  • The showers are very relaxing.
  • Loud. Lots of kids running around. Rooms are noisy due to proximity to Capital Beltway.

“It's an older hotel, showing it's age. The elevators are tiny and slow. Good luck catching one if there's much of a line. It's also one of the noisiest places I've ever stayed in. The roar of the Beltway in your room will be constant, puncuated by occasional slams from compressors shutting down. Get a good night's sleep
before you arrive; you won't get one after.”

  • Friendly staff.
  • The hotel is rather start in comparison to other comparable hotels in the area. The staff, however, are so nice at the front desk, it makes up for it.

  • Friendly service in all areas except the restaurant. New decor is great!
  • The restaurant always gets low marks; not necessarily the food, but the service in the dining room. Same old. The lounge staff is great.

“The hotel has improved tremendously in looks; the front desk have always been exceptional; the lounge wait staff is great too. The restaurant staff needs training on how to be gracious to guests etc.”

  • The people are friendly, but incompetent.

“Good location near Tyson's Corner, but you should expect to spend a lot of time with management. I finally gave up and started paying for erroneous charges rather than invest the time to correct them. I think the management counts on its guests being too busy to argue over all the hidden charges. You're much better off at the Marriott across the Beltway.”

“This was a very nice Hotel. It was nice looking and very clean. There was ample Free Parking. The Hotel is 12 miles from Downtown D.C. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linens were very nice. The first night we stayed here we checked, dropped off our bags, and went out to see the city. When we returned the Keys would not unlock the door. It turned out there was a problem with the battery and the repair man could not get there until Morning. We were given another room and toiletries. At 7am they were able to unlock the door and get us our things. The Manager gave us free lunch as compensation; however the restaurant food was terrible! We traveled as a couple with our two small children.”

  • Very clean and close to all shopping and Metro stop.
  • The pool closed at 9 p.m. hard to enjoy if you are arriving late from dinner or shopping. Would help to be open till 11 p.m.

  • The hotel is very clean and tidy. Love it.
  • No free internet connection in room. Pool hours are too short.

“This is a wonderful hotel to stay at. It has the overall comforts of home. As described earlier, the pool hours should be open longer and throughout the entire day, versus 5-6 hours chunks. Also, each room should have free internet access (wired or wireless) versus the near $11 per 24 hr period. The lobby being the only place to get free wireless is pretty cheesy for this class of hotel; also factoring in the seating is limited and has minimal power outlets available (to plug in your laptops). But overall, the Westin at Falls Church is very nice and will stay there again. Cleanliness and friendliness of the staff is the most important for any hotel stay.”

  • The beds and pillows were outstanding! So comfortable!
  • The remote control didn't work well. And it was a bit far from DC.

“The hotel is lovely; the beds are so comfortable that one just falls to sleep instantly in soft, enveloping comfort! The lobby is equipped with comfortable chairs for reading, and the Starbucks in the lobby is a great plus for a grab and go breakfast! The pool, Jacuzzi and fitness room are available, although the pool was not available during the day hours. It was a wonderful experience, and I wished I could have stayed longer!”

  • As a three star. Nothing.
  • The business center was usually busy with hotel employees often on one of the two computers.

“I was there two weeks and placed in what seemed like the cheap seat rooms on the second floor. Often there were long queue for the elevator and the steps were all locked, so you couldn't walk up or down without setting off the alarm. The hallway had bus loads of kids running up and down the hall till late hours. The smell coming off the kitchen vents just outside my window usually smelled very strong from whatever the kitchen was cooking. Overall well below what I expect of a 3 star or for that matter a two star hotel. The location was good though.”

  • Room was small and dirty; extremely narrow with stains on carpet and hair left in bathroom.

“Westin is OK for business; convenient to Tysons Corner. Don't plan to stick around the hotel longer than you have to; the bar is small and unfriendly. Restaurant food is OK but the service is slow. Better food is available across the Beltway in Tysons Corner.”

  • We were treated as second class travelers.

“I thought the hotel was nice and convenient. My complaint is two fold. One, we asked for a King Bed prior to arriving but that request was denied by the front desk because they said they were booked. I checked by trying to make a reservation and there did not seem to be a problem with getting a room. Two, while there, we had a problem with water pouring into our bathroom from the bathroom above when their shower was used. Management said they would look into it and move us since we had dinner reservations and had to leave. We arrived back late and found that yes they had another room which they said had our belongings in it only to find out that was not true. Our belongings had not been moved. Rather than disturbing other quests at 11:00 PM by moving we stayed in our original room to be awakened at 6:00 AM by water pouring into our bathroom again from above with the sheetrock falling from the ceiling. The front desk was nice when checking out by could not do anything according to them but provide a free lunch. It was 8:00 AM and we were not waiting for a few hours to get a lunch that would not be anymore than a sandwich. The front desk comment was that each Westin stands on its own and they could not offer assistance in a voucher for a future stay.”

  • Helpful and friendly Staff at reception. Free shuttles to the metro station, LCD TV.
  • House keeping is far below expectation, No free internet in the room, Very expensive breakfast.

“We had a good time there. Rooms are good size and new, very comfortable beds and nice LCD TV. House keeping was disappointing as one night they didn't change towels and the other night the room was totally not done and we needed to call that they will do it. Over all it was a good experience and we saved money on using the free shuttle to the metro. I think they can do better with less expensive breakfast and make internet free in the rooms.”

  • Elevators beat up, charged for wireless.

“A very conveniently located older hotel totally freshened with modern decor. Ample parking, abundant and friendly reception staff. The room was nice, spacious, well appointed for business travelers and very stylish for weekenders. Flat panel TV, nice business desk. The only apparent downsides - the elevators looked old and beat up; definitely cheapened the place. And they charged $10.95 for wireless. Who charges for wireless anymore?”

  • No hot water on Tuesday. They fixed the problem, but did not offer any compensation.

“The hotel met my expectations. I enjoyed the Weston's modern atmospherics. The workout room was exceptional. I was unhappy on Tuesday when the was no hot water, none! The staff was aware of the problem but did not offer any compensation--something I expect from a nice hotel. I am not anxious to stay at the Westin on my next stay.”

  • Convenient location near Tyson's Corner.
  • Cramp rooms are incredibly noisy, overlooking Capital Beltway.

“Great location near Tyson's Corner. Rooms are cramped and sparsely furnished. What's worse, the noise from the Beltway will wake you up at night. They have spotlights shining on the hotel, directly into your room, so keeping your curtains closed is a must. So much for the view. Only one restaurant on the premises; staff looks bored, and ends up ignoring you. Strongly recommend you visit some of the other fine restaurants in Tyson's Corner, but there are none within walking distance. Classic case of hotel management exploiting a captive clientele.”
