• Management was horrible. We were waked up in nights and our baggage were removed.

“Terrible experience. The room we were allocated was allocated for another guest. We were waked up in the night twice in two nights, the door were knocked. It was horrible experience. Our luggage were removed while we were not in the room. After inquiring about this, they told us by mistake room was allocated for another guest.”

• There are two couches in the room. Generally other hotels provide only one.
• In my case, the view was not that good.

“It is good for business travelers. The best thing that I could satisfy about the hotel is a free shuttle bus. It was very convenient and enjoyable. The hotel lobby was also very comfortable.”

• Within walking distance of Subway, Crystal City shops and Pentagon.
• Had to pay $19 for parking, but that's about par for the course for DC.

“Hotel staff was very friendly and we were able to obtain a room with a wonderful view of Washington Monument. Had a shuttle that took you to the nearest Metro station. Food was good but a little pricey for breakfast. Although near Ronald Reagan airport, did not hear any airplane noise. Had a wonderful stay and would come back to this hotel again.”

• The room we stayed in had a sitting room with its own TV and then the bedroom with another. Perfect for a family.
• We paid $20 a day for parking at their hotel.

“The DoubleTree Hotel was a beautiful, family-friendly hotel. The service was great and very helpful. They provided shuttles to the Metro but we were also within walking distance to the Metro and a huge mall. The only down-side we saw was the cost of parking.”

• The shuttle to the airport and the Metro was quick, efficient and timely.
• Lots of school kids messing around and misbehaving in the lobby and on the elevators on Sunday.

“Clean, spacious rooms and lobby area. Valet, bell service and desk staff were very good plus and helpful. Concierge was just average for service, and not always helpful or cheerful.”

• The water glasses in the room didn't look clean.

• Very nice hotel in a perfect location for business with DOD and relevant DOD contractors.
• Exterior windows were dirty which took away from the view of the city.

“When I arrived I was immediately impressed by the quality of this facility. The rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Although I did not visit the pool, exercise room, restaurants etc. It is very nice to have these amenities in a hotel. Overall, it is a very nice facility and I would recommend it to friends and business associates.”

• Nice hotel with clean rooms and friendly helpful staff. Absolutely gorgeous view of DC!
• No fridge in room. It's a little far from the metro but they do have a shuttle every half hour.

“Our view was spectacular! Our room overlooked the Pentagon and the Washington Monument. Fantastic! Beautiful hotel but a little out of the way if you are visiting the DC area. They do have the free shuttle that takes you to the Metro every 1/2 hour so that does help. The room was very nice but would have liked a fridge to keep sodas in. The AC didn't work right off but they sent up maintenance and they fixed it. Not the greatest AC unit but it did eventually cool off the room. The beds were nice and the sheets were clean. The revolving lounge they have requires a $10 cover charge after 9pm so we didn't do more than go up check it out and leave (before 9pm). Not that impressive.”

“Met all our expectations and then some. The staff was nice and extremely helpful, we had a mishap the day with left with a dropped cell phone on shuttle bus, they found and returned to us next day. Extremely nice and helpful.”

• Difficulty accommodating number of guests using elevators, we waited 30 mins. at one time.

“The hotel was very nice except for the fact that the air conditioning in our room (and our entire floor for that matter) did not work properly. It was quite warm during the nights which made the stay somewhat uncomfortable. Besides this issue, it is a good hotel with great service and located in a convenient location.”

• Old and the its hairdryer not place to put.

“The hotel is close to the airport. They provide welcome cookie which is nice. But it is old overall, the decoration is out-dated, the TV is in a cabinet. In the bathroom, there is no place to put the hairdryer it provided. It directly hangs on the back of the door, wired!”

• Parking at $19/day was very, very high; we chose to park on the street which worked out fine on the weekends.

• Bed was comfortable; shuttle service to the metro was good.
• Bathroom was small. Only room for one person (no sink space).

“Overall it was OK. It was right across from the Pentagon and close to the Pentagon metro exit (the shopping center). Bathroom was very small, so if youre traveling with your wife, good luck on getting some sink space.”

• The room was very nice and clean.
• I did not like the price of parking.

