• The room was nice.
• For the price it should have included a breakfast of some sort. You had to pay another 40 extra for that.

“I thought the rooms could have been a bit bigger and it could have included some sort of breakfast. The in room menu prices were quite high in my opinion. Overall our stay was good great location I didn't use y car the whole time I was there except to go into DC.”

“This hotel is an all-suites hotel with nice rooms and a great shuttle service. The staff are friendly and helpful, everything is clean, and access from DCA is convenient.”

• Room was small, carpets were stained.

“Suite had an "island" in the middle, which reduced the usable floor space and made the three rooms--living room, bedroom, bath area--seem small and difficult to use. Internet was expensive ($13/day) and slow.”

• Hotel staff very solicitous in helping me get a prescription at pharmacy and allowing our stay past checkout to allow me to rest prior to air take-off.
• Unfortunately the pull-out couch mattress probably caused my back pain. Better mattress would be great.

“The hotel staff was very solicitous, especially given my aching back. They shuttled us all over. They referred us to a great restaurant. The Chart House. We were treated like VIPs based on their reservation with a free dessert, roses and solicitous visits by chef and maitre'd. We'd definitely go back.”

• I liked the suite for my children.
• I was given a suite with one single king size bed and they could not give me two queens.

“The location was great if you want to spend time out of DC. The hotel shuttle to the metro was helpful and staff directed me on how to use the metro to get into the city. However, the hallway was loud at night and we had a buzzing sound coming from the vent which kept the kids awake. It was nice that they didn't allow children into the hot tub, gave parents a little respite too.”

“The hotel was clean, updated and convenient. Plenty of parking on the street meant I didn't have to pay $18 per day also. Easy access to old town Alexandria and dc. Great trip. Highly recommended.”

“Typically at the Sheraton you get excellent above and beyond concierge service, that was not the case here. The staff was not helpful at all. Everything cost extra such as parking, etc. The room was clean and bed was comfy! There was a lifeguard at the pool but it was only 3 feet deep all across and there were no towels several times. I expected more from a Sheraton hotel.”

• No continental breakfast or discount coupons for breakfast, Limited TV Channels.

“The hotel was what I expected of a 3-star hotel. Pool was clean and had a friendly lifeguard. Our room was on the small side but very comfortable. There was a grocery store 2 blocks down to buy food or other necessaries.”

“This is a great place to stay in DC!! Shuttle to Metro and Old Town is prompt, the staff is nice, and the entire place was clean as a whistle. I'd highly recommend it for anyone whether the trip is for business or pleasure.”

• The staff was fantastic. Very accommodating, helpful and friendly.
• The rooms were a bit small and the location was on the outside edge of Old Town.

“The rooms were considerably smaller than other suite type hotels, but were set up to make the maximum use of space. The staff was fantastic, even with a large convention staying at the hotel (which we were not a part of) they took care of our family with ease. I never had to ask as they offered extra services (shuttle pick-ups and drop-offs outside of scheduled times and places, metro advice, directions, etc.). They made the difference between an okay stay and a great one.”

• People were friendly and I loved the room.
• I wish that they didn't let animals into the building. This lady's dog was running up and down the floor and I thought it shouldn't be allowed.

• Great convenient location to Downtown DC with shuttle service to nearest subway stop.
• Extra $18 daily for parking, no complimentary coffee or breakfast in the morning.

“Extra charge for internet access. Pool does not open before 4:00 p.m. We were coming from the Comfort Inn Williamsburg were all those extra amenities were provided at no extra cost, a bit disappointing.”

“Was traveling with my sister. There is not much privacy in the rooms, and we both said it is a stretch to call them suites. But the staff tried hard.”

• Front desk staff was pleasant.
• Dirty hotel room. Most 3 and 4 star selections have resulted in filthy rooms. 2star categories have been much better, and CLEAN!

“This is unfortunate for Sheraton. With a reputable name, the standards should have been more attentive to details. The room was unbelievably filthy with stains on all furniture. Much better for business travelers as well as families on a budget.”

• I didn't care for the parking. I guess it was the only way to accommodate in a small place.

“From the time you walk in, you felt the professional attitude. The staff offered any help you might need. Everything we needed was right there in the room. For the sleeper sofa, they provided extra pillows. There was sophistication and beautiful art around every corner. Thank you for making our visit as nice as it was a family member funeral that brought us there. We were able to rest comfortably.”

• The suites rooms were very nice.
• The Business Center had computers, but you had to pay for time on the internet.

“Again the Business Center was sub-par and in an open area in the lobby. You had to use a credit card and charged to get time on the internet. I was surprised there was an $18 charge to park overnight.”

