• Shuttle service to metro. Clean and friendly.
• Smaller rooms but still very nice.

“Was very pleased with the rate that I was able to book this hotel room. Good quality and excellent customer service. Enjoyed the cleanliness and relaxed setting. Superb surroundings just outside of Washington D.C. We even spotted deer among the beautiful wooded area of this hotel.”

• Large room, lovely views from higher floors.
• No fridge or microwave in room, some housekeepers were stingy with towels and paper coffee cups.

“This is primarily a business travelers hotel. It is located in a quiet, semi-secluded, high-tech business park with lots of trees, a pond and small lake, and some walking trails. It provides a shuttle to the Metro (subway) for trips to Washington DC, Arlington VA, etc. Other than the hotel's restaurant and adjoining food court with two eateries, you'll need a car to get to restaurants and shopping a few miles away. It has an indoor/outdoor pool, free garage and lot parking, and a well-equipped fitness center. Other than weddings and parties in conference facilities, it's very quiet on most weekends. Larger-than-average 8th floor room had king bed, large flat-screen TV, and two very big windows with lovely views. Business center looked tiny and unattractive; would have felt crowded with two people, but never saw more than one using it.”

• Great front desk. Very nice room. It was very quiet as well. They also had very good bar specials and free newspapers. The bathrooms were well furnish.
• The business center was fair.

• Beautiful lobby & lounge, quiet, clean, easily accessible from main roads, very nice flat screen TVs.
• Room size was small, bathroom too small, no refrigerator, double beds too small, limited parking, garage parking too far away.

“Hotel had lovely grounds, entrance, lobby, dining facilities. Rooms were less impressive, low square footage, small sink which was located directly at the entry door, very inappropriate. Limited closet space. Asked for a king bed and pull-out sofa, and claimed at check-in they could not meet that request, on a prior phone call they said they could. Refrigerator is always a plus, these rooms did not come with that. Once the small parking lot outside the entrance was full, you were directed to a garage which was a ten minute walk from the hotel, unacceptable.”

• Lovely indoor and outdoor spaces, free guest laundry!
• Staff was too rigid re rules regarding kids: threw us out of exercise room although no one was there. First time that ever happened and very annoying.

• Excellent service, made photocopies for me, brought toiletries to the room quickly.
• Parking lot filled up and had to park in the garage which was quite far from the room, slow internet extra charge $10/day.

“The staff was very courteous and helpful. Also, the hotel is in a great location, not far from the Dunn Loring Metro stop so you can ride the train into DC easily and for only a few dollars. However the cleanliness of the room did not meet my expectations, and I would probably not stay here again.”

• No internet access, garage quite a hike from hotel lobbies.

“A very nice hotel. Even though seemingly crowded with weekend visitors my room was always quiet. I didn't care for the 5 minute hike to the parking garage, but parking is free and I was able to burn off the calories I consumed at the hotel's extensive breakfast buffet. I'd stay here again.”

• Hotel is under construction; plan on walking through mud to get to common areas.

“This hotel should not be offered as a three-star. It is under construction. There is mud and debris everywhere. They are offering their facilities to tour buses of high school children, so it is crowded and noisy. I think the staff is feeling the strain as well, since they have forgotten all about courtesy and service.”

• The decor was great.
• I didn't want to pay for internet access, the business center was closed due to construction, and wait staff @ restaurant was slow, inattentive, food good.

“I wish all hotels were as nice as this one. For a three star upscale hotel, I thought this was exceptional. Although the restaurant left something to be desired, the rest of my experience was fantastic. I really felt pampered and safe and really treated well at the hotel and would definitely go back. As a business traveler, I would like to stay there again!”

• Under construction. Poor restaurant. Parking garage 100 yards from the hotel in snowy weather.

“The hotel is undergoing renovations, but the room itself was clean and pleasant. Service in the only restaurant open (the coffee shop) was abysmal. I waited 40 minutes for a bowl of pasta that arrived lukewarm. The free parking garage is located a long way from the hotel lobby and required hauling luggage up and down stairs outdoors in snowy, icy weather.”

• The room was nice. The parking ample and free. The in-room coffee was tasty.
• Was kind of far from Tyson's corner. No wifi ($10 Ethernet only).

“A perfectly fine hotel, though a little offs the main drag, this Marriott served its function. Though it was not as close to Tyson's as I'd hoped, it did provide easy access to 495 (it ended up being a 20 minute commute - not horrible). Also Bubba's barbecue was right around the corner, and is awesome! No wifi in the room meant I could not work from the bed, which is my preferred method believe it or not. I'm going to have to start bringing a 20' cable and a coupler with me to these hotels.”

• Beautiful setting with easy access back & forth to highways.
• Seemed to be poorly managed. I was on a sold-out floor; my companion was on an empty floor.

