, NJ
“The location of the hotel is excellent. You can just walk down to see the attractions. Staff is very cooperative.” Jul 2, 2007 by
Kevin from Wauconda, IL
“The hotel is clean and modern. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing (double shower head). Had a nice workout room. Friendly staff.” Jun 30, 2007 by
Cindy from Gahanna, OH
“Gorgeous Westin quality - the "heavenly bed" is just that but the "heavenly bath" was even better- after a hot day in the city that double shower head and luxurious bath towels were a welcome bonus. The staff was wonderful- the carafe of fruit-infused waters in the lobby was a dream come true. Wonderful stay.” Jun 3, 2007 by
Alejandro C. from Austin, TX
“I would recommend improving quality of room service and lowering the costs of food in restaurant. I would also recommend providing better Internet service for hosts.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Daniel from Atlanta, GA
“It was clear the hotel was still completing renovation and there were a lot of little things wrong or not quite finished. The biggest problem was the AC. We asked them to fix it 4 times and they couldn't get it to work. They said they would send up a fan but they never did. The hotel was full so they couldn't move us. If the AC was working properly, it would have been a very different experience.” May 17, 2007 by
Emily from Royal Oak, MI
“The hotel was a little bit off of the main part of town, but it was a high quality hotel with big, plush rooms. The walls were a little too thin. I could hear my neighbors talking and watching TV.” May 11, 2007 by
Rachel from Fairfield, CT
“At 2:00 am I was given a room that was only partially cleaned. One of the beds obviously was lied upon with ruffled covers. There were signs of the previous guest in the room such as room keys and account bill left behind along with many finger prints and stains on the desk which were not wiped clean. My wake up call was never made. ” Apr 26, 2007 by
John from Brooklyn, NY
“Staff very friendly except for fire alarm malfunction stay was very nice.” Apr 12, 2007 by
Eric from North York, ON CA
“The hotel was under renovation at the time of stay. This was not identified to the guests until time of arrival. Service was extremely disorganized. 1. On property parking was not available. We were forced to find alternate parking each night. 2. The request for a double bed was not fulfilled until the 2nd night. 3. No 'Do not disturb' sign was available. Cleaning service began knocking on the door very early in the morning. 4. The room safe was missing. There was a sign on how to use the safe, but physically there was not one.” Apr 10, 2007 by
Sandra from Chicago, IL
“The staff members are very pleasant and try to please. However, please be aware that extensive renovations are going on. You may be awakened by the sound of construction as early as 8:00 a.m. And it can go on as long as 6:00 p.m. The double bed in my room was too soft for my taste, but I was able to get a bed board to deal with that issue. I have stayed at this hotel before and have found it to be very good. I would suggest that you wait until the construction ends before you book any rooms here.” Apr 10, 2007 by
Jim from Tipp City, OH
“When we showed up, they were unable to park our urban, we had to go a quarter mile away. This would not have been a problem expect I called them 2x prior. Our internet and cable did not work in our rooms; our plumbing was down for several hours with no warning for construction. Valley and bell hops were rude as well. I have stayed in several wyndham hotels in the past; this was by far the worse experience I have had at any hotel.” Apr 9, 2007 by
Rashawn from Shaker Heights, OH
“The hotel was not as posh as I thought it should be for the money. Being in downtown DC I knew it would be a bit more expensive, neat, clean and plain.” Apr 8, 2007 by
Paul from Belpre, OH
“Wait until remodeling is complete.” Apr 4, 2007 by
Rachel from Maynard, MA
“The lobby is under renovations at this time so it was messy, fitness room closed, noisy otherwise, room was nice, although lounge & chair were uncomfortable. Bed was very comfortable great location.” Apr 4, 2007 by
Craig from Saint Louis, MO
“Very nice service. Kids menu reasonably priced.” Mar 27, 2007 by
Lupe from Austin, TX
“This hotel is okay and needs renovation. The furniture looks old. It is conveniently located and the staff was very good and very helpful. If I had known it was under renovation, I would not have stayed there. Construction noise woke me up earlier than anticipated. Noisy kids next door work me up at 4 a.m. At this time, I do not recommend it to anyone, hence the low marks. After remodeled is completed, then it will be a pretty good place to stay.” Mar 19, 2007 by
Sandy from Elkins Park, PA
“The wyndham is an inviting hotel. Liked the arrangement of the rooms overlooking an atrium which made the room ultra quiet! Everything was clean and comfortable. I particularly liked the bedding.” Mar 19, 2007 by
Claudia from Chula Vista, CA
