• Although the room was a bit small, the hotel was nice and the staff was helpful.
• The room was nicely laid out but just too small.

“I think the hotel room is a good choice for a quick weekend stay such as ours but for a longer stay of more than two days it was just a bit cramped. I did enjoy the friendliness of the staff and the location was easy walking distance to other places in DC.”

• Location was good and the staff was great!
• Use of pool at another Marriott but it was not easy to do. No space.

“The hotel staff is great. The rooms are clean and the location is perfect. There is no where to go if you just want to sit and talk, no real common areas, especially outside. Lobby is ok but noisy and crowded with many non-hotel people using the free WiFi. They say you can use the pool of a local Marriott but to do this you need a letter from this hotel and you are received as if you are an outsider by the hotel with the pool. What made this hotel worth staying at was the great price.”

• Loved the location and the fact it's a new hotel.
• Didn't like the parking charge.

“This hotel was everything I needed for my trip to D.C. It was close to my daughter's college at Georgetown University. It was close to restaurants on "M" Street, and the price was very reasonable for the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.”

• Very nice, friendly staff, good neighborhood, very clean.
• No pool, expensive breakfast, not too close to tourist sites.

“This hotel was beautiful, clean and I would stay here again. A couple of negatives (if you an call them that), no pool, but you can use the facilities at the Marriott down the street if you stay here, breakfast buffet was a little pricey. It is in a nice neighborhood (near Georgetown) and close to the metro, but not really in walking distance to the main tourist sites in DC. Also, the concierge was not there for the first few days of our trip and they had a security guard at the desk giving out information which turned out to not be very helpful at all. Once the concierge came back our trip was much better because of his knowledge. If you bring your car, parking is $32 a day. None of these things were terrible though, I would stay here again if I went to DC.”

• The entire staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, right down to the valet parking staff.
• Parking fees were high ($32/night). That seemed normal for the area, but being unfamiliar with the area I would like to have known before I arrived.

“The hotel was exactly as I would have expected for a 4 star. It was very clean with high quality rooms and amenities. Some of the nice touches were - glasses instead of disposable paper cups, full glass shower doors and soap bars that were actually large enough to be considered usable. But most of all, the entire staff was top quality. Every one of them was friendly and helpful, right down to the valet parking staff.”

• They did not inform me that they charge for parking.

“The hotel is really good but the room we stayed in was really small that we felt cluttered. The staff did not tell me that they charge 32 dollars for the parking that I assumed it is with in the service as other hotels I stayed at in the past. I was really disappointed of the space and the charge.”

• The service. It made the difference between a good experience and a great experience!
• This is a matter of preference, the carpeting was a bit too bright and retro for me. But who cares?.

“Services was great. The rooms are well appointed for business travelers and comfortable for all guests. Updated Metro furniture, large flat screen TVs, comfortable beds, and surprisingly good food!”

“The Renaissance worked well for our overnight in DC. My son and I were visiting colleges, and the Renaissance is convenient to GWU (George Washington University) and reasonably convenient to Georgetown. The staff was very friendly, the beds comfortable, and the room, though smallish, was clean. It's mostly a business hotel, but it is not far from the Mall, so tourists can enjoy it, too.”

• The parking was very expensive at $32 a night- park across the street for $15.

“This was a great for us. The hotel staff is exceptional and we were never not greeted or cared for. The rooms are beautiful, modern and funky. The hotel is about 6 walking blocks to Georgetown, on a very safe street. We have been here 5 nights and will certainly return in the future.”

• Dirty bathroom, used a cleaning wipe on bath tile and came up filthy with hair, dust, dirt.

“Wouldn't stay here again. Fruit flies in the breakfast buffet turned me off, my bathroom was dirty, the floor and the tile of my shower was full of hair, dust and dirt. One of my pillows was stained and I requested polyester pillows twice and they didn't get them for me until I called housekeeping. The ironing boards in both my room and my sisters room didn't work properly, you had to pull out the bottom of the board to use it. I also didn't like the fact that housekeeping kept on opening my window curtains when it was pretty obvious I like my privacy. At least the 8th floor hospitality room was comfortable and staff was nice in that room.”

• The decor in our room was lovely.
• We were told erroneously by person on the phone that we could get a microwave for the room.