“Nice comfortable clean room. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Parking garage is cramped and expensive @ $18.00 daily. Street parking is not a viable option. Great location if you want to visit DC, historical sites in VA. King street shopping and restaurant experience within a short drive!”

• Upper level management needs a course in hotel management.

“The room had no phone book, no book describing guest services, TV did not work, one telephone did not work, charge for locals calls despite no indication anywhere in room there were charges, no local newspaper available on premises, nothing in room informing guest about Wi-Fi, calls to front desk went unanswered, had to go to front desk in person to ask a question, $15 a day for inadequate parking. Will never stay here again by choice.”

“My room smelled like paint and was not what I expected for a 3 star hotel, barely adequate. The hotel restaurant took 30 minutes for my food and I was one of two people in the restaurant. Around 3am I vomited from what I can only guess is food poison. Not pleasant.”

• Furniture was very slightly worn (sofa).

“One of the best hotels in Alexandria. Just a couple of blocks to the Potomac Riverfront bike path and park. Large two room suite with small refrigerator & sink. Clean and well maintained. Balcony with river view. Well above average.”

“This is not a 3 star hotel; this is close to 1 star. Pretty old hotel in middle of city, small rooms. Nothing free. Overnight parking is $18/night, no free internet; Wi-Fi is paid $10/day and no free internet even in lobby, $3.5 for a bottle of water. I will not recommend this for anyone as a 3 star hotel.”

• Charming hotel full of amenities, nice location supermarket near plus have fridge, microwave, and 2 TV as its all suites.
• Rough check out, unable to extend 3 nights stay, hotel made us feel uncomfortable and try to bill 250 fines for smoking in room.

“Found dirty underwear hiding in sofa, and were required to pay late charge for late check out and 250 dollars for cleaning the room due to cigarette. As we defended ourselves and pointed out cleanness and staffing problem while trying to extend our stay for a 3 day and found no co-operation, manager at Sheraton waived most charged but still lost our deposit money a value of 50 cash.”

• Beautiful hotel with a helpful, courteous staff.
• Hotel restaurant very pricey.

“This was without a doubt the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. Extremely comfortable rooms and an excellent staff. Complimentary transportation to the airport and metro station, as well as downtown Alexandria Old Town. The location is convenient, also. Even though the hotel restaurant is pricey, the Royal Restaurant across the street is very reasonable with excellent food.”

“It's just like a miniature apartment with double doors separating rooms along with frig & microwaves & 2 TVs. And my favorite room has two balconies (one off the living & one off the bedroom). I've never heard any sounds from another room. My #1 choice.”

• The staff was extremely friendly and quick to help with anything we needed.
• The room was smaller than expected and the carpet was not the cleanest (pet fur and dingy).

“Overall, the Sheraton Suites Old Town Alexandria is a decent hotel for single business travelers or couples, may be with one child. The suites are a bit on the small side, but the amenities are not lacking. Staff are on hand instantly and very friendly. The location to the metro station, a big means of traveling around DC, was a good 6 blocks away through a rather rough neighborhood that was not the greatest to walk through, especially with young children. Still, it is located across the corner from a fantastic restaurant with great food and prices that are very reasonable, and good walking distance from all the shops and little nooks just waiting for travelers ready to take on Old Town.”

• Fine location in old town Alexandria, great free shuttle service.
• Somewhat disappointed in furnishings; coffee table looked second hand and furnishings lacked color.

“Enjoyed my stay and the free shuttle service to King Street is a needed bonus, although it is also easy to walk the distance. I was disappointed in the sitting area as furnishings were dark and the coffee table badly scratched and nicked. However, bedroom and bath were very nice. I did not have an opportunity to use the restaurant since we were out each night.”

• The room was very well-spaced for 6 adults to congregate in.
• The stairs to the lobby had a very strange route that went through the back office.

“Having never stayed at a Sheraton before, I had no idea what to expect. The staff was friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and accommodating. We took advantage of the pool and Jacuzzi. However, I did find the breakfast prices to be extreme; and to this point, we had not stayed at a hotel that charged us to park. Curiously enough, when we decided to take the stairwell down from the 2nd floor, it followed a winding route that seemed to go through the hotel's back office.”

“I had a small child, who was thrilled to sleep on the sleeper sofa. This was one of a very few sleepers where I didn't feel the metal bars through the mattress, and my son loved it. The suite layout was great, the bathroom was clean, and the entire hotel was cleaned and smelled fresh.”

• It was the nicest place I have ever stayed in.
• Parking fee for parking at the motel.

“Overall, very nice, large room, nice pool. We were traveling by motor cycle and they offered a paved court yard for daylight parking and a secure garage for overnight parking. There was a nice inexpensive restaurant near by. Overall, I rate the Sheraton old Town on a 1 to 10 scale a good solid 11.”
