Kevin from Cabin John, MD
“I stayed at the Westin for 2 nights. The room was clean. That is about all I can say on the plus side. On the second night, they had problems with the internet connection. I had important work to do and had to leave the hotel to find a place to connect. I called guest services and they said they were having problems. These problems were still not resolved the next morning.” Aug 23, 2008 by
Stephanie from Southern Shores, NC
“The hotel staff is friendly and nice. The rooms are comfortable and the lobby is nice. The internet access is good too which is important.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Kerry from Mequon, WI
“Room was nice but no plastic liners were in trash cans or provided for ice bucket. Water was available for $5.00 charge was missing, but to the hotel's credit they did not charge after finally (2nd trip to front desk) notating on account. I've had better service at Holiday Inns and the internet was free.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Roslyn from Flossmoor, IL
“The Westin in Washington DC is an exquisite hotel, one that it would love to return to and stay a little longer. The staff was very polite and willing to assist in whatever capacity we needed.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Bruce from Red Hook, NM
“Super friendly staff and concierge, great location close to all major attractions. Room was very nicely furnished and spotless rooms tend to be a little on the small side would have liked to have had a small fridge in the room most 4 star hotels have them!” Aug 18, 2008 by
Dave from Fairbanks, AK
“When we came back to the room, the evening after the first night, our room keys would not open the door. I went to the front desk to see why and after some time and having to talk to two desk clerks was told that our keys had been demagnetized by something. When we were given the new keys we found that the room had not been serviced either.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Rich from Exton, PA
“2 things make me actually hate the Westin. First, I took the elevator to what I believed was my car's level - P3. When I got off I was trapped in the parking garage. You need a key to escape! It took me 45 minutes to break out of the emergency exit. It was a horrible experience. I am afraid children could experience the same thing. The hotel is unsafe. Secondly, I couldn't sleep after the experience and I went to the hotel lobby to read a book rather than turn on a light in my room and wake my wife. The security guard came and made me move from the couch I was sitting on! He claimed a conference was starting (it was 5:45AM) and that I couldn't sit there and I had to sit in noisy lobby and read with the television blaring. It was completely ridiculous - you had to be there to experience it. This Westin is unsafe and the personnel are rude, in my opinion.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Karla from Oshkosh, WI
“The Westin was a great place to stay while in D.C. Very clean, comfortable spaces, nice television and comfortable beds. From valet to porter, front desk to maid and dining room staff, we were very pleased.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Koren from Hanson, MA
“The hotel exceeded our expectations, however I was shocked to find out parking was not included in the room. As a guest I had to pay $35 per night and had to park in the garage next door to the hotel. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Dave from Wheeling, WV
“Good value, conveniently located, great bedding.” Feb 18, 2008 by
Walt from Sayreville, NJ
“Very nice hotel. I've stayed in this hotel before. There was a great deal of confusion at check-in because I was a day late in arriving (car problems). I called them when I had the problem, but still the check-in process did not go smoothly when I arrived. It was finally all straightened out and things were all good after that.” Jan 19, 2008 by
M.G. from Tempe, AZ
“Location is not bad (10~15 min to Subway Station). Wonderful interior. But, a person in the information desk was somehow rude. I felt very unpleasant. Overall very good.” Dec 6, 2007 by
Susan from Eugene, OR
“Very good location; would stay here again.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Adrian from Greenville, NC
“An upscale romantic getaway that will also suit business and convention like travels a like. Nice flat screen HD TV with net access, desk with built in electronics for every situations and still perfect to rekindle the flames! I love and will stay again very soon!” Nov 13, 2007 by
Susan from Mahwah, NJ
“Very modern. Facilities were very nice. A brisk 10 minute walks to the metro.” Nov 11, 2007 by
Rich from Waynesboro, VA
