“Friendly staff and excellent bedding and pillows. There was a sweaty smell in the room.” Jul 28, 2009 by
John from Roseville,MN
“I have never written a review this glowing about a hotel. Although there was no concierge, the staff was really knowledgeable and on the money with excellent advice. The free quality coffee in the lobby and the can do attitude of everyone is the real reason this hotel stands out. The hotel was very clean and trouble free, but the staff was wonderful. They said hello, they were really nice people.” Jul 18, 2009 by
John from South Bend,IN
“The hotel was great. We were travelling with 3 small children. The room was pretty much standard for a Courtyard Marriot, which in my opinion is good. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Great place to stay in DC.” Jan 12, 2009 by
Rodica from Milledgeville,GA
“This is a hotel one would like to use again after the first time. Even the valet parking was not so dificult as in other hotels, and not very expensive for Washington DC.” Jan 7, 2009 by
Samuel from Nyc,NY
“Room was comfortable with plenty of room to work and relaxe. Restaurant served good food, both dinner and breakfast. Snack bar was well stocked. The hotel is in a neighborhood with limited parking so the valet fee should be reconsidered. Our room overlooked a delivery alley so after 4:00am between the garbage trucks and deliveries you couldn't sleep.” Nov 15, 2008 by
Shay from Blacksburg,VA
“Great location. Friendly & helpful staff. Clean rooms

