• The hotel drivers were friendly and very good drivers..
• Staff not helpful and things we requested not available.

“This was the worst Comfort Inn we ever stayed in.. We spent 3 days there and our kids could not swim the whole time because they said there lifeguard went home. When we made reservations the main thing we looked for was pool. SO our kids spent time that we were not in Washington sitting in room very bored. Staff refused to give us roll away bed that we were told wopuld be there when we arrived .. Had to call the main branch which took hours to remedy the situation. We were told we would not be charged for it.. But the person who was at the desk charged us anyway.. We would not recommend this hotel or ever stay there again.. The only bright spot to this hotel was the restuarant and the drivers who took us to the metro...”

• It was convenient to the metro station.
• Rooms very small and hotel was dated.

“It was clean but not fancy. Very dated furniture (decorated in the early 90s and oddly as if I were in Florida) and rooms were very small - the smallest I've seen and I've stayed in NYC. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the shuttle drivers were very pleasant. I can't say it was the best hotel I've stayed at therefore, I did give it a mediocre rating but for the time I was in the room, it was fine. Wouldn't want to be there for more than 3 nights or take my family there for a vacation stay.”

• The staff seemed friendly.
• It was not cleaned properly. They gave my requested room away. It was located in a high traffic area, hard to get in and out of the hotel.

“The hotel overbooked the room that we had called and requested over a month in advance. We paid extra for a refrigerator that was not made record of. There were teenagers running all over the hotel, screaming and jumping up and down. The whirlpool tubs were not properly kept up and cleaned. When we turned it on for our two little kids all sorts of debris flew out of the jets. The only pool was outside. The wallpaper was coming off of the wall. One side of the room electricity did not work. One of the lamps didn't even have a bulb in it. We have stayed at plenty of Comfort Inns before and never expected such deplorable conditions.”

• Easily accessible location near Metro.
• Limited breakfast choices. That area poorly arranged.

“In D.C. for retirement of family member from the Army. This hotel only 2 miles from their house, so it was chosen primarily on it's location. Stayed 4 nights. Did not use any facilities except the breakfast bar once. Tried one other time, but it was filled with students and there was no seating. Basically clean. Furniture adequate, but king room was very small with no storage area for luggage. Small table and chairs but no desk. Older TV.”

• Quiet.
• Could use some refurbishing of the rooms, beds/pillows need to be replaced.

“Although the rooms need updating they were clean. We had a room on the top floor and although the hotel seemed busy we did not have any neighbors next to us which kept our evenings peaceful.”

• The evening desk clerk, she was very friendly.
• The hotel had ants in the bathroom, I reported it, however, they failed to take care of the situation.

• Clean, friendly staff and
  close to the metro with free transportation.

“This hotel was great. It was very clean and well decorated, staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had a comfy king sized bed, free WiFi, and a little coffee pot for the a.m. Breakfast was good, with belgian waffles and healthier items like fresh fruit and yogurt.”

• Location to Beltway exit and Metro was great! Very, very convenient.

“For me, I needed something inexpensive, and close to the Metro for my convenience to get into and out of the DC center. This location was perfect. I could walk to Metro station if I had to, feeling safe to do so, but on weekends this Metro station has plentiful free parking.”

• Location was close to major interstates and Old Towne Alexandria.
• Our room was not ready until 2:30. We just drove 12 hours and had to get a smoking room.

“This hotel is nothing extravagent but it is a clean place to sleep and is close to I-95/I-495 and to downtown DC. The price is decent for the location.”

• End time on breakfast was early.

“This was a nice place to come back and relax after spending the day walking around Washington. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a continental breakfast made things nice. Also, other guests all seemed happy and were friendly. I would say this is a nice place to stay.”

• Air conditioner made an annoying cycling noise, no fan in bathroom, no cleaning supplies in exercise room.

• Room was large, friendly staff, clean.
• Needs better ventilation in bathroom, no fans and the steam buildup was bad, also the water pressure wasn't very good.

“I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Comfort Inn, after reading some reviews. I wasn't really sure that I was going to want to stay there. The night desk clerk was very friendly and helpful when I checked in, the room was great. king bed, 2 arm chairs with foot stools, table with 2 chairs, TV stand and still plenty of room and the bathroom was also very large. We had a refrigerator which was nice since we were staying four nights. The shuttle to the Metro station was really nice, the driver was on call all day and would be there within 10 minutes of calling to be picked up. I would stay there again when visiting the DC area. The free parking was also a big plus since some hotels charge up to $35 extra a day to park.”

• All of the people working at the desks were helpful, friendly and polite as were the shuttle drivers.
• The sink was not separated from the shower.

