- Airport van driver left for day and failed to pick us up at airport even after direct call to desk to arrange pickup.
“Small rooms and older property but location is excellent for airport access - called front desk to arrange van pickup and told to wait only to be picked up by another Hotel after we were observed waiting for a long time only to learn driver never was coming.”

- The Shuttle picked us up promptly at Reagan Airport.
- The staff could have cared less about us; bartender was awful.
“After a long flight from Mexico, we arrived at Reagan airport 10:45 pm tired and frazzled. I called the hotel, and as promised, the shuttle was sent and picked us up within ten minutes. The shuttle driver had taped a handwritten note on the dash that said, "your tips are appreciated". I thought that was tacky. We were hungry and wanted a drink, so as he dropped us, the shuttle driver said the Bar was open until 12 pm. We arrive around 11 pm, the front desk clerk hands the keys over (no 'welcome' or anything) and also tells us room service stopped at 11pm and the bar is open till 12 pm. Well of course, we unload the suitcases; get to the bar at 11:15 pm. My husband asks for Jim Beam and ginger ale. Only have Makers Mark and Sprite (No ginger ale?) These drinks were $15 each! Outrageous!! Immediately afterwards, the bartender announces 'Last Call'. It's 11:20 pm- what happened to midnight? She didn't care, and we were not the only ones there. To top it off, a bug crawls across the carpet! I then ask the desk clerk for a carryout menu (we're starving), and I call the sub shop recommended. We're told the food will take 45-55 minutes because it's so difficult to get to the hotel! Come on Hilton! Don't recommend carryout places like that! Good news- the Starbucks coffee was free in the morning. Bad news, ATM in lobby was out of cash! Can't recommend this place.”

- The room we had would have been more comfortable if it had been wider.

“The hotel room was nice and clean. The stuffs were friendly and knowledgeable. It was four blocks from the Metro (train) station. Restaurants were close by and the area (Crystal City) was safe.”

- Service was excellent. Staff very helpful to answer questions. Bed very comfortable.
- Hotel pickup at metro station was quite delayed.
“Our check in was quick. Room was comfortable. In room coffee was great to my surprise I've never had good coffee from those little coffeemakers. Plenty of pillows on the bed, with a down quilt. Sheets were soft. Everyone was friendly and helpful.”

- Not impressed with pool, fitness center or business center.
“Overall, I was disappointed with the hotel. I am a Hilton Honors member and have stayed at several other locations in which I've been very impressed with the amenities and quality of service. I spent most of my time at the Marriott Crystal Gateway with colleagues. The charges for services do not reflect the quality of services provided in the business center-very small, limited workstations, not staffed. It took 1-1/2 hours and three calls to have a hotel information book delivered to my room. No sugar for the in room coffee service. Pool and fitness center are inadequate.”

“Room was small, but clean and comfortable. We had choice of sharing bed or smoking room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. On arrival could not get in the drive due to cars parked without drivers, even in the self parking lane. Parking was congested and not well directed. We actually got penned in and had to back out of an area (I had to get out and direct us backwards as far as we could go - taking several backups in small car to get turned around) while trying to find a parking place. Beds and rooms were very comfortable and clean. Bathroom was small, but clean with several personal grooming accessories.”

“I felt cheated by this hotel because they overbooked and they sent their full paying customers to other hotels they stuck four of us in a room with a full sized bed. I would have been better off sleeping in my car in a rest area. Shame on the Hilton. I certainly expected better, or at the very least what was promised, a room with a king size bed or a room with two queens.”

- Front desk said drivers could take us to the metro but drivers only wanted to go to airport, they didn't want to go out of their way for the customer.

- Very clean, nice rooms with quality furnishing and room amenities
- No Jacuzzi. Parking garage was closed and forced pay $20 per day for parking.
“The Hilton at Crystal City is a very nice hotel. The room was very nice with upscale features. Nice fitness center and pool, but no Jacuzzi. I would have like to have known prior to booking my stay, that I would have to pay for valet parking due to garage maintenance. Call hotel prior to booking.”

- A handyman came immediately when we reported that the toilet had clogged up. Our car was waiting for us within 5 minutes of being requested.
- It was a bit of a hike to the Metro, and then a half hour ride into downtown DC on a Saturday.
“I would recommend this hotel. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom is quite small for the size of the bedroom. This hotel is about 1/4 mile from Reagan airport and we could not hear any noise from planes taking off and landing. The only negative about the hotel itself is that when a door was being closed next door, it was so loud that it sounded as though it was in our room. I would recommend asking for a corner room without neighbors.”

- I really appreciated the valet parking; the comfort & staff.
- The parking was not clearly indicated; construction limited access.
“Located five minutes from the airport, this hotel was very comfortable for the business traveler. I do not recommend the in-room web-TV; bring a laptop. The food quality in the restaurant was excellent for the price. Initial impressions were affected by the construction at the front entrance. Recommend the valet parking!”

“The hotel was great except for the pricey parking fees ($20/day-night) and the charge for internet access. Most hotels supply/include internet access, and the parking fees were high for overnight guests. Hourly rates or daily rates should apply for conference attendees but overnight guests should have no charge or minimal charge ($5/day).”

- Staff poor English, horrible sound barrier between rooms.
“Not worth the money. Could hear neighbor through wall ever time they coughed. Was difficult to get to from crystal city metro. Front desk had a list of disabled customers visible through opened door on wall, complete disregard for privacy. Clerk didn't respond, when I pointed out, not entirely friendly/helpful.”

- I liked the area. The price was good. The place was nice all together.
- I wished the rooms were a little bigger and I wish I was able to use my own Internet connection and not have to pay for the Internet.

- Very clean and extremely helpful staff.
- Not having in-room fridge and microwave.
“The bathrooms were small, really small. If you are 6ft or taller this is NOT the place for you. With kids we like to have an in-room fridge and microwave, which was not provided here. Overall our stay was pleasant.”

- Great beds, pillows and bedding. Curved curtain rod in shower for added room.
- It's a few blocks to the subway.

- VERY clean, newly remodeled, FABULOUS bed; great location; has shuttle service.
- Staff at front desk/guest services unfriendly and unhelpful.
“Newly remodeled Hilton in the heart of Crystal City. Only 3 blocks to Metro Station and 2 minutes to Reagan National Airport. Hotel has free shuttle service to surrounding areas. Hotel is walking distance to shopping and many eating establishments. Rooms are spacious, clean, and the Hilton bed (from pillow top mattress to soft sheets with down comforter) was the best sleep I've ever had on vacation. Rooms also have individual electronic thermostats and coffee makers but NO honor bar or refrigerator.”

- Close to metro system.
- The parking is under renovation, the staff is not very friendly.
“The room is nice and big. It's very close to the subway and there are lots of place to eat. The area is nice. The parking is under construction so it's very dusty. The staff is not friendly. They charged me for the room by mistake. When I complained they changed the bill without even saying sorry.”

- It has an indoor pool and fitness center.
- Parking is $16.00 and was free around the hotel.
“It's an excellent hotel with an indoor pool and great fitness center. It is located within minutes of pentagon city mall. However, I stayed on the weekend and parking was free around the hotel, but they charged $16.00 a day to my credit card for parking in their unsafe parking facilities.”
