• The room was small.

“Overall we were very happy with our stay. The only minor complaint I have is that the room was small. We were traveling with our kids so we got a king room with a pullout sofa. Once the pullout was pulled out there wasn't much room left for anything else. Very tight quarters but a nice clean room. Staff was very friendly, professional and accommodating even though they didn't honor my request for a free upgrade to a suite.”

• Pool was a bit too warm, No room Wi-Fi.

“We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. Close to all of the places that we wanted to visit. Lots of close places to eat, shop and walking distance to the Metro. Wish we had Wi-Fi in our room. All in all was a nice place to stay.”

• This was a lovely-looking hotel in a convenient location.
• Technology problems ruined my stay. A security alarm that went off from about 12AM until 7am.

They only offered free parking ($10) and a free breakfast on our next visit. This was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced due to lack of sleep and poor customer service in response to the situation (the desk staff was nice but not authorized to take care of the situation adequately).”

• Street noise very loud; thin walls too.

“Staff was friendly and helpful. The first set of rooms was not adjoining, but they switched us after two days. We were on the front, odd numbered, side of the hotel and the very loud area. A room on the other side would have been much better, but they were booked. Continental breakfast was available, but for a fee of $13/pp. We opted to buy our own food at Safeway and are the small room fridges. Good proximity to the Roslyn Metro.”

• Nice sized room. My daughter and I each had a Queen sized bed and five pillows each.
• We kept getting shocked when we touched the sides of the beds. We were given static spray but it didn't work.

“Self parking was secure, and a bargain at only $10.00 per day, with the first day free. We liked the size of the rooms and the comfort of the beds/pillows. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and the Metro stop is 3 or 4 blocks away, which makes getting into DC or the airport really easy.”

• Fairly expensive restaurant.

“I was pleased and relieved having not seen the hotel before bidding. Sheets and Towels were changed everyday of our 6 night stay. Restaurants very near the hotel were excellent (Ruby Tuesday & Piono Italian). Safeway grocery store around the block and Starbucks one block away. Metro was about 3 blocks (uphill to the hotel). Small mall inside. Staff friendly and helpful. Computer in lobby with printer. SAFE neighborhood for two ladies to walk. Definitely would recommend to someone who can travel the metro.”

• This is approximately 6th or 7th time out of the last 10 stays at this particular hotel that I have had thermostat problems. Temp can not be controlled.

“As mentioned in the previous answer, this is a serious problem with this hotel. The air either will not come on or it can not be turned off once it is on. The first couple of times I thought it was just a freak coincidence. Now I am convinced that it is a problem that management knows about, but refuses to correct. I don't want to change rooms anymore in the middle of the night because I'm sweating or freezing.”

• Every time I stay here there are problems with the heating/cooling. Being awakened at 8:00 AM by staff for ridiculous reasons.

“On my first morning I was awakened at 8:00 AM to be told that I had a second reservation, of which I obviously knew about, .they said the reservation was for a King and since they had previously placed me in a room with two queen sized beds, .they wanted to know if I wanted to move or stay in the same room. I'm sorry, but could they have not waited until I started to check out or contacted them? Did they have to wake me up twice? They called again to tell me that they would need to scan my credit card for a second time since I was there for a second day. It's hard to rest in this place. I was up late the night before because I could not get the heater to work properly. Three out of my last four stays at this hotel have had heating and internet problems. Two days with being kicked off internet every 5 minutes, .literally. I complained about this problem last time and spoke with their techs. The tech tried to blame the extremely slow speed on the number of people. Not so as it had consistently been slow over a 24 hour period, .mornings, mid day, afternoon, and evening, .even early AM like 3AM, 4AM, 5AM.service was useless. It took two hours to download a program that should have taken 5 to 8 minutes.”

• The thermostat did not work and I sweated all night.

“This is the second time I have stayed in this particular hotel in the last month. Both times I had to move to a different room because it took the heat 2 hours to come on, and then could not be shut off. Same problem a few weeks apart and it was different rooms. This time I slept with window open so I wouldn't have to move in the middle of the night.”

“My sister left her suit in the hotel upon checkout. We called the next day and her suit was mailed/delivered immediately at no charge. Excellent service! The shuttle driver was also very pleasant.”

• Ten dollars a day to park but they do give Friday/sat comp.

• The secure parking lot and friendliness of the staff were truly appreciated.
• Pool hours were restricted to 4pm to 10 pm.

“The courtyard Arlington Roslyn staff was very helpful. Our room was clean and large enough for our family of 4 to move around without tripping over each other. We enjoyed our stay.”

• Clean short walk to metro friendly felt safe day and night.
• The walk back to hotel was up hill.

• Rooms were excellent, very clean, comfortable, and attractive.
• Restaurant only served breakfast and a bit pricy at that (even for DC).

“A very nice hotel with in easy walking distance to the Metro, a Safeway, a CVS, and a range of dining facilities. The hotel itself is attractive, the furnishings nice, the rooms comfortable. The hotel has a fitness room, spa, and swimming pool. The neighborhood is safe and a short distance to both the sites of DC and shopping in Arlington, VA. It's the perfect place (and a bargain) for both business travelers as well as families coming to Washington.”

“This hotel met every one of my expectations for what the trip was about. I did not spend extended periods of time in my room, so the hotel was just what I needed. I was a little disappointed when twice in the same morning when I went down for a cup of complimentary coffee the urn was empty. Also, I was given a ticket to hang on my rearview mirror for the parking garage. However, when driving, it obstructed my view and I had to remove it from the rearview mirror. I forgot to replace it when I parked. Instead of checking my license plate number with the registration desk, I got a warning that my car would be towed if not gone within 24 hours. If I had not used my car that day, it would have been towed. The staff was friendly and helpful.”

“I believe this hotel is under rated. Should be at least a three star or higher. The friendly service, ultra clean facility, comfy beds, quality decor, created a wonderful lodging experience. Located off the main road in a quiet neighborhood. Close too many shops, restaurants, and subway station (metro) to Washington, dc. Highly recommend! Would stay there again.”

• Great price in a very convenient location. The staff was very friendly.
• I did not like the parking fee, for the hotel owned garage.

“A nice value hotel, with a friendly staff. The room was adequate and the cleanliness and upkeep was very good. The fitness room although small was easily accessible and it has sufficient equipment to get a good workout. The hotel is on a one way street which is nice because it remained quiet. The pool hours were limited, but well posted, the pool and hot tub looked well maintained. I would recommend this hotel.”

• It was far better than the star rating indicated.
• Could have used a mirror above the desk.

“The hotel has new furniture, decent and decidedly not-cheesy art on the walls, and is located a very short walk from the metro station. The beds were comfy and everything was nicely appointed. The hotel certainly deserves a full 3 stars and not 2.5!”
