• The hotel was in a great location. Seconds to the metro and walking distance to Adams Morgan, Dupont Cir., the zoo and a great strip of places to eat.
• The pool has no water in it.

“This hotel is in a great location. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. It is a great spot to travel to and from all the must see sights in DC. I would highly recommend it for leisure or business travel.”

I think the views from anywhere in the hotel would be beautiful, our room was wonderful. 1/2 block access to the subway and immediate cab availability made travel very easy. The staff were all friendly and everyone had a smile to offer. That makes all the difference in the world. Thanks.”

• Steps away from metro. Beautiful grounds.
• Thin walls in my part of the hotel could hear people coming in the wee hours.

“I work in DC but live 40 miles away. I stayed at the Marriott Ward man when I needed to work so late I couldn't get home. It's convenience to the metro was essential so I could leave my car at work and walk from metro by myself that late. My room was comfortable with good reading lights and a great view in the AM. My only complaint was getting woken up by people coming in late the walls seem very thin. I've visited friends and relatives staying here, and we've enjoyed running in Rock Creek Park and walking down Conn. Ave to restaurants and galleries. I've seen one of the luxury suites in the old part of the hotel, and it was really impressive. The grounds are beautiful and many rooms have great views of the park and the city.”

• I liked the upscale, clean, helpfulness of staff, comfortable beds and safety and chic area and the zoo being close and restaurants,.
• No indoor pool, rooms way too small; need a refrigerator, parking stinks, not family friendly, no TV channels, no free WiFi.

“This hotel is great for the business or couple traveling. It could be more family friendly by making the rooms with a refrigerator, or having more kid channels on the TV. Plus no pool indoors hurts. The only bonus is the zoo being close for families. Great bed, helpful staff at desk, bar, cleaning, metro close, great neighborhood for food and drinking, metro outside hotel.”

• It was historic and beautiful, the staff was very accommodating.
• Because the tower we were in was historic so there were some updates the room would benefit from.

“The hotel had great customer service and was landscaped beautifully. The room was spacious and comfortable. There is an historic tower and a newer tower, we were in the historic tower and it was great ambience, but there were some superficial things that could have been done to the room, like trim that the paint was chipping off--but overall it was gorgeous and we were excited to be in the historic part.”

• Starbucks inside.

“I could hear the man next door loud from the door in between rooms. At 2:30 a.m., loudspeaker that they found the source of the problem and everyone return to their rooms!! This woke me from a deep sleep! So, "I" had no idea, no alarm went off and I was mad! Then for the next 40 or so minutes, unable to fall back asleep as I heard every man shutting toilets and doors!”

• The location is ideal, the grounds beautiful, reminiscent of an old estate.
• The room was a little small and a third bed was propped against the window. Not very attractive.

“Really found the hotel ideal. it was directly across from the DC metro in a central location. My room was a little small but generally nice looking. The general atmosphere of the hotel is luxurious and slightly grand. It was great for a short getaway.”

• Unique layout, beautiful, real close to metro.
• Rooms were very warm, no king bed - too doubles, too small.

“We really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again. The only problem was the temperature hotel. We could not cool the room down and we were very uncomfortable at night.”

• Beautiful park garden setting. Valet or self-park option. Room was spacious & tasteful.
• No negatives. All positives.

“From the greeting at the "curb" (valet attendant) to the front desk check-in process, the personnel were gracious and welcoming. This brief hotel stay was perfect.”

“I've stayed at the Marriott Ward man Park several times since 1981, and it is being maintained very well for a large convention hotel. Staff is friendly and efficient, rooms are well sized (but thin walls-can hear the next room and hall noise).”

• It's a beautiful hotel and staff was very friendly and helpful.
• Construction in wing I was staying in. Cold in hallway and noisy.

“This is a great hotel, in a good location, and has the most beautiful gardens of any hotel in DC. I am not happy because I was in a room near construction/repair work, and also where they placed a huge group of kids for some conference. Not the kids' fault---but not smart to put biz travelers in same location.”

• The room was lovely and the breakfast buffet terrific.
• While our room was lovely, there was a good bit of noise above us and in the hall. The room was not quiet; sleep was disturbed.

“In addition to a noisy overnight, I was not charmed by the reservations person I spoke with on the day of our stay. I phoned the hotel around 7 p.m., to notify them that we'd be checking in late (10:30-11). The young woman was very curt with me, refusing me any information about hotel policy. I feel her posture was unnecessary and unwelcoming.”

