• Free high speed internet and mini fridge.

“Good hotel, clean, good location. Free high speed internet was a bonus as well as the mini fridge. If traveling with children 6 years old and older there is a great playground/park (Eads Park) across the street, behind the hotel.”

• Location was great and the exterior is good.
• The staffs lack courtesy and sometimes rude.

“The Ice maker is also close to the room. Consequently sleeping was very difficult. I had to talk to about 3 people before my room could be changed. The telephone manners of some of the female staff is appalling. Overall I had a bad experience.”

• Plenty of parking spots at hotel.

“Overall it was a pleasurable stay. Approximately a ten minute walk to Metro stop. Walking distance to restaurants row. CVS and a 7-11 walking distance. McDonalds next door. Shopping plaza/chain restaurants short drive away.”

• No free breakfast.

“In general the hotel was nice. Management had to upgrade our room for several reasons. The door in our original room would not lock. The water conservation toilet would not flush properly and my 10 year old son found previous guests Chicken McNuggets at the foot of the bed under the bedspread. We were also disappointed to find the pool closed for renovation, though the hotel shuttle was offered to take us to a "sister" hotel 5 blocks away, to swim.”

• The staff was excellent, the shuttles ran on time.
• The pool was under renovation and the clothes washer was not working.

“The hotel staff was great, always asking if there was anything else that they could do. Pool facilities were available at a sister hotel, but that was inconvenient. The rooms were clean, with enough room for a family of six to move around.”

• The told us the pool was open and it wasn't.

“They told us the pool was open for our daughter and it wasnt, they said the Metro was close you rode a shuttle to, it and if you were lucky it would pick you up, sometimes 45 min. later at the airport.”

• Complimentary high speed internet.
• Needed shampoo for room - front desk said ok, but nothing happened. Also left note/tip for maid and got hand lotion instead and no shampoo at all day2.

“This hotel is very close proximity to Ronald Reagan airport (just a few hundred yards) where there is a Metro station. We chose to walk but we quickly found out that it is very difficult because of a lack of sidewalks and walkways-so by the time you find these, the distance is at least doubled, so the hotel shuttle is really the way to get back and forth- it runs every half hour during the day. Aside from that, the hotel is nice, with spacious rooms and a bar fridge in the room. Complimentary in room high speed internet was a bonus as well. I would recommend this hotel.”

• Lack of swimming pool.

“The hotel was attractively appointed and just right for our family of four. We stayed two nights for a visit to DC. The kids at for free at the hotel restaurant. My only complaint was that the shuttle no longer takes guests to the nearby Crystal City Metro station; we were forced to take the shuttle to Reagan National airport and take the Metro from there.”

• Convenient location, no nonsense, comfortable, great toiletries.
• Coffee service in room not very good, no continental breakfast, pool closed in summer.

“The Holiday Inn National Airport in Crystal City is a great place to stay if you are not looking for a very classy hotel experience. The 50's themed diner attached to the hotel has a nice $10 all you can eat breakfast buffet, but there is no complimentary breakfast service like there are at most Holiday Inns. The outdoor swimming pool is closed in the summer, which is dreary in the steamy Washington DC heat, but otherwise the hotel is comfortable, clean and conveniently located near a Metro station, the Washington Parkway and I-395.”

“Great location if you need a quick place to sleep close to the airport and Metro. We used the convenient hotel shuttle to bring us to the airport to pick up the Metro there. The hotel shuttle runs from 5 AM to 12 PM, so it was wonderful. A decent place, not as fancy as some of the hotels just down the block that may be even more convenient. But overall ok.”

• One staff member in the diner restaurant was not very friendly - others were nice.

• I requested a double bed room, but when I got to the hotel they gave my room to other people and gave me a one bed room. They said they couldn't do anything.

“My overall experience was very bad. I requested a double bed room, but when I got to the hotel they said they don't have a double bed room anymore. It seems like they gave my room to other people.”

• A bit funky-dirty tub.