“This Comfort Inn is clean and well staffed. The shuttle drivers were very good about transporting us to and from the Metro.”

• I liked the price and the location right off the highway and not too far from the attractions in Washington D.C.
• The dining area seemed crowded with people who smoked and drank alcohol. This was the week of Rolling Thunder.

• Not near public transportation and hotel shuttle to it runs only until 9:45 pm and starts too late in morning.

“The web site said the shuttle to the subway ran till 11 pm but it doesn't, so not a good hotel to stay in if don't have a car and wanted to stay out late. Hotel is hard to find.”

• The hotel was fully booked, so they suggested and sent me to another hotel. I hate this hotel.

“We stay at this hotel every Memorial Day weekend, and have yet to be disappointed. The staff is sometimes missing from the front desk, and we've had to wait a few minutes to get checked-out. During check-in, our room wasn't ready at 3 p.m. so we had to wait around until it was ready. They did offer apologies though, which was a nice gesture considering I've been to many hotels where they don't bother. The free breakfast is great- you can make your own waffles, cereal, fruit, Danishes, bagels, juice, coffee, tea. I've used the free wireless internet with no problems. Our room has always been clean and the refrigerator is always a nice addition.”

• The window was leaking a lot during a rain storm.

“It suited our purpose nicely. just a place to sleep at night and grab breakfast in the morning before sight-seeing. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The reception desk was manned by friendly, helpful people. Overall, it was a good experience.”

• Moved my room the 2nd day.

“Very poor management. I checked in to be told I would have to move the next morning. No one cared about the hardship moving on the same morning as I was attending the funeral imposed. I got nothing but a shrug of the shoulder from any of the clerks or the manager and no answer as to why I had to move. Moving involved packing everything up and putting it in a closet till I got back from the funeral, then waiting around for another room to become available. All in all, I would never recommend this motel to anyone!”

• Could have had better water pressure in the shower. The water damage on the ceiling subtracted from the rooms overall appearance. No remote for TV.

• It is not near anything; eat before you get back to your room.

“Your family will be fine at this hotel. One staff member told me that I could not get a cot or a double room. Thankfully a shift change occurred and the next clerk went out of her way to help us get a double room. The shuttle service was excellent and breakfast was fine.”

“Wallpaper was falling down in several places in room. Asked for a new shower head and got one, better pressure. AC was extremely loud when turned on. Clean beds and maid service very good. Rooms were showing their age. The floors in lobby were dirty and the staff wasn't always happy to help. You get what you pay for.”

“In general, it is a pretty good 2-star hotel with a huge bathroom. The shuttle from hotel to nearby metro station is frequent and fast, but it did delay once during my stay there. The breakfast would be great if there is banana there. Also, the room carpet seems old and need to be changed.”

“I would not stay in this hotel again because I requested early check-in a week prior to arriving but when I checked the hotel staff knew nothing of my request. The room was dirty, the maids had to come and clean it again. It was not accommodating or a friendly atmosphere to me.”

• They were close to the subway and had a shuttle.
• The entire hotel smelled of smoke. It took 3 rooms before they gave us a reasonable one.

“The staff was helpful but they put is in several rooms that were obviously smoked in regularly. After the 2nd try at smoky rooms, I looked at a different floor and found that some floors had no smoking placards on the wall (but not the floor they were putting us on). After requesting a different floor, we were lectured about how the other rooms are really not smoking rooms and so on. They ended up providing a suite (which was a free upgrade, even though one of us had to sleep on a couch). The whole hotel was smoky and for those of us who are allergic to smoke, its a real problem when we can't get a truly non-smoking room.”

• The breakfast was good.
• It was dirty, 4 of us stayed in a double bed, things were broken, and it was not in a good neighborhood.

“This hotel was not in a good area, the cost was good but the hotel was not. The staff was rude and did not speak English very well. No one was there to greet us when we checked out, we waited for several minutes. When asked for extra pillows and blankets no words were spoken the things were just handed to us. We were told when we checked in that we would get a queen bed, but only got a twin (with 2 adults and 2 children).”

• The location was perfect. Not near Downtown, but right at I-95.

“The hotel is located right off of I-95, so was perfect for our quick stay. We spent Christmas night here, and wanted something close to dc so that we could go see the sights after dark. It took maybe 20 minutes to get to the lawn, and with the interstate right there, it was a breeze! The bed was very comfy, and there was a refrigerator in the room (which was a pleasant surprise). Water pressure in the shower was the only downside. Not really there. Overall a great place if you get a great deal!”

“Not bad for price, however the advertised wireless internet didn't work in the room, signal was too weak, I phoned the help desk and after they rebooted I was still unable to connect. Once in three days I did connect in the hotel lobby.”