“This seemed to be a very nice hotel for businessmen. It was close enough to walk to the Verizon center. Parking was not cheap at $35 per night. The center of the hotel is open with a glass top so that all the inside rooms have a window looking in. I didn't like that everyone could look in so I closed the curtains. Smoke free environment.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Ben from Brighton, IL
“This hotel was a fair experience; the staff was very friendly and helpful, but anything extra was way overpriced. Exs: $4 for a snickers bar $35 parking, $5 bottle of water, $13 for pay per view movie.” Nov 5, 2007 by
Jennifer from Staten Island, NY
“Turns out when we arrived that we had in fact stayed at this hotel the last time we were in Washington, but as a Wyndham I believe, not as a Westin. Again, great location, walking distance for us to the white house etc., with comfortable, but not huge, rooms with great beds. Breakfast a little expensive, but plenty of great breakfast places a short walk from hotel. Would definitely stay again.” Oct 16, 2007 by
Jennifer from Grand Forks, ND
“The hotel was clean and the rooms were very elegant and comfortable.” Oct 11, 2007 by
Walter from Chicago, IL
“The room was fine and the location was great. My issue with my stay was that I sent my shirt in to be laundered at 5:00 a.m. on Friday morning and I didn't receive my shirt until Sunday night. They delivered my shirt to the wrong room and the person in that room wore it. I called four times and was told they would investigate because they had no idea where my shirt was. They stated that they would contact me and I never received a response until my 4th call which is when they told me it was delivered to the wrong room and had been worn by the guest in that room. Since there were no cleaners open on Sunday, they would have to wash it in their own machines and would have someone press it. The shirt came back smelling of the stench of their towels and bed linens and whoever ironed the shirt did a poor job. I had to go to work looking like a mess and smelling like hotel laundry. I would stay at the hotel again, but I would never use any of their guest services.” Oct 11, 2007 by
Kathleen from Kenyon, MN
“Would not hesitate to stay at the Westin DC again!” Oct 8, 2007 by
Gordon from Middlebury, IN
“This location was good but this is definitely a place where you are expected to have business pay for all your expenses because they want to add them up. Very nice room but don't drink the bottled water, its $5.” Sep 18, 2007 by
Daniel from Warrington GB
“Good clean hotel, convenient for metro. Helpful & informative staff, and air-con in room. Large cool foyer. Overall, hotel seemed a calm relaxing place to be.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Mario from Washington, DC
“Overall I love the staff that checked me in and I loved the room as well.” Sep 3, 2007 by
Erik from Hutto, TX
“Upscale touches and conveniences (the fruit infused water in the lobby was a nice welcome after a warm day) abound. Concierge was always very helpful and made a great recommendation/reservation for a nearby eatery for dinner (we had a 2-yr old with us, and needed someplace that wouldn't turn up their nose). Only drawback was paying $30/night for parking in their garage, and praying that there was space.” Sep 3, 2007 by
Ted from Fremont, CA
“Excellent location and comfortable rooms.” Sep 2, 2007 by
Sandy from Lynnwood, WA
“The hotel was conveniently located 5 blocks from the white house. The night tour of the monuments left directly from the hotel and provided a great opportunity to see our Nations capitol.” Aug 31, 2007 by
Hal from Fredericksburg, VA
“Great hotel for the price. Staff was excellent. Valet service was great. Highly recommended.” Aug 28, 2007 by
Tammy from Fairfield, ME
“I would stay again; you are at the mercy of the person checking you in as to what you get for a room. The parking fees are $35 a day, which I found to be expensive. The rooms where nice, the view not very good. We had an interior (atrium) room just above the bar area, it was very noisy at night.” Aug 18, 2007 by
Sal from Newington, CT
“This was an excellent value.” Aug 13, 2007 by
Molly from St Peters, MO
“This hotel was perfect for our family vacation to DC. The beds were comfortable, staff gracious and very helpful.” Aug 4, 2007 by
Jim from Williamsburg, VA
“Well located in the D.C area to White House and Mall offerings. Comfortable beds and quiet rooms.” Aug 2, 2007 by
Kendra from North Branford, CT
“It was wonderful and the staffs were very helpful and ready to serve. We were met with ice water and soft drinks as soon as we got into the hotel. It was such a wonderfully comfortable upscale hotel. We loved it a lot.” Jul 30, 2007 by
Jolie from Staten Island, NY
“The Westin was pretty upscale with a friendly staff. It was walking distance to some nice restaurants, whole foods and the main DC attractions. It was also close to metro stations that took you all around DC. Overall, I had a very lovely stay.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Tim from Crossville, TN