“The hotel itself is a very nice property, obviously catering almost exclusively to business travelers. It is well appointed, despite the somewhat embarrassing and antiquated . This hotel was undergoing some light renovations, but were hardly noticeable. Restaurant, for some reason, had gravy without biscuits, but was otherwise a standard Marriott buffet. Most annoying was that the hotel placed people so close to one another despite having loads of empty rooms. Far too few people get a good night's sleep when this is the case. Parking is free, but limited out front, and the garage is not exactly nearby. You'll want to pull the car around, as it's a long cold walk in winter.”

“For a 3-star hotel, this hotel does lack some basics. They are currently under construction which led the parking to be limited. I had to park in the garage which entailed walking around the building courtyard with basically no lighting. It is not a good set up for a single woman especially knowing there was an assailant in the area who had attacked someone in the same town the night prior. They could at least have a security guard and more lights. As far as my room, it had an odor of mold. I think for an upscale hotel that they should look into a better filtration system so that their guests do not need to be exposed to this noxious odor.”

• The lobby and public areas were very attractive and functional.
• The food in the restaurant was sub-par and was only a buffet.

“In general the hotel rooms are very comfortable and as expected, however the menu, selection and quality of the food was marginal. They are in the process of changing their menu according to signs, so this may be only a transition issue.”

• Comfortable beds and spacious rooms.
• Servers/bartenders couldn't care less about service; probably because there's no place else to go.

“Beautiful entranceway and common rooms, tucked in a parkland setting near the Capital Beltway. Guest rooms are spacious and well maintained. Bedding is comfortable. Parking is difficult; garage is confusing and leaves you a long way from the guest room elevators. Forget the bar/restaurant. Staffs are way too self-absorbed and have probably never heard of "customer service". There are no alternatives within walking distance.”

• I liked the large, flat screen TV, the comfortable bed, the late check out option and the cleanliness.
• The food at the hotel bar/restaurant.

“In all I feel this was a great value! The room was comfortable and clean. The only thing was that it was a little bit hard to find because it is sort of hidden. On the other hand it was very quiet and peaceful, there no traffic noise etc.”

• Perfectly maintained, fresh, clean, luxurious bedding, Professional, friendly staff. Great breakfast restaurant. Convenient location and parking.
• Extra fees for wireless and charges for using business office computer. Great property in everyway.

“All praise for this Marriott property. This is a wonderful example of hospitality with professional friendly staff and wonderful accommodations. Recently renovated, all areas of the hotel are fresh, clean, sophisticated and modern. All non-smoking, the rooms are fresh, bright and clean and beautifully furnished with dark woods, granite computer desks, deep rich colored fabrics and wide flat screen TVs in every room. The luxurious soft beds and fine bed linens are a dream. Nice spa amenities are provided in bath. Exercise and pool areas are good. Convenience store offers coffee, bagels - fresh fruit, ice cream, snacks and sundries. Convenient free garage parking is on site. Many excellent restaurants of all types are nearby - within 1 mile, but you'll need a car to get to them because of the highways. Also nearby: Fairfax Hospital, Tysons Malls, movie theater, Merrifield, Dulles access, Wolf Trap Park. Free shuttle service to nearby Metro Dunn Loring station and shopping mall makes getting to DC business or sightseeing destinations and Tysons premier shopping areas easy! Conveniently located off Beltway in Fairview business park. Lovely landscaped business area makes for an attractive early morning outdoor jog. One negative, extra fee is charged for wireless access or for using computer/business office. This is one of my favorite Marriotts and one we'll return to again.”

• Deluxe room was not deluxe, just regular with no extra space.

“It ended up being a beautiful room. The description was quite misleading in that it stated it was a deluxe room with an additional 300 ft of living space. There was no additional living space besides a regular hotel room with two double beds. We had two children with us and need extra space. Disappointed in the description, but my disgruntled feelings were subsided by the plush accommodations.”

• Food in restaurant was average to below, internet access $10 per day (free elsewhere) in room and extremely overpriced in the business center.

“Beautiful hotel. The food in their main restaurant was disappointing and expensive - not what I would expect from a full-service Marriott. The hotel location is a bit isolated, but not too far from falls church downtown and Mclean/Tysons corner. Although most hotels don't charge for internet access this hotel charges around $10 per day. And you can't buy just one day without the hassle of calling the front desk, and then they still charged me for my entire stay anyway. Most hotels have free business centers, but theirs was outrageously expensive - which explains why it was empty while I was there. Overall this is a very nice hotel and I would stay here again.”

• Inconvenient if you don't have a car.

“The Marriott Fairview Park was clean and very upscale. It is in a business park (or near one) and if you don't want to eat at the hotel's restaurants there is an Italian restaurant and a Chinese place in the foot court of the business park where you can eat dinner easily for around $6.00. There is a free shuttle from the metro to the hotel, though it doesn't run past 8:30 p.m. The time from the hotel to downtown DC was only about 30 minutes. The subway seemed to run every 5 minutes or so. When I first got there and called the hotel the clerk told me the wrong place to wait for the shuttle, so I did have to wait a bit.”