“The hotel was excellent in most ways. The room was roomy, comfortable, bright and airy. The heating/cooling was under our control and worked very well. Free internet and a large flat-screen TV made for nice in-room entertainment. The hotel was walking distance to several nice restaurants and a pretty residential area where we took a short walk. The lobby seemed a bit sterile and not as comfortable as one would like. Hotel parking was very expensive. We needed extra towels in the room, which were provided quickly upon request.”

“We were pleased with the hotel. We didn't eat there as we had a teenager with us and the prices were quite high. Everyone was friendly, helpful and very polite. The only problem was we were in a strange town and the transportation was not convenient unless we wanted to take a taxi all the time which was not very economical.”

• Location! Great beds, free fruit, quiet, friendly & helpful staff.
• Parking was very expensive!

“This was a perfect location for the sights in D.C., we could walk to many places and even safe to walk or jog at night. Short walk to the Metro. Rooms were a bit cramped, but we had three people in the room. Great beds, great flat screen TV, great desk for computer work. Very clean, very quiet. Very helpful staff, but parking is a sharp stick in the eye, $32/night.”

“We traveled with our two kids (1 and 3) and stopped for 2 nights here. The room was so tiny, we hardly fit in to it with the crib and stuff. We went to WDC to see the city, not the room. The hotel was clean, the staff was very friendly. The location was very good. We could walk to all the places we wanted to see.”

“Great location in the middle of everything. Inconvenient maintenance and upgrades going on in street area of adjoining properties. Beautiful hotel and staff. Would have to see other accommodations to get a true picture of what is available. My husband and I had a very small room. The ambiance was very beautiful and welcoming.”

• The location for Washington sights and local restaurants.
• The queen beds were too small.

• They tried to accommodate for all the problems they were having. They were clearly understaffed and poorly staffed and not equipped.
• We were sent to a room that wasn't ready. We were then sent to a room with a mouse trap. The rooms were tiny. Lost our car.

“The hotel is with excellent staff and service. It is in the heart of the Foggy Bottom area and close to shopping and local attractions. The hotel is located close to the Metro and is situated in a safe area of the city. Rooms tend to be small. Rooms are equipped with technology for business travelers.”

“As tourists, we wanted a room where we could relax, read, and unwind a little. We asked for a room with a king-sized bed but were given a room with 2 doubles. There was no chair and we had to twist sideways to walk between the bed and the wall in order to reach the closet. We ordered breakfast through room service and it never arrived.”

• I thought the room was nicely decorated and clean.
• The room and bathroom were way too small.

“It was a nice hotel and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We asked for more towels and received them in a matter of minutes. There is Starbucks across the street and it's close to the Subway and the bus stop. The valet staff would also hail a cab if needed. We parked our car and used either cabs or the bus for all of our travel. The hotel had some luxurious features, but we had four people in the room, my husband, two kids and me, and it was really tight. The room would be perfect for one or two people.”

• Meals overly expensive, bar is not so great.

“We enjoyed our stay. The concierge was wonderful, helpful and informative. The lobby space is expensive, yet the table/chair and/or sofa groupings lend a sense of intimacy. Free newspaper was good, loved the bath robe in the room. Maid service was timely.”

• Room was decorated nicely and was very clean.
• Staff was unpleasant and seemed to try and hurry you along.

“The hotel was located in a nice area and was decorated nicely. There was an extra fee for everything. Additionally the fitness center and pool are actually located in another hotel of the same brand down the street. The staff also seemed to try and rush you along when you had a question or a concern. I have stayed in other "4 star" hotels and the services and amenities were significantly nicer than the ones that were available at this hotel.”

• Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, gracious staff.
• No fan in bathroom, room felt damp after 3 showers, no pool.

“We stayed 2 weekend nights, Friday & Saturday. Desk staff and valets were cordial and helpful. Comfortable 2-bed room for 3 people. Good location in walking distance to Metro and interesting shops & restaurants.”

“Great location, great price, honored my Marriott Gold Status, super friendly restaurant staff, crisp and clean, front desk staff could use some friendly classes. They seemed to have brought their gruff DC lifestyle to work with them.”

“This hotel is in a clean, safe location of DC with many shops and restaurants nearby. The room was absolutely spotless. The mattress and bedding are heavenly. The Metro is a short walk and easy to negotiate. We would definitely return to this hotel. Dining supervisor is outstanding.”
