  • Beautiful public space with a rich history enjoy.
  • There were nail clippings on my rooms, rug so cleanliness an issue.

“Lovely hotel in excellent location. Staff was professional and provided excellent suggestions. If you like history, be sure to walk the length of the lobby and read the markers, didn't fully appreciate hotels political history. Rooms well appointed but not as clean as should be expected in a four star hotel!”

  • The location of this hotel was outstanding. The entry/lobby was beautiful.
  • The bathroom in room needs repair..

“The Mayflower is a beautiful hotel in a great location. It was very convenient for travel with a family group. Just steps to the Metro, or an easy walk to anywhere when the weather is nice. The rooms were very comfortable for an extended stay. There were plenty of good restaurateurs at every price range within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Mayflower to others.”

  • Location.
  • Room, staff, expensive restaurant.

“The room was small, which would have been okay, but it was extremely dark to the point we could not find the thermostat and once we did it could not be seen without a flashlight. The front desk clerk when we checked in was rude and short with us. The rest of the staff was very nice, however. We ate in the restaurant, which was okay, but very overpriced.”

  • Elegant, helpful staff, clean, nice size rooms and upgrades are worth the price.
  • The only thing I can recommend is to have the tv's in the rooms at eye level.

“We truly enjoyed our stay, it was elegant with a nice inviting and traditional feel, very clean and comfortable surroundings, we would stay there again.”

  • Location is very good. Right in the heart of the downtown. Safe neighborhood & 0.5 mile from White House. Close to restaurants and public transport.
  • Staff is impolite and not helpful. No good amenities like dining or pool, expensive parking. Room was full of dust and items were dirty, and there were less towels.

“Mayflower hotel has one plus point that is the location. Apart from that there is nothing much at all to praise about. Rooms are small and dirty. No facilities or amenities. It was written that there is internet in the room but when we checked in we were told that its not free ($13/day), no toiletries which is a basic thing, very few towels, lipstick marks on glasses, tables were full of thick dust. Receptionists were rude. No pool and dining in the hotel. Last word, location is the only thing that worked in its favor in no respect it could be called a 4 star hotel. I would give 2.5 at max. We are thankful to Priceline for the good price we got. Priceline saved us from a lot of hassle searching hotel. Thanks!”

  • Furniture is a bit out-dated, but rooms are nice.

“Classic old style luxury hotel in a perfect location between Washington's historic and national monuments and the trendy Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle. The Mayflower offers a perfect atmosphere both for the business traveler with the decedent conference halls and the leisure traveler.”

  • The clerk at the front desk upgraded our room.
  • The furniture and floors were very dirty.

“Upon entering the room the first thing I noticed after a long day of traveling and wanted to sit down in a chair. The chair was not acceptable not even for outdoors. The view was looking at the air conditioner units on the roof. And this place was a little pricey for what you got!”

  • The food from room service was excellent.
  • Other guests were noisy

“Our initial room was dirty and we had to be changed to a different room. The manager promised us breakfast on the house the next morning and we were charged for it. When I called to inquire about the charge we were told that we could order breakfast on the house the next morning. The food was wonderful, the portions were nice sized. The other guests were noisy late at night with children wandering the hall. Other than that the stay was nice. The rooms were very comfortable. I would have thought the internet would be included at no price to the guests but it wasn't. Even cheaper hotels offer free internet.”

  • Rooms needed upgrading and were not clean. Not a good value.

“We booked 2 rooms. In both rooms there was no ventilation in the bathroom - you had to rely on the the room AC. Rooms in general, and especially the bathrooms, were run down. Bathrooms had mold and rust, and were not well cleaned. Staff was not particularly accommodating.”

  • The bed was awesome, I can't say enough about how comfortable it was. Would recommend this hotel to everyone!
  • Hotel did not have free wireless internet and I feel for the upscale hotel, they should at least provide it like the 2-star/3-star hotels.

“I did notice some dust in the foyer of the room which was a minus but the overall stay was awesome. If you want free internet, microwave, vending machines, this is not the hotel for you. But if you like luxury to the max and great customer service with a smile, then the Renaissance Mayflower hotel is the place to be.”

  • Middle age night life in area was lacking.

“Very friendly staff, clean room, 1/2 block from Metro stop making it very easy to get anywhere in DC. CVS drug store 1/2 block away was great place to save money on the little things. Charges at the business center where a little crazy so I didn't use it. So that's not a big deal to me. We got a very good rate via Priceline or we never would have stayed there, but was very satisfied.”
