- The only thing good was the location.
- It was not a four star, it was old, smelly, tiny rooms, stained carpets.

“We transferred from the J W Marriott which was a few blocks away. We enjoyed our stay there and found the Hilton hotel to be a let down. The lobby had a foul odor, the room was dirty, dusty, noisy and parking was extremely expensive. When we asked for an additional bath towel, we were limited to only one. Next year when we return to DC we will not stay at this hotel.”

- The room was very nice, excellent bedding. Staff was very accommodating.
- Parking was exorbitant; hallways were very loud at times.
“Very expensive parking and its restaurants were too expensive to make them attractive in a city of so many dining options. Staff was very accommodating. The door to the room seemed to be made of paper: when a neighbor opened their door the noise was so loud it was startling, even though nothing could be heard through the other walls. No mini-bar or fridge, and AC was sluggish, but toiletries, bedding, decor, cleanliness were good.”

“Stay at this hotel only if you are going to be gone all day. Front desk does not communicate with housekeeping. We extended our stay and they never told housekeeping. They kept knocking on the door and coming into the room unannounced! Elevators do not work well. Many times we would push the button for our floor and the elevator would not go there. Parking fee is excessive at $40.00 per night. Yes, $40.00. The only thing that I can say that is positive is the location of the hotel. Many lower cost restaurants and a drug store are located nearby and it is on the circulator bus route. Several blocks from the Metro though. Overall, I will not stay at this hotel again.”

“The room had bugs under the bathroom sink (even bug tape). Only one staff member was friendly. The rest were extremely rude and did not want to even answer questions. We had to pay extra for parking ($80). Our view of the roof was not pretty.”

- Location plus a lot of places near by to eat, on bus line, near Metro station.
- Too busy, only two doors, for 3 days, a large group controlled one of the doors and it made getting in and out very hard.
“The location was great but we would never want to stay here again. Tub and sink didn't drain, bathroom was dirty, coffee cups were full of water from last guest, elevators didn't always work, they walked into our room several times without any warning. The last time we were asleep but I went down and talked with the manager. We had called about it before but after talking with him, it didn't happen again. It was hard getting in and out of the hotel because of all the people lined up to attend NACA event in hotel for 3 days. Some of the NACA people were very rude and they were there all day. The TV hotel menu didn't work. Not at all what we expected for a 4 star hotel.”

- The hotel was comfortable and welcoming. The staff was excellent.
- There is a gentlemen's club across the street.
“I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again. My request for a 2-bed room was not fulfilled, but I didn't call and request the accommodations until 2 days prior to my stay. Since I was traveling with my adult son I certainly didn't want to share a bed with him. At check-in the offered to place a roll-a-way bed into the room (there wasn't an additional charge) and we agreed to this. Expecting the room to be too small and the roll-a-way to be of the folded in two variety, I was pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of room and the roll-a-way was actually a twin size bed that stood on end and laid down. It even had a box springs! The location was perfect and an easy walk to most of the sites in DC. The Metro stations are also very conveniently located.”

- A little bit run down - used to be beautiful but has not been renovated for a long time.

- The location, the staff, the decor all wonderful!
- The temp control in the room needed to stay constant.
“This hotel was terrific. They were able to get me into my room early, this really made a big difference in my plans for the day. The staff was wonderful and the hotel was located in the best place with easy access to tours, Starbucks, Cosey, and Sweet Georgia Brown, one of the best southern style places I have ever been to. I highly recommend this hotel.”

“The restaurant has the most obnoxious staff. Extremely rude. Valet parking is $35.00 a day and service is horrible. The girl processing the payment at the front was extremely rude. I stayed at the hotel for only 2 nights with my daughter. Every day there was an incident with rude staff. I will not come back to Capitol Hilton again even though this was my 3rd time staying there.”

“Excellent accommodations, beautifully decorated, super attentive staff, located 5 minutes from the White House walking, Burger King and Starbucks on the corner right there across from us. “The Capital Hilton is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location. The staff is friendly & efficient. The beds are ultra comfortable. However, the downsides out way the good. First, the room I got had a bad drain in the tub and I found myself standing in 3 inches of water. Second, and most importantly, everything was an add on: parking, internet connection.”

- We liked the friendliness of staff with our grandkids.
- Areas needed repair - our toilet, wall, shower control.
“A great location for the District - easy to Metro and for walking. Very friendly staff and responsive. Needs a face lift - heavy traffic evident and repairs needed in room - all requests were attended to immediately. We are staying there again for business in October - Have stayed there before for business and the staff is consistently well trained.”

- Convenient location.
- Small rooms, expensive restaurant, nothing for kids.
“It's not 4 stars, but its convenient location makes this a good choice for DC tourists. The rooms are small, wear and tear is definitely showing, and cleanliness could be better, but the beds and pillows are comfortable and the accommodations adequate. Nothing offered for families. Spa is nice, but no kids allowed. Parking is expensive and so is the restaurant, but there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful.”

- Location and lobby were nice. Felt safe.
- Looked like rooms were partially renovated, need more counter space in bathroom and interior doors were removed but tracks still there.
“Location was good and bed was comfortable but this is no longer a 4-star Hilton hotel. Our stay was two nights. Upon arrive it had sufficient towels and coffee, etc. but the next day, we had to ask for these items as they did not restock completely.”

- Not a 4 star hotel.
“The wall-paper was coming off in the room. Furniture broken in the room. Window broken in the room (couldn't close). I don't understand how they received a 4 star rating. Just because a hotel charges $14.00 for a drink in the lobby doesn't make it a 4 star hotel. The hotel should have been rated 3 stars at the most.”

- Was close to all the monuments in DC.
- Food prices were kind of high, not much of a selection.