“The price of the room was pretty good. The worst part about it was there was no on street parking at all, so you were forced to pay the $30 valet fee. Also, the in-hotel restaurant was very expensive as well. $25 for a hamburger? I will most likely never go there again.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Zandra from Richmond, VA
“Overall, having a hotel with modern conveniences and great location in Washington DC made our vacation much more enjoyable.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Jack from Denver, CO
“Hotel far exceeded my expectations, made my stay in DC very memorable.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Bill from Camp Lejeune, NC
“Hotel was ok for business travel; clean, polite staff, etc. Room was small, no refrigerator or microwave in room and ridiculous prices for snacks and sundries meant having to go out for every meal and nowhere to keep items bought outside such as soft drinks or fresh fruit and juice. A free continental breakfast bar would have meant a lot and helped save some cash in a DC economy. Parking was $28 per day with no other alternatives and no street parking. Gym was surprising nice, though pool was a bit small for laps. Pleasantly surprised by presence of free weights (dumb bells) in gym. A pull-up bar and a matted area to stretch and do push-ups/crunches/yoga/etc. Would make it a lot more functional and make it a truly exceptional find among hotel gyms. Hotel restaurant was pricy for business travel without expense account. Would not appose returning.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Susan from Harper Woods, MI
“I will never go to this hotel again but I will go to another Marriott in any other state. For the price this hotel doesn't qualify and the staff treat you with prejudicial behavior. If you look rich then you get A1 treatment if not you are ignored!” Aug 8, 2008 by
Kathleen from Albany, GA
“Courtyard Embassy Row is situated among the embassies along Massachusetts Avenue. It is several blocks south of Dupont Circle (and the closest Metro) but walking in the area is safe and pleasant. Very close to St. Matthew's Cathedral. Not so close to somewhere convenient for a quick breakfast. We stopped in several hours early to drop off luggage and were incredibly pleased when they let us check in then. Kudos! Friendly staff all around. The room was clean and comfortable. We faced the front so noise from emergency vehicles was an issue. Fancy coffee machine in lobby offered several coffee options but was time consuming, especially if you just wanted hot water for tea and were stuck behind three people who wanted mocha latte whipped etc. etc. However, the basket of fresh apples at the front desk was a welcome treat in the morning. And you have to love that all Marriott properties are completely smoke free.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Linda from Roseville, MN
“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and styling of the room furnishings. All the staff was very helpful and when the computers were busy when I wanted to print my boarding pass, he let me use one in the back room. They had free coffee/tea 24/7 and in the afternoon, coming back hot and tired, they had lemonade (from a mix) and ice tea for the hotel guests. That was a very nice touch. It is rather a walk from the metro, but all in all it was a very nice hotel experience and I travel a lot.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Dale from Lexington, KY
“My family and I stayed at the Courtyard By Marriott Embassy Row during July. The hotel is located a few blocks north of the White House and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. We really enjoyed taking long walks. Cabs and mass transit are readily available for people who like to get places as fast as you can in Washington D.C. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The exercise area and pool were a nice way to end a day of exploring the city.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Vickie from Erlanger, KY
“Hotel was great! Location, staff, cleanliness and current/updated decor. I would like to see the hotel offer free continental breakfast. The restaurant was extremely pricey. Two cheeseburgers with fries, two drinks, one bowl of soup and two cups of coffee cost $50. Good food, but definitely not work $50.” Jun 15, 2008 by
Pat from Spring Hill, FL
“A very nice hotel, close to Metro and attractions.” May 31, 2008 by
Shawn F. from Alexandria, VA
“This hotel is the best. They always put me in a safe and secure hotel and this was #1. Keep up the good work! See you soon.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Agnes from Galloway, NJ
“I enjoyed the hotel and the staff was friendly. I was only there one day and my only problem was that the elevator was not working on Sunday and we had to carry our luggage and use the stairs. The hotel was immaculate and that is very important to me.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Stephanie from Monroe Twp., NJ
“Very Clean. Staff was very accommodating to special requests. Facilities well maintained. We would all be happy to stay there again.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Jonathan from Norwood, OH
“This hotel was very well maintained and didn't have any problems. Except, to repeat, that the $25 per night parking fee was ridiculous and totally unexpected!” Mar 17, 2008 by
Michelle from Richmond, VA
“Overall, my stay at this hotel was very nice.” Mar 16, 2008 by
Dorian from Ohio
“TERRIBLE exp.; no breakfast room service, no restaurant to eat in when closed for a private function, internet service in my room never worked; had to change rooms TWICE! Not a good exp at all.” Jan 18, 2008 by
Monica from Baltimore, MD
“This site is in a great, central location. Perfect for business travelers or sight-seers - Centrally located to area businesses; easy to get to Downtown; not far from several Metro stations, and walking distance to the vibrant Dupont Circle neighborhood. The best part of the hotel was the pool and hot-tub. It was separated from the gym in a quiet space and open late for those arriving late as we did. It was a great way to unwind after working and traveling all day. Flat screen TVs in the rooms were great too!” Dec 2, 2007 by
Paulette from Nashville, TN
“The hotel was really lovely. Though I did not eat in the restaurant, several guests said the food was fabulous. The Embassy Row designation in the name is somewhat misleading, because the traditional Embassy Row on upper Mass Ave where the embassies are located is a good distance away. I was pleased with the experience, even though I got a handicapped room. It was spacious with no obstructions. The complimentary computers were available 24 hours and that was very good. I prefer those to the timed pay computers that some hotels use. They were somewhat slow, however, and past their prime. The printer was also extremely slow, but it was there and it was free. Most people have a laptop, but I did not. This was my first experience and I will definitely try it again. Since different cities have different standards, the absolute nature of the selection with no recourse if the hotel does not meet one's expectation of that level rating of hotels.” Oct 24, 2007 by
Jim from Lillington, NC
“Excellent hotel. More excellent service to make arrangements for the room specifics needed for me as a traveler. After sale service was what made this transaction outstanding.” Oct 7, 2007 by
Whitney from Topanga, CA
“I hated it. The staff was the reason. No customer accommodation. Location was fine.” Aug 25, 2007 by
Stephen from Patchogue, NY
“The room was very clean and comfortable. Upon check-out, we had a horrible experience. The valet took about 30 minutes to retrieve my truck. We found out that the reason for this was because my battery died as a result of someone using my satellite radio and not turning it off while we stayed at the hotel. I find it very alarming that the staff would use my personal property without us knowing.” Aug 18, 2007 by
Crystal from Browns Mills, NJ
“The Nage restaurant was closed and the hotel personnel did not have access to it. They also could not offer us any utensils - plastic or otherwise. My boyfriend had to leave the hotel, go across the street to another hotel, just to get us some spoons so we could eat the desserts that we bought earlier. Overall, our stay at this hotel was good. Valet personnel were all great as well as some of the other front desk personnel. Hotel is good for business travelers. Not sure if I would stay at this hotel again.” Jul 27, 2007 by
Antonio from Brooklyn, NY
“Very nice. Family wish that we knew that there was a pool. Restaurant is overpriced.” Jul 13, 2007 by
M from Wantagh, NY
“Better for business travelers than families. Convenient to business district.” Jun 20, 2007 by
Cindy from Granger, IA
“Extremely nice, large rooms, with all the amenities including hair dryer, iron/board, flat screen TV, sitting area and of view of the city. Pool area is very small and only takes a few people to feel crowded (located in basement). Great workout room. Only 4 blocks from the Metro station. Restaurant is good, but pricey - especially for breakfast. Great little bar for a night cap. We would have loved to sit in their "courtyard" in the evening, but there were no tables or chairs. Since we were traveling for pleasure, it was nice to have a computer in the lobby to check emails and to print our boarding passes. I work in the hotel business and I am very critical, but they do a nice job!” May 7, 2007 by
Crystal from Ann Arbor, MI
“I had great experience at courtyard Marriott embassy row. As a leisure traveler, I found it in walking distance to almost every sightseeing place. ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 3, 2007 by