“The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the red line metro, which goes directly to all the tourist areas. The hotel is undergoing a renovation and will become a west in so they aren't paying much attention to detail in the decor. The sheets were very rough and the pillows were uncomfortable (I didn't get the soft pillows as per my Wenham by request specifications). Everything was just ok. There is a cave across the street, which is convenient. ” Mar 17, 2007 by
Renee from Okeechobee, FL
“Conveniently located . Excellent restaurant. Wonderful room service menu. Excellent concierge service!” Feb 26, 2007 by
Anne from Am. Fork, UT
“The staff were all amazingly helpful and friendly. The room was clean, and there was plenty of piping hot water. The temperatures outside were terrible and it was lovely to come back to hot showers and free hot chocolate and wassail in the lobby.” Feb 25, 2007 by
Normadene from Stratford, CT
“I loved this hotel, the room was clean and pretty, the staff was very nice and friendly. Its close to the major attractions. I will definitely stay there again.” Feb 25, 2007 by
Jeff from Dallas, TX
“Hotel management sets a tone amongst staff of outstanding customer service, real pampering, attention to small details and a sincerity of concern for the guest that really caught my attention. The beds are really comfortable. The location is great. I jogged around the Whitehouse every day and was nearby most of my important meetings in DC.” Feb 24, 2007 by
Phaik from Austin, TX
“I love the mattress we had. I am planning to purchase it soon. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. I saw some guests got really upset upon arrival as the entrance was under contraction. We had to squeeze through the little bellman's entrance where everyone was trying to get through with their luggage and everything else. This is lack of planning. We were there for 5 days, business and pleasure trip. ” Feb 23, 2007 by
David from Altoona, PA
“The stay was great everything went well. ” Feb 22, 2007 by
Ray from Bedford, NH
“The hotel is in the final stages of being renovated. The main entrance doors were being replaced. Lobby was very cold and noisy. Not a very pleasant situation if you planned to spend any amount of time there. Once the renovations are completed, it will be very nice. But obviously, during the construction phase it wasn't. Because of our agenda, we didn¿t have to spend much time in the hotel!” Feb 21, 2007 by
Heidi from Oakdale, CT
“Awful, already filed complaint with you and them - please feel free to contact me 860-859-3463.” Feb 18, 2007 by
Denise from Washington, DC
“Nice enough hotel, comfortable rooms, very quiet and very soft lighting - couldn't even see in the shower with the curtain across! The reception desk is a bit tucked away though. Hotel instructions are outdated, they mention the bar fridge which was non existent, the ice makers were not where they were supposed to be and there was no lighting over the coffee maker which made it impossible to see what you were doing. This was all on our one night stay, but I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wanted to stay.” Feb 13, 2007 by
Andrea from Astoria, NY
“Decent place, reasonably priced for its location, presumably due to the construction currently going on there. Windows in the rooms don¿t look out. They overlook the central lobby area, which means that you can¿t open the window to get fresh air. I traveled in February, so that was okay, but I imagine that would be annoying in the warmer months.” Feb 5, 2007 by
Pat from Fairfield, CT
“I don¿t blame the hotel, it was being renovated. Price should have warned us that the hotel was in such shambles.” Feb 3, 2007 by
Joey from New York, NY
“The hotel was under construction, so there was no hot water for an evening and they started working in the room next door early.” Feb 2, 2007 by
Susan from Cumberland, ON CA
“Currently undergoing renovations. Considerate with guests about the inconveniences (e.g., noise, unfinished lobby, temporary water issue). Failed to deliver ordered room-service breakfast. Food was quite good. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom has a nice shower, and the guest room was very spacious.” Jan 30, 2007 by
Beverly from Bozeman, MT
“I received a far better room the first time I booked this hotel. The combination of lobby renovations and the room location made this far less pleasant.” Jan 29, 2007 by
Larry from Fairfax, VA
“I asked the desk not to slide a bill under the door, late sleeper. They assured me they would not, they did it. The hotel was under renovation, loud equipment in use at 7 am. Parking would not accommodate my SUV, never had the problem before.” Jan 22, 2007 by
Eugene from Belview, MN
“I found the bell staff, front desk staff the concierge and the bartender very professional, very friendly and very accommodating.” Jan 12, 2007 by
Connie from Brooklyn, NY
