- Clean, safe, attractive, outstanding customer service.
- Due to a series of unfortunate inadvertent errors, I missed an important meeting, but when I expressed my concerns, they addressed the issues fairly.
“Overall, my experience was outstanding and as Im writing this review Im here again because I found excellent in so many ways. I found it the perfect place to accomplish various goals I had associated with my stay, I wanted to relax, unwind, complete work without interruption, and be treated with care and respect. Each was achieved with my stay. An issue that arose was promptly resolved in a fair and caring manner. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the dc area or merely just a nice place to stay. Absolutely outstanding customer service at every level.”

- The staff was outstanding! Helpful, friendly, courteous.
- Upon check in, clerk was in training and didn't know right questions to ask when she couldn't find double bed for us.
“Starting with check in, staff was very courteous and explained well what we needed to do to check in and get our car parked. The lobby area was clean and beautiful. Our room was spacious, and very lovely. We had a little problem running the television, so an "engineer" was sent up to help us. He arrived promptly and was very helpful. That is what impressed me most in every dealing I had with the staff, all were very patient, friendly, and so helpful! We also liked the proximity to the metro, and the shopping so readily available. If possible, I would love to visit again.”

- Close proximity to metro station.
- On day one elevators were shutoff we had to use stairs.

- Attentive staff. Prompt service for all requests (new iron, more coffee).
- Ten dollars a day for in-room internet is ridiculous.
“Great location, right next to Metro stop, and no need for a rental car. Beautiful facilities. Very helpful and friendly staff. Ten dollars per day for internet. Airport shuttle stops running at midnight, so if you get a flight delay and arrive late, figure out how to take the Metro (DCA cab lines are ridiculous). No late night room service menu.”

- Did not have a refrigerator or microwave in room.

- Easy access to the Metro and shopping.
“"Convenient" would best describe this property - easy access from highways and Reagan Airport, then the safe access to the Metro right from the hotel lobby make it a winner. We parked our car when we arrived and did not move it again until we concluded our vacation. In would highly recommend this hotel to business travelers and family vacationers and sightseers alike.”

- The hotel was nice, clean, comfortable, conveniently located, near a metro entrance, and they had an airport shuttle!
- There was a cigarette burn in one of the bedspreads.
“The hotel lobby was beautiful, the rooms were nice, the bed was the most comfortable I ever slept in. You didn't even have to go outside to get to the metro, just down the hall and out the back door. They had an airport shuttle, which I had a hard time finding in Washington dc hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.”

- Parking fee is a bit steep. Arlington is not Manhattan.

- The hotel was conveniently located. I especially loved the food and the lobby decor was tasteful and stylish. The staff was exceptional.
- I did not like the small size of the beds in our double room. Fitted sheets would have been nicer than two flat sheets.
“We felt we really lucked out to get the Crystal City Gateway Marriott. The hotel was everything I expect from the Marriott brand. The lobby was urban chic. The food was wonderful. The service was exceptional. The accessibility to the Metro was also a key strength. The room decor was average. There was a great workout facility and I wished I had brought my swim suit to enjoy the indoor pool.”

“Traveled with my 8yr. old daughter. The room had lovely furnishings, very nice linens, extremely comfortable bedding. Great location with metro station direcly connected to the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only complaint was that room service and bellman service took a long time to respond.”

- The luxury and cleanliness of hotel
- Some of the staff could of been friendlier
“I would give this hotel a "10" because it was comfortable and had great amenities like an indoor and outdoor pool and a gym. It was secure. I felt secure. Also it had an underground entrance that led to many restaurants and shops and to the metro train stop to see all the sights.”

“This hotel has clean, spacious, comfortable rooms (complete with use of a bathrobe) with convenient access to Metro. The underground shopping is a nice plus, as is the friendliness of the hotel staff. The only drawback is the priciness of the hotel restaurant.”

- There is a tunnel from lobby to the Metro, the mall and restaurants.
- This was fine choice. The walk through the lobby to the pool was a bit long .
“We took our kids here years ago and take the grandchildren here now. It still looks new.
The location is great with a short Metro subway ride into D.C.easy driving access and one minute from Reagan airport. The Crystal Gateway Marriot is a great value and the tunnel from the lobby to the shops an, restaurants and Metro is a major bonus.”

“The hotel was beautiful, the location perfect and the amenities substantial. Unfortunately, they did not ask whether we wanted smoking or non-smoking and by the time we were in our rooms, we were too tired to request a move to non-smoking rooms but overall, we were extremely happy with the hotel.”
