• Newly remodeled rooms. Very clean. Friendly staff.
• A little hard to find. Sits back off the main road.

“The Marriot is undergoing remodeling. My room had been newly remodel. I think I may have even been the first guest to stay in the room since the remodeling. Very well appointed room with large, flat screen TV, luxuries bedding, Bath & Body Works toiletries, granite countertops in work area and bathroom. Nice job Marriot!”

• Comfortable beds and nice rooms.
• No free internet connection - ridiculous.

“The hotel was clean and well maintained. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were nice. The staff was very nice as well. My only complaint is the lack of free internet access, which should be standard nowadays. Payment for internet access is also bundled with phone call packages, so you're paying for a lot that you might not use. There is one, sad little computer in the business lounge, but if you have real work to do you're paying for it.”

• Bed no good, sheets kept coming off, pillows hard.

“Went for weekend rest. The bed was not comfortable. The pillows were very hard. There was noise from construction all day, Friday and Saturday. There was a fire alarm and we were told to evacuate. When it was over and we got back to our rooms, the loud speaker in room keep beeping for a very long time, not very restful weekend.”

• Undergoing renovation. Construction noise levels were high.

“Typical Marriott. Very clean rooms and lobby. Sheets and pillows were excellent, bath towels were rough and uncomfortable. HVAC in room needed repair (was done quickly after being requested).”

“This hotel was absolutely wonderful. The front desk was helpful locating places to go for dinner, they were very friendly. The hotel itself was very neat and clean. Accommodations were very comfortable and luxurious. I plan on staying there again.”

• The front desk employees, great customer service.
• The thin walls, the maids talking to one another very loudly early in the morning, the hammering at 8:00am.if you want to get sleep, dont stay here.

“When paying to stay in a hotel, you should not have to worry about being disturbed and having people being very noisy early in the morning. You should never have to worry about that. I stayed there to get work done the night before; I worked until 3 in the morning in peace but even if its 12 noon, its a hotel so the people who work there should never are so loud in the hallways. Especially not for over 2 hours. The hammering beginning that early with no warning to the guests who pay to stay there is also very inconsiderate. .”

• The location and the value that I got for my money. The hotel was more upscale then expected.

• Non-smoking rooms with no noise in the hallways.
• Somewhat difficult to locate. Too many side streets to turn off onto; especially, when attempting to return to the highway (I-270).

“I think that for the price they charge, they could include high speed internet. Also, it would be nice to have inputs in the TV for DVD players or gaming consoles. The staffs were accommodating and friendly, and the room was well appointed and comfortable.”

• It was definitely upscale, but lots of the little things were missing.
• The bed. Marriot raves about their beds, they suck.

“I don't know if it was just the room I got or not, but the bed was awful. One side was sunk in and so soft I wakeup in the middle of the night with an aching back. They rave about these "Replenish" beds, but I think the bed really kind of sucked. Overall the hotel was nice, the room was nice also. The staff was nice, but the night shift kind of seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. I'd like to add that the front desk clerk had to go get a manager when I first arrived and kept pointing at the screen and saying "that can't be right". I think the second charge of $25 was for a $9.95 a day internet fee, which I only stayed for a day so I'm not sure why I was double billed. The fact that they charge for internet in the first place puts them at the bottom of my list of quality hotels. Overall I'd say my experience has been more unpleasant than anything. If I could choose a hotel not to get next time, it would be Marriott. I'll never stay at another Marriott paying full price, I can guarantee you that. I'd rather give my money to one of the other upscale hotels that take care of their customers.”

• The hotel is easily located off I270 and the staff excels at customer service!
• I did not receive Marriott reward points for my stay. Very disappointing.

“While the decor of the hotel is clean it is not up to date like the other full service Marriott hotels. Breakfast was prepared exactly like I ordered. Parking is tough if you arrive late.”

• Glass glasses in the room rather than plastic rates up there for me.
• I like everything.

