• Beautiful, atrium-style lobby area, convenient to public transportation.
• Front-desk error in overnight parking validation caused conflict when leaving garage, no fridge in room, only decaf coffee in room.

“Conveniently located, atrium-style hotel with numerous amenities. Fantastic deluxe bedding and firm mattress. Quiet, comfortable. Would stay here again.”

• Internet access was an additional cost.

“Great location to many restaurants. Right next to Subway that will take you to the airport for very little cost. Hotel staff very friendly and provided excellent service and provided for our every need. Room cleaning was great. We found no reasons that would not prompt a return visit.”

“I was in Bethesda for a medical appt at The National Institute of Health. The proximity to the facility was the key to my choosing this area to stay in. All in all it was a very pleasurable visit.”

• Saturday night, very lively, great buzz feeling but kid friendly too.
• Got a 5 am and 7 am wake up calls, not requested, but was given continental breakfast to make up.

“Great location, right over the metro and right in the center of the town. Glass elevators much loved by the kids. Great for people watching, we felt just relaxed and happy with the atmosphere. Besides the unwanted wakeup calls, everything was super. Room service seemed expensive with 18 % surcharge plus $3 delivery charge on top of high prices - we gave it a miss.”

“The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and the staff is very accommodating. The best part is that it sits on the Bethesda Metro Station and it is only a 17 minute ride to the National Mall. You do not want to drive to the sites in DC. The Metro can even reach to Arlington Cemetery. On the top floor there is a pool and a great hot tub, which was a pleasure after a long day in DC. Great restaurants are in the area or a few stops away. Loved the 4 day visit.”

• One parking attendant was quite rude.

“Comfortable and clean room. Beds very comfortable. Nicely furnished. Bathroom was a delight. Very professional and helpful desk staff. I really liked this hotel and hope to stay there again. Internet access should be free in a hotel of this caliber, but was not.”

• The location, atmosphere, availability of restaurants and shops was wonderful. The hotel staff was friendly and cordial.
• I did not like having to pay for internet service. I feel internet should be complimentary.

• Convenient location in Bethesda, excellent dining.
• Too much activity after 11pm, could still hear noises in the lobby.

“Overall, a very, very good stay. The room was immaculate, and bed linens and toiletries were restocked every time I came back. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and the dining options were top-rate. The only complaint I have is that I could still hear activity in the main lobby (I was on the 2nd floor) even after 11pm, when I had to go to sleep. Other than that, however, the hotel far exceeded my expectations.”

• Smoking allowed and there are non smoking rooms located near smoking rooms.

“Needs updating. My room was so smoky that I had to change rooms. The guy that came to give me the key asked if I was smoking in my room. I told him that is why I was changing my room. He said the smell was very strong when I opened my door.”

• Parking fee of $17/night was a little excessive, but not unbearable.

“Fantastic atrium lobby spanning all floors. The staff was a little up tight, but that's to be expected for a Hyatt like this one. Restaurants were good and not too overpriced. Great indoor pool and hot tub on the top of the hotel with killer views.”

“This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are fine, although a little dated (i.e. chipped bathroom counters). Stay away from the Daily Grill restaurant unless you want to drink a lot -- the bartender is very pushy -- she asked 4 times within 15 minutes if I wanted another beer, although it was obvious my glass was half full (literally).”

• Metro located below hotel with parking garage. Very convenient to Downtown DC, Chinatown, mall 20 to 30 minutes.
• Parking garage cost $10 overnight, would have been more without hotel stay.

“Excellent hotel in downtown Bethesda. Lovely interior, pleasant staff. We checked out the pool and fitness center and found that great too. We had a little trouble finding the hotel among all the tall buildings. Parking is under the hotel and was $10 for our overnight stay. Metro was located under the hotel which we found very convenient. You go down to the lobby, out the door and over to the elevator (20 feet?) that takes you to the metro or the different levels of the parking. Garage. We had dinner in Chinatown. Took about 25 minutes to go to DC from Bethesda. If we had stayed longer it would have been fun to go to the DC mall museums without the parking worries.”

• Great location, right on top of the metro.
• Room had very strong perfume odor.

“Hotel is well located and makes a generally favorable first impression. However, our room smelled very strongly of perfume. When we called to complain, we were told that housekeeping sprays all the rooms with some type of odorizer and that moving would not improve the situation. Running the fan on high did not solve the problem. It was worse than being in a smoking room and interfered with our ability to sleep. There were other problems: loose handles on the taps, coffee packets with no coffee in them, and slow reaction to complaints.”

• Location is very convenient to metro and to many restaurants.
• Atrium rooms are noisy and the hotel underground parking garage is very confusing due to construction work.

“The rooms are attractively designed with dark wood furniture and artwork reflecting local sites in Washington. The bathrooms, while not extremely large, are very clean and comfortably outfitted with amenities like curved shower curtain rods, wicker towel baskets, and portico spa white ginger bath products. My main complaint was that my room was rather noisy. Loud conversations and music from an event being held in the atrium could be clearly heard rather late into the night. Also, the underground parking garage at the hotel is currently undergoing some construction. Some exits are blocked but this is not at all well signposted, so it was hard to find the correct way out. Nonetheless, I had a good stay and would be happy to receive this property again.”

“We were welcomed with kindness at the door; the room was as we expected good size, clean, nicely decorated and a lot of light. We did not use other facilities like the pool or the restaurants, since our trip was to visit family and some shopping. We will recommend this hotel to anybody going to Bethesda.”

• It's conveniently right above the metro station.
• The room ventilation bothered my sinuses.

“The location is very convenient to public transportation and there are restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The staff is friendly and very helpful. But the room ventilation dried out and irritated my sinuses, which tend to be sensitive. Also, the walls are very thin and I had trouble sleeping one night due to noise from the next room.”

• I would like to know that parking would be extra before I book the hotel. It was an extra $12 per day!

“Very nice hotel in a fabulous location. The food was good but nothing incredible for the price. It looked fancy but really weighed me down. My room was very nice except for some slight mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Very good sound proofing which helps when trying to sleep for a meeting.”

• Location is convenient. Parking attendants very friendly & helpful.
• Poor wiring in desk area; hotel lobby area was too warm.

“This Hyatt regency is not as nice as others in the chain. Hotel is in need of some modernization. However the parking attendants are very friendly and helpful, and even directed us to a parking garage that was free on weekends. Free internet use would have been a good amenity to offset the older feel of this hotel. Location is convenient - close to restaurants, Safeway, caves, la Madeleine (great cafe), and metro.”