“The hotel is smart and convenient. It's close to Connecticut avenue and Dupont circle.” Apr 13, 2007 by
Jaki from Durham, NC
“Great hotel in a great location. Comfortable rooms.” Apr 9, 2007 by
Kim from Philadelphia, PA
“Pleased with our stay.” Apr 6, 2007 by
Allen from Lilburn, GA
“This hotel met all of my expectations. The rooms were adequate and well maintained. The kids loved the plasma TV and the pool. I feel the valet parking fee of $25 per day was a little steep, but I must note that I was only charged the parking fee for the full days we were in town (not for the day we arrived or the day we left. that was nice).” Mar 22, 2007 by
Melissa from Windsor, CT
“Upon check in with my spouse and 3 children the clerk behind the counter never made eye contact or greeted us. Once she gave us our room key and we got to the room it was a single king bed in the room. I immediately called to the front desk to see about getting a room with 2 twins and the same clerk said she was in the middle of something and would be right with me. I asked how long it would take she said 10-15 minutes. I waited 1 1/2 hours and decided just to go to front desk. She had left for day and never told new staff about our problem. That girl and guy got us immediately into another room. At check out we asked to speak to manager to find out why we had been left hanging and was told our Names and number would be left for him since he was not in and he never called us. This completely ruined our day trip to Washington dc. We are extremely disappointed in the service we were given.” Jan 27, 2007 by
Joel from Wendell, NC
“Great place to stay - the rate was good; however, I wish they could work out some kind of deal for at least a reduction in parking prices ($25/night plus tax was the parking fee). Very clean in all areas, nice small gym room, the indoor pool/spa area was very nice as well. They were out of regular non-smoking rooms with king beds, so they put me in a handicapped room. Since my room was for handicapped people, I don't know how it compares with the regular ones, but it was unbelievably spacious (including the bathroom), the floor looked clean enough to eat off of, and the king bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! I wish I could have smuggled that mattress out in my luggage! The only complaint I have is that the housekeeping people knocked on my door to clean the room when I had the "privacy please" sign up. Then they called about 10 minutes later to see when I was going out for the day (I had already been out, went to my business meeting, and returned). They seriously messed up the really good Nap I was taking!” Dec 11, 2006 by

“Great hotel. Great location.” Aug 18, 2006 by
Marcello from Lubbock, TX
“The hotel is in a convenient location, at walking distance from the White House and National Mall. It is also close to several restaurants and coffee houses. Also close to the zoo and Georgetown. The rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely furnished.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 1, 2006 by

“We chose this hotel primarily for its location. We enjoyed being in close proximity to the White House, which is what we were interested in touring. As a young family, we would have enjoyed more family amenities, like a continental breakfast, because we were on the go a lot. However, we enjoyed the high-class linens and the availability of the pool and fitness room. Overall our stay was adequate for the price, although it would have been helpful if parking fees had been included in the price. ” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.May 31, 2006 by

“Lights did not work in room, was never fixed or offered to change. Night front desk personnel more interested in talking on phone to girlfriends, etc., making guests wait. Told fresh apples would be available in morning, morning staff said they don't put out apples. Left behind pants, called, told sorry, they couldn't forward.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 26, 2006 by