“The staff was very friendly and the rooms were decent although not big. The rooms look out into the inside of the hotel and I would have preferred a hotel where the windows looked outside and where I could have gotten sunlight. The construction did bother me as I was disturbed twice while sleeping at night - by a knock on the door by a plumber who was told my room was unoccupied and later on a drilling sound that lasted only for about a minute, but loud enough to hear) and as a result I could not sleep the entire night and was tired the following morning. The hotel was a little further away than I expected and next time I would prefer to sty somewhere closer to the museums and memorials to save time. The hotel itself was decent.” Jan 8, 2007 by
Cynthia from Colorado Springs, CO
“This hotel was beautiful. Check in and check out was a breeze. The breakfast buffet was top notch but very expensive. Even if we'd wanted to sleep in though we couldn't have. They were doing some kind of construction in the hotel and would start at 8 a.m. With the atrium style of the building the sound echoed very loudly throughout the hotel, even vibrating the floor under the beds in the room. It would have been nice to have been given some kind of warning. Additionally, housekeeping started banging on the door at 8:15 a.m. Checkout isn't until noon. There really was no excuse for it.” Dec 11, 2006 by
Mike from Charlotte, NC
“An excellent experience. The price was right and the service was very good.” Dec 10, 2006 by
Florence from Columbus, OH
“Hotel was very clean door man was very knowledgeable in giving directions around the city valet parking was very prompt.” Nov 4, 2006 by
Sh from Drexel Hill, PA
“A great hotel at a great location at great price with great staff.” Sep 27, 2006 by
Javier from Brooklyn, NY
“I will love to go back.” Sep 6, 2006 by
Claudia from Jersey City, NJ
“Convenient to 14th Street and quiet except during renovations, which will be done in December.” Sep 3, 2006 by
William from Washington, DC
“Extensive renovations being undertaken at present, no parking available for guests, expensive Internet connection, no phone jack available for dial-up Internet.” Sep 2, 2006 by
Terence from Raleigh, NC
“For the most part the hotel was great. The location and price was good for the things I had planned. The front desk and housekeeping staff were great. On the downside, aside for one young man, the restaurant staff were nonchalant and not really customer service oriented. At breakfast it seemed non of them smiled ( I guess they weren't morning people)and they on had one speed( slow); it seemed the restaurant managers were the only ones who cared whether you ate or not. There was a chess tournament in the hotel and the people were hogging all the tables in the restaurant and bar even though they were not eating or drinking and management did not seem to care that others would like to spend money. Also there was only one bartender on staff at a time for the entire weekend and he was pleasant but only had one speed also. The lobby porters/ valet seemed more like a hustle. One would show to get your door, unload your luggage onto a cart get a tip and while you check in, he'll disappear. They say for insurance purposes that they prefer you not to push the carts so you are given another porter to take your luggage whom also expect a tip. Lastly room service and parking is way overpriced. You may order a $9.95 ham croissant and by the time you pay surcharges and tip, it may cost you $22.00.” Aug 26, 2006 by
Sandy from Oakland, CA
“IT was a great value--a terrific hotel for D.C., well-located and beautiful. My family loved it.” Aug 23, 2006 by
Ben from Sanford, NC
“Parking is expensive, on the weekend I would suggest getting a spot on the street. Only a few blocks away from everything you want to see. Easy walk to the White House. Room reminded me of a motel 6.” Aug 21, 2006 by
Eric from Milton, WI
“Nice hotel, on tourist trolley route, not too far from metro station, but expensive to park there.” Aug 20, 2006 by
Jessica from Sitka, AK
“I think that a "regular" room in this hotel may be very nice. We didn't have the opportunity to see a regular room, however. When we checked in, we were told that there were no rooms left, other than the Presidential Suite or a "parlor" We were given, as you can imagine, the second choice. The room did not have a regular bed, but rather a very small sofa hide-a-bed. We spent a sleepless night rolling into each other in the sunken center of the "bed." It was ridiculous.” Aug 14, 2006 by
Mike from Avon, CT
“The front desk and bellman service was very good. Unfortunately, the rooms were disgusting. The first room we had came with someone's toe nails on the bed cover. I requested another room. The next room had the stench of vomit. It wasn't even close. The stay was a very poor experience. The hotel informed me that they were redoing the rooms and would reopen as a "W" hotel but until that time I would suggest avoiding the Wyndham.” Aug 5, 2006 by
Nikki from Overland Park, KS
“I really enjoyed my stay! The hotel is in a very good location, in walking distance from good restaurants and the metro. I will stay there again if I am ever in the area.” Hotel Representatives:
