• Grocery store across street made it cheap and easy to get something to eat.
• The $10 surprise parking charge took a bite out.

• Big beautiful room - 2 king beds - very nice bathroom - A/C worked perfectly - free coffee in the lobby.
• No free breakfast (not even continental). But that's it.

“I had excellent accommodations at a discount-motel price. The hotel is across from stops for multiple bus routes that connect with the Metro as well as a small shopping center with a supermarket, 7-11 and "Subway."”

• Everything from the representatives to the facilities.
• The $10 parking fee. That is the only parking. Mine was waived which made the experience even better.

• I had all the service I expected. The room is clean and the air is fresh with air condition keeping working.
• I lost a brand new umbrella on the shuttle and could not find it any more.

“Overall this is a nice hotel to stay in. The room is clean and the air in the room is fresh with air condition keeping running. Some grocery stores are around there, which brought us a lot of convenience for my kids' needs. The price is reasonable. With the service I had, it was worthy.”

• Fresh baked cookies were very good, but not always available.
• Had to bring in my own bags no one behind the counter tried to help me they just looked.

“The location was convenient, but out of the way. The staff was friendly, but not very helpful and not too bright. The pool looked dirty. Didn't like the fact the parking wasn't free, why should I have to pay extra to park when Im the guest who's already paid for the room. The rooms were small and the bathroom was cramped.”

• It's easy to get there from highway.
• The A/C is so noisy, feel like sleep on airplane.

“The location, public area is great and they have an indoor pool. The front desk staff is helpful. But the A/C is not central control. It's so noisy which you can not ignore during the night. The outside unit from other room still bothers us even I turned our AC off. We asked a room transfer and the room on the other side of the building is not good either, we can hear the traffic passing by. Bring your ear plug if you will stay in this hotel.”

• The rooms were small but very comfortable.
• The staff communication of necessary information was poor, both to guests and to other staff.

“Our room had two double beds and an armchair. No sleep sofa as stated in promotional materials. There are no additional beds available at this location. The beds we did have were very comfortable. The hotel shuttle service was very unreliable and it was hit or miss on whether the shuttle driver you got was helpful. No car seats were available and we were told to put multiple children in a single seatbelt when it was full. There was no back-up to prevent other guests from having to wait another full shuttle cycle if the shuttle filled up. The housekeeping staff was adequate. The room was kept clean but there was no attempt to go "above and beyond". On check-out day, although we had until noon to check out, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked at 8:30 a.m. and woke the entire family. The convenience center was nice. There was a microwave available and snacks and drinks. Two computers were available for public use and the wireless network was easy to access with our laptops from both the lobby and our rooms. The speed was good, but not great. We did not eat at the restaurant. The cheapest breakfast was breakfast Burritos for over $8. We did not see one customer in the restaurant for dinner during our stay, so it didn't look very inviting.”

• Very clean and convenient to DC with the hotel shuttle.
• The hotel was very crowded and the breakfast was very expensive for our family.

“A clean and comfortable place to stay. The breakfast was pricy for a family. The hotel pool was great and a lifeguard was on duty. The hotel shuttle was very helpful although the scheduled pick ups were unpredictable on occasion.”

• We loved the view from the 11th floor.
• Parking was expensive- it should be included in the price of the room. We got lost trying to find the entrance the 1st time.

“We had a pleasant stay. Staff were friendly. Very busy traffic area, but I guess that's to be expected near D.C. Be sure to add $10 to your budget- parking is $10 a day! We did not expect that.”

• Slow service in the restaurant and the smoking area between the garage and the guest entrance.

“Overall, the stay was very nice. The staff was very friendly and I felt very secure. You had to have a room key to enter the parking garage, and walking to the hotel was only a few steps away. The only thing that I did not appreciate was the closest entrance to the hotel from the garage was walking through the outside smoking area. This was very uncomfortable as I am pregnant and try to avoid those places.”

• Location was a little out of the way.

“My husband and I wanted an affordable place to say while visiting DC. While the hotel itself is out of the way they provide a shuttle service to the DC metro as well as the airport. The hotel is recently remodeled and was very nice. It was really booked being the summer and all, so we were not able to change to a king size bed but other than that it was fine. The pool has a lifeguard which is unusual for a hotel but as a result the hours are not that great. 5-10 pm.”