“The room was fine, but totally put off by the not clean tub. In trying to fit in with the current trend of having white sheets on the bed, and a coverlet folded on the bottom-they had just folded the bedspread to the bottom. No bed skirt so it doesn't quite work. Went to the on site restaurant, The Pub, for dinner made a tasty hamburger. The next morning I ate at their diner, in which the environment left a lot to be desired. Every table was full of dirty dishes-staff not doing much about it-one woman trying to clean the tables. I was served coffee out of a coffee pot thermos which had coffee dripped all over the outside-obviously having been used by others. Food was greasy-over all would not eat there again.”

• The king sized bed.
• Paying $16.00 to park.

“There was no handicap bar in the bathtub. As a handicapped person I really need the bar for security. I like to soak in the tub and there was no rail to hold onto to get down. This should be required in all hotels, no matter what the rating.”

• Stored my baggage so I could go explore the city before check in.
• Slow shuttle picking up from Metro.

“The shuttle service was convenient to and from the airport, it was fast getting you to the metro, but not picking you up from the metro. My room smelled like smoke and there aren't any windows you can open to air it out. The fitness center was nice and open 24 hours. The pool was closed. The diners downstairs were friendly. However was a little slow on the service side, it took them about 10 minutes to even say hello to me. Although the diner is inside the hotel so you don't have to walk outside into the cold weather to get there which is nice. Overall, the stay was satisfactory, but it could have been better.”

• Staff was very helpful and friendly; housekeeper replenished essentials daily.
• Room was right next to maid storage and the door banged loudly very early and frequently every morning.

“We were very pleased with our stay. All employees were very friendly and helpful. This trip was a spring break vacation for my daughter and me and we were treated with deference and kindness. Desk staff provided us with a card with the hotel phone number and we were told to call if we were out and needed help. It helped with the safety-comfort level. I can think of nothing bad to say about this hotel or its staff.”

• The beds were not super comfortable.

“Overall, I was pleased with my stay at the Holiday Inn. It was clean and the room was adequate. At first I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't fancy. The room was rather plain. I had stayed at a Hyatt right across the street which had been much nicer and more my idea of a 3 star hotel. However, the holiday inn turned out to be much quieter and the shower was nicer. I think I can honestly say that my stay was nicer at the Holiday Inn because I actually got some good sleep.”

• Mold on shower curtain/no pets/even being a guest you have to pay for parking-rip.

“This hotel was no 3 star-small beds, cheap decorating, table wobbly in room, mold on shower, curtain too. They do not allow pets. I was not impressed with the fact you have to pay for parking even as a guest in their garage per day. Elevators were dirty, floors were in dire need of vacuum, deserves 1.5-2 star if that, was not happy with hotel at all except staff.”

• No problem getting new room when toilet flooded.
• Toilet flooded.

“Above average for a Holiday Inn, most of which cannot seriously be rated as 3 star properties. This one rides pretty close to the 2.5 to 3 star line. Toilet flooded because of mechanical problem (water came out of the bathroom and into the room itself), but they gave us a new room without much hassle.”

“The hotel is great if you need a place for the night to sleep before a flight out of DCA. Free wireless net in the rooms - but ignore the home page that offers room service! What a neat and simple way to order - but when my order did not come I called and this hotel does not have room service. There is a good diner on property but it closes early. McD's is next door - thank goodness. Also, this hotel is not close to Metro so it's not a good "see DC" tourism hotel.”

“On the "right" side of the highway for a variety of lunch and dinner options. Shuttle was efficient and the drivers great. A bit far from the Metro for an easy walk. Rooms were fine, clean and standard.”

• They had a workout room and the staff was very, very friendly.

“Great bargain. Services include shuttles to airport and metro, a workout room, pool and two restaurants. The simple food from the restaurants exceeded my expectations. The staff is very upbeat and friendly. Only half-hour easy metro trip into D.C. for the sights or business.”

• Large room, security (had to insert hotel key in elevator before you could go up).
• My non smoking room smelt a little like smoke, but nothing too major.