“The room was clean and well decorated. Not brown! It looked, felt and smelled clean. There were real glasses not the cheesy plastic glasses that most hotels put in the room. This is the first test to pass as a nice hotel in my book. The ice bucket was insulated, the carpet attractive. For a tired traveler it was heaven. The bed was very comfortable. The Starbucks coffee in the lobby was a plus for me. Room service was prompt as well as available late.”

“I have stayed at this hotel twice now, and each time has been great. The location is nice with a variety of things to do and see within easy walking distance. Free internet would be a nice feature that would really make this a nice bargain.”

• Horrible mattress. When we complained we were told all beds are the same!

“Average room with horrible mattresses, felt like you were sleeping in a hammock, when we complained we were told that all mattresses were the same so they gave us a small board to put under the mattress which did not help. Asked for a small fridge and was told that one would be send up which it wasn't. After complaining again they told us all fridges were being used. Finally, one arrived in our room the last night of our stay. We were charged for 2 days of internet access but only used it on 1 day. The front staff corrected the error without issue. Went to use pool and saw a sign that said "pool is closed when no lifeguard on duty" I walked around the pool and found the lifeguard hiding/listen to iPod hoping that no one would see him and just leave. After jumping in the pool he gave me a look like I was disturbing his precious time. Only good thing to say is that the hotel is conveniently location just off the highway. Only 2-Star hotel not a 3.”

• Great location-lots of bars, shops etc in walking distance.
• Business center was small, cramped. Hassled by other guests to vacate premises after only 5 minutes online.

“Excellent facility for both business and leisure travel. Clean, spacious, comfortable environment. Friendly and helpful staff, especially front desk receptionist and bar staff. Everyone was very willing to chat and offer tourist advice. Great location-many shops and restaurants within walking distance and great view of beautiful lake from my room. Only complaint would be the paucity of the business facilities offered-no wireless in rooms, small cramped business center, no desks in lobby to use laptop, and access free wireless.”

• It is very nice to be able to walk to some restaurants and to stores.
• The shower curtain was missing a shower hook and the ice bucket had black dirt in it and no bag was available.

“We have stayed on several occasions and have enjoyed our stay. It is usually very nice. We have had only a few small problems. I told them about something that had not been up to par one time and we did not even get an apology (just because we tell them about something does not mean we are asking for a discount or a free night). Just would like it taken care of before we stay again.”

• Room size, though adequate, could have been bigger.

“Friendly staff. Clean Rooms. Nearby to Metro. Conveniently located to restaurants and shopping. Beautiful view of river. Nice pool and hot tub. Though I did not use it, nice exercise room. Cleaning staff were attentive to my needs without me verbalizing. For example, they took it upon themselves to provide a refrigerator for drink storage. Easy access to interstate.”

• Customer service indicated that that would be a flat panel TV in my room, we had a normal TV. Also the front desk said king size bed we got queen.

• Our plan was to find a clean, hotel, got much, more.
• Its not about the hotel but outside was a odor, that mini garbage truck, but other areas [miles away ] had the same odor, maybe a type of plants.

“Loved the food stops and shopping in the area it kept in line with my budget. The view from my room was the best, and if it was warmer besides the one day we had, it could have been a vacation rather than a bus. Trip, please loved the staff.”

• This hotel truly holds up to the Marriott name. Great breakfast, pool, and view.
• I called ahead well in advance to secure adjoining rooms for our group but my request was not honored.

“If you're looking for a place that's convenient, elegant, romantic, and affordable then this is the place for you. There was a soccer league staying there at the same time but I never heard them. This was my second time at this location. I have to say that it was a great stay both times.”

• Pool. A bit small to be useful.

• Beautiful linens - bed and bath! Comfortable arm chair.
• Restaurant could be improved; e.g. eggs benedict served cold, "eggs up: overcooked.

“This is a lovely hotel, but the location is not for a business person or one not familiar with the area. It is hard to find and to reach during rush hours. However, we were just visiting, and I am from Potomac originally so we had no problem. We are very pleased with what we get!”