“Nice, clean, centrally located hotel. For the most part, great staff. The room was comfortable and quiet, which was a plus after driving all night from KY. The bath was large and comfortable as were the beds. The brunch buffet was excellent. Overall, a pleasant stay.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Martin from Palatine, IL
“Worked out well.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Ernest from Hilliard, OH
“This is a very nice hotel with large rooms/baths and flat panel TVs. I was disappointed that I booked a room with a King size bed and was informed at check-in that they did not have any available. Instead, I was placed in a room with two twin beds.” Jul 11, 2007 by
Ken from Milpitas, CA
“Rooms are large, very modern with flat panel TV, comfortable beds, and new furniture and clean. Great Location! About a 10 minute walk to the Whitehouse. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance and a convenience store around the corner. Staff was great! They often greeted me by name whenever I arrived back at the hotel (which is a nice touch). I traveled with my elderly mother and the staff went well out of their way to make us both feel comfortable. This hotel will definitely be my first choice for my next trip to Washington.” Jul 10, 2007 by
Andrea from Fort Myers, FL
“The hotel was awesome. Great location and close to the subway. The beds and showers were great.” Jul 9, 2007 by
Nancy from Fountain Valley, CA
“Very nice hotel with wonderful beds! The room has a view of the inner courtyard. It was in walking distance of everything we wanted to see, but we are walkers. Some people may prefer to be a few blocks closer to the mall or use a taxi. We had a little trouble at first finding it as the sign was not easily visible from the street we had walked down from the Metro. It was a great experience being in Washington for July 4th and what a deal on our room!” Jul 9, 2007 by
Kristin from Alcoa, TN
“The hotel was nice, but very disappointed with the parking arrangements. We stayed a total of 3 nights and were told every time that their garage was full and we would have to find our own parking. It was a major inconvenience to deal with on a daily basis and overnight. I would not stay here again solely based on this issue.” Jul 5, 2007 by
Avadhoot from Edison, NJ
“The location of the hotel is excellent. You can just walk down to see the attractions. Staff is very cooperative.” Jul 2, 2007 by
Kevin from Wauconda, IL
“The hotel is clean and modern. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing (double shower head). Had a nice workout room. Friendly staff.” Jun 30, 2007 by
Cindy from Gahanna, OH
“Gorgeous Westin quality - the "heavenly bed" is just that but the "heavenly bath" was even better- after a hot day in the city that double shower head and luxurious bath towels were a welcome bonus. The staff was wonderful- the carafe of fruit-infused waters in the lobby was a dream come true. Wonderful stay.” Jun 3, 2007 by
Alejandro C. from Austin, TX
“I would recommend improving quality of room service and lowering the costs of food in restaurant. I would also recommend providing better Internet service for hosts.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Daniel from Atlanta, GA
“It was clear the hotel was still completing renovation and there were a lot of little things wrong or not quite finished. The biggest problem was the AC. We asked them to fix it 4 times and they couldn't get it to work. They said they would send up a fan but they never did. The hotel was full so they couldn't move us. If the AC was working properly, it would have been a very different experience.” May 17, 2007 by
Emily from Royal Oak, MI
“The hotel was a little bit off of the main part of town, but it was a high quality hotel with big, plush rooms. The walls were a little too thin. I could hear my neighbors talking and watching TV.” May 11, 2007 by
Rachel from Fairfield, CT
“At 2:00 am I was given a room that was only partially cleaned. One of the beds obviously was lied upon with ruffled covers. There were signs of the previous guest in the room such as room keys and account bill left behind along with many finger prints and stains on the desk which were not wiped clean. My wake up call was never made. ” Apr 26, 2007 by
John from Brooklyn, NY
“Staff very friendly except for fire alarm malfunction stay was very nice.” Apr 12, 2007 by
Eric from North York, ON CA
“The hotel was under renovation at the time of stay. This was not identified to the guests until time of arrival. Service was extremely disorganized. 1. On property parking was not available. We were forced to find alternate parking each night. 2. The request for a double bed was not fulfilled until the 2nd night. 3. No 'Do not disturb' sign was available. Cleaning service began knocking on the door very early in the morning. 4. The room safe was missing. There was a sign on how to use the safe, but physically there was not one.”