“This hotel was nice. I've stayed in several in Arlington and it was not my favorite, but it was fine. The lobby was usually very busy and when we got out of the elevator the floor was so hot and smelled funny. The room was very clean and the price for the internet was not too bad. Parking was expensive and we had a difficult time finding meters on the street. FYI - VA has changed free meter parking days from Saturday and Sunday to only Sunday. We got a parking ticket!”

• There was a coffee shop in the lobby.
• The bathroom in our room was filthy.

“While the lobby is kept clean, the guest rooms are not. In fact, our bathroom was especially dirty. There was mold on the shower head and curtain. The sink was stained and rusting. Even worse, I wrote a letter complaining to the hotel that went unanswered.”

• The location was close to the Metro.
• There was a conference there with lots of noise. We also couldn't get the temperature regulated and it wasn't fixed.

“The service was good. However, there was a conference which had lots of noise on the floor. Our thermostat was also broken, and it was 73 in our room every night. We contacted the staff each day with nothing fixed. It was not a good experience. The staff was kind and responsive, but nothing really was fixed. We did receive a voucher for free parking.”

“Enjoyed this Doubletree, location is great for jumping on the Metro into the Downtown DC area. Room was nicely appointed; we had a great view of the monuments. The staff was apologetic & offered a free night's parking in exchange for inconveniencing us, which we thought was nice. We would definitely stay here again.”

• I liked the location of the hotel, close to the Metro and the night time view from the indoor pool room was spectacular.
• The food was good but quite pricey, not a lot of choices in or near the hotel.

“I thought the hotel was perfect for our purposes. Getting to and from the airport was quick and easy with the hotel shuttle. The walk or shuttle ride to the Metro was short and seemed very safe. The staff at the hotel was very helpful in guiding us around D.C. We had a suite which worked out great for my teenage daughter and I Our room was quite adequate and kept very clean. The only thing that would have been nice is to have more of a selection of restaurants in the area. We would love to stay there again.”

“This hotel was wonderful. I came with my husband to visit Washington D.C. and it is so close to everything. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms were huge, we even got one with a Jacuzzi tub. We made reservations for dinner at the restaurant which overlooked DC. The food and service were both great but the view was definitely what made the restaurant worth going to. I know they also have a revolving lounge which is supposed to have even better views but we didnt get a chance to see it. The only negative thing I can think of was the size of the escalators to get to the lobby. They were a little narrow and made it a tight squeeze with our luggage, but that was only a few seconds of an overall great stay.”

• Desk clerk Cedric and other friendly employees made my stay pleasant.
• No valet parking.

“Although the hotel is definitely a four star it is hard to find. The hotel lacks electronic signs which would make the hotel easier to locate. I circled the area numerous times and located the hotel only after a limo driver was kind enough to lead me to the hotel.”

“I did not receive the type of room I booked; the staff was not helpful in fixing the problem. At dinner my family received their food, while mine was brought out 15 minutes later. When leaving the parking garage, no attendant was present, and had to wait in line for 10 15 minutes fro him to show up and open the gate, this happened numerous times. Nice clean rooms, but bad service on all levels.”

• Very clean, beautiful room, friendly staff.
• Inconvenient location. Not the "airport" hotel it claimed to be. Its airport shuttles shut down early, causing us to pay for a cab.

“I'm not sure why this hotel advertises itself as the airport doubletree. Don't get me wrong, it suited its purpose well as a clean, comfortable, attractive space, with helpful staff, but the location was not metro accessible, which I will insist on next time we visit DC. Also the hotel staff claimed that shuttle service stopped at 11 p.m., which contradicted in room materials listing the shuttle end time as 12 a.m. We could've asked for a slightly more expensive, better located room with our wasted cab money. The accessibility was the sticking point, not the room, or the stay, which was wonderful.”

• Loved the fresh cookies at check in! Very clean and convenient to local sites.
• Restaurants/retailers not prepared well for cash transactions did not have sufficient change.

“We loved that the metro was just a short walk away and we were surprised at how easy it was to get around. Also, we had a room with a view of the Washington monument which we very much appreciated. The beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows!”