“He did however provide one bit of useful information, he said that the gm of the hotel allows the staff to use his personal vehicle to take guests to and from the airport. While the idea of this was really nice, not something I'd want my employee telling people----what a liability! On a positive note, the hotel was very clean and all other staff members were fantastic! I would hire him to our company any day!”

“Disorganized hotel near nothing. Room was not ready past check in time. Then when it was ready, I was given a king bed and a non handicapped accessible room, despite having called a month in advance to request same (and being assured on the phone that there was no problem). This hotel is miles from old town Alexandria. It is actually near nothing except the beltway.”

“Overall we had a good stay. We had 4 rooms of family members that stayed for two nights. We were lucky to have rooms that joined together. The rooms were clean and nice. The breakfast price was too expensive for everyone, so we ended up leaving to get breakfast out to bring back to the rooms.”

• Everything the beds were very comfortable! We felt safe at this hotel, we enjoyed the pool and fitness center, and the staff treated us great!

“This was truly one of the greatest decisions of my life! Wow! I told him that it was my birthday, and that he couldn't have given me a better gift than that, and then he went a step further by allowing me to have the orange juice I wanted to purchase at no cost. We were treated very nicely by all of the hotels employees, and their airport shuttles were prompt each time we called for them; the drivers were very good at handling their van in the city traffic too.”

• Restaurant too expensive, $10 charge for car should be waived.

“This is a very good hotel, the best of all the hotels we stayed on the trip. We enjoyed the indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Room is very well decorated, nice bedding and shower curtain. Nice shampoo, lotion, etc. From the window, we can see the capital hill and Pentagon There are grocery stores and reasonable priced restaurant across the street. Only thing is we hope the hotel will include parking. Hotel restaurant is too expensive, not family oriented. Hotel needs 2 more computers in the business room session. Overall It's the best exp. we had in the trip.”

“I really expected this hotel to have a free breakfast. It would have also been great if it would have had a fridge in the room for my 1 year olds milk. We had to go down stairs to get her milk for a bottle because we could not store it in the room.”

“The courtyard by Marriott is conveniently located just off i-395 about 10 minutes to downtown Washington. The staff was friendly, the rooms were decent, and the free shuttle to the metro was a nice touch. However, I found dirty towels left in my room from the previous guest, and I found the floor and guest room in general to look dirty, as if it hadn't been cleaned/vacuumed properly before I arrived.”

Must have room key to enter detached garage. I saw several people that had forgotten their key and have to return to their room to retrieve it.”

• Good location, reasonable price.
• The hotel has a multi-storied bldg for parking (paid by the guest). The elevator to get down from the upper levels is mal-functioning.

“Everything with this hotel is good, other than the parking. Firstly, parking is paid by the guest (I guess it is around $10 per night). Secondly the elevator on the parking garage bldg malfunctions. If you are no holding on the 'open doors' button, the doors close, even if someone is getting into the elevator. So, practically if 4 people are entering into the elevator, after the second person enters the elevator, the doors automatically close irrespective of whether the third person is in-between the doors. Thought I should complain to the hotel authorities, but could not get time to do it. I checked the elevator permit issued by the state got, to be expiring by next month. So, the hotel should be automatically fixing this error before it renews the permit.”

• No one to assist with luggage. No explanation of all of the functions that the room entry card could be used, i.e., for entrance to the garage.

“I felt that the level of services, amenities, etc was more in tune to a motel rather than a hotel. The level of services was compatible with the 2 1/2 star rating.”

• The bed was fantastic! Much better than the typical hotel bed.
• Hard to drive to when not knowing the area well.

“The front desk staff was wonderful. They answered many tourist questions for us and provided us with suggestions and information, all with a smile. The room was a little considering it contained a king size bed but more than sufficient for a sleeping room.”

• It was a very pleasant experience; the staff was efficient and friendly, the room was spacious and clean; exceeded my expectations.
• The bathroom was too cramped.

“Staying 4 night gave me plenty of time to experience most of the benefits of the hotel. The restaurant staff was friendly but polite, and the food was well prepared. I never felt either ignored or pushed to finish. This is a very clean and efficiently run hotel and I would want to book a stay there on my next visit.”

“This hotel is close to everything, nightlife, shopping malls, culture areas, this is a very nice place to stay, all the amenities you could find in a 5 star hotel, it is easy to get into the dc area by metro rail and fairly priced, or if you prefer the taxi service is right outside and always available, the hotel offers overnight mail service with no extra fees, and the staff is knowledgeable in area events¿”