• On our recent visit my wife and I were upgraded to a suite without asking for it. The front desk was very accommodating. The suite was very spacious.
• As with many in city hotels, the self parking was a distance from our room.

“The Ward man Park Marriot has always been a great place to stay for a Washington DC weekend getaway. I've been there five times with the wife to look around DC. It's great for those who drive in because it's main entrance is spacious and off the street. It's close to dining and shopping, and there's a Metro subway stop next to the property. It's an easy subway ride to all museums and sight seeing destinations. The complex is huge, so you may have to walk a distance to get to your room. Every room I've had has been very nice and one time I was up-graded to a large suite in the original building. As with all DC hotels the parking fee is substantial. It's usually best to pay a few dollars extra and opt for valet parking as the self-parking is quite a hike.”

“Overall, the hotel was very nice. Great location, many things to do within walking distance. Also, the metro is a stone's throw away, which I loved. The hotel lobby was beautiful, and the hotel offered many restaurants and shops. And also a gym. The rooms were clean and spacious. I had a great experience.”

• I love staying at Marriott properties because you can always expect the best. This hotel was by far beautiful and the staff was very accommodating.
• The parking situation isn't that great and is very expensive.

“I would recommend friends and colleagues to stay at this location as it is just far away enough from DC downtown but close enough to get there within 10-15 minutes.”

• The character of the architecture was exceptional.
• The bed was horrible.

“The hotel was presented well; however, I felt cleanliness and comfort were issues. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room could have been cleaner. Also, there was no opportunity to open windows for fresh air, and I felt this to be a problem. Lastly, walls were extremely thin and there was no opportunity to manufacture white noise to drown out distraction from the hallways and other rooms. The above being said, the hotel room had all the modern amenities and therefore it was pleasant.”

• Greatest hotel stay of my entire life! At the front desk, they upgraded my accommodation to the Presidential suite.
• No complaints. It's the best hotel I've ever stayed at.

“The Ward man Park is a very historic hotel, but it is attached to a modern conference center. It's an architectural gem, conveniently located, and the staff is gracious. It's absolutely top of the line.”

• Friendly, attractive, wonderful location and fabulous room/accommodations.
• Parking costs much too high for this hotel $33.00 per day much too expensive/ should be part of the hotel's service to provide free parking.

“This hotel was fabulous in every aspect. We had a coffee pot, hair blower and a beautiful room with great service. My only complaint is that parking should be complimentary for this hotel. Parking was $33.00 which was ridiculous. Everything else was fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to friends except for the parking situation. Restaurants in hotel were convenient just a little pricey. Local area/walking distance is loaded with wonderful restaurants, trolley service for the monuments and the metro across the street. Wonderful!”

• The staff was so accommodating and our room was in the charming Wardman Towers as opposed to the standard part of the hotel.
• There happens to be a standard (small rooms, boring decor) part of the hotel.

“The hotel staff was responsive when we mentioned it was the first night of our honeymoon and they found the most charming room in their renovated Wardman Towers; a separate wing of the hotel that most travelers wouldn't see. In general, the hotel has "standard" rooms; but if you get lucky enough to stay in the historic Wardman Towers, you must believe me, you'll be lucky enough. Just lovely.”

• Bathroom was a little small, and the hot water took a very long time to come up, but it did!

• There are literally miles of corridors, easy to get lost.

• Hard to say. Everything seemed so grate. I love strong water jet/strong water pressure coming out of the shower.
• Housekeeper don't knock the strong enough before come in or to hear us allowing them or not to come in.

• Can't think of anything.

“The hill side setting among the trees is a nice start. The hotel is very clean with everything that you'd need for traveling, including computers for Internet use, a coffee maker in the room and a flat screen TV. Beds were very nice. And, the staff is quite friendly and helpful.”

“This hotel looks like a country club - exterior and interior superbly maintained and well located in the D.C. area. Hotel has an international flair. Each floor has a separate seating area; fresh carpet, spacious rooms beautifully decorated.”

• Bathrooms from another era weren't nice.

“A sprawling property, even though the Wardman tower is old and a bit tired, it has the character. I had a massive double room with bay windows. lovely. Just needs a freshening in the bath.”

“Service, cleanliness, facility upkeep very good. Good location for business or pleasure. If you self parked the distance and route from lot to hotel was very inconvenient and distant. Hotel did not have guest in/out policy. If you left the lot you did not have return privileges. Staff and security outstanding.”
