- All the amenities it offered (pool, restaurant)! Clean, spacious and very comfortable rooms combined with an excellent staff.
- This hotel was outstanding!! I didn't have any dislikes!
“This hotel far exceeded my expectations! It felt as though I was in a five star hotel and the courteous staff strongly supported that feeling with their outstanding professionalism. The amenities were outstanding! Comfortable, spacious rooms, an excellent outdoor pool with a Jacuzzi, volleyball court and a five star restaurant and bar provided something for the entire family.”

- Clean, shower didn't stick to bather, suite, pillows, pillows, pillows.
- Nothing.
“The Doubletree Hotel-Richmond Airport was lovely. People were friendly. The room was a suite and very clean. I loved the shower curtain on a rod that curved away from the shower so the curtain didn't cling to whomever was showering. The king sized bed had pillows galore!!!.. It made a nice getaway for my husband and me.”

- Pillows and bed were unbelievably soft as marshmallows, warm cookies at check in.
- Water in shower did not go down and engineer did not respond so we took two showers with water in the tub, AWFUL, low fat yogurt had aspertane sweetener.
“This hotel had a warm and professional atmosphere and great staff from the check in people, the people I called to arrange for two beds and the ground floor, to the mom and son team in the restaurant serving us for breakfast. Although it was at an airport, Richmond airport must be the quietest airport in the country. I have stayed here before happily so it was unusual and disappointing to have the problem with the shower water stuck in the bottom of the tub.”

“This hotel even though it has been renovated is still average and run down for a Hilton property. The staff was mildly friendly, however the customer service was lacking. I had a smoking room when I requested non. I had to call with cell phone twice because my keys did not work. The business center computer printer did not work. It was not an enjoyable stay.”

- Air conditioner heating system sounded like a jet engine in room 517.
“The room was very nice until it was time to sleep. Then the poor sound proofing was obvious as we were able to listen in on the telephone conversatin of our neighbors without trying and when the air system came on at 3.30 am it was as if one of the jets from RIC had flown into our room. It came on again at 5.30 am and woke us a 2nd time. Traveling with two young children this is a big problem as the next day without any of us having gotten a good nights sleep proved to be a bad day in the city. It recked the day and into that evening, grouchy kids, grouchy parents do not make for a fun time. They need to do better at making sure the rooms meet a certain decibel level with the air system functioning.”

- The room was a suite with a king size bed and fold out couch
- The couch/bed was not very comfortable.
“Generally, our experience was good. The room was a suite that included a king size bed and a sitting room with a couch that opened into a bed. However, the room was a little dingy; and the sitting room had no space for walking when the couch was opened. The couch bed was not that comfortable. The room they gave us seemed to be the left over wheelchair accessible room, so the layout of the bathroom was rather odd. It had a large shower stall with a ramp for wheelchairs.”

- Open shampoo bottle in bathroom.
“I really liked this hotel overall. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was on the smaller side. The rooms were spacious and very nice, however, there was water left in the water bucket and an opened bottle of shampoo on the bathroom countertop. The hotel's location was very convenient to the airport and ok getting off the highway. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.”

- Friendly staff, the best hotel bed I've even slept in, the cookie and water were a nice touch
- Handicapped bathroom - shower water overflowed on the floor - hairdryer was terrible
“This was our first time at a Doubletree and we will certainly try it again. I also loved the bar area just to sit and relax before our flight. If the shower hadn't flooded and the hair dryer were easier to use and more powerful, it would have been perfect. However, this would not stop us from visiting the Doubletree in the future.”

“This was the worst experience ever. The hotel lobby was 85 degrees and the room had no air conditioning. we had to move to another room at 1 am and that room had the air on full blast with the controlls blocked by the entertainment unit. This hotel was 1 star at best. The staff could care less.”

- i was unable to order a movie in my room as my television would not accept my order. otherwise, it was perfect.
“The hotel was conveniently located, it was very nice, wonderful room. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that my TV would not allow me to order a movie. I called the front desk, and they said I could move rooms, but I declined as it was too late. Nonetheless, i had a wonderful experience.”

- Despite proximity of airport, sound control was excellent.
- 3 Star hotels should keep mold out of bathrooms and should clean floors. Doubletree did not.
“Overall our experience at the Richmond Airport Doubletree Hotel was acceptable for perhaps a 1- star hotel, unlike the young man checking out with us Sunday morning. However, cleanliness is important to me and hotel bathrooms are typically an indicator of the quality of the cleaning staff and of the long term investment a company puts into its captial holdings. Our bathroom lacked the attention that bleached-based cleaners used in tub-areas easily provide to preclude mildew. Also,it was apparent that the floor, with gross spots around the toilet, had not been wet-mopped since at least the previous occupant. I would not recommend this hotel at this rating.”

- Quality of the room for the price.
- Too busy and loud on our floor.
“The location of the hotel, actually on the airport grounds, was not a problem. In fact, I only saw one airplane during our stay. We stayed on the 5th floor and there was a VERY loud party going on in the Presidential Suite. After getting in our rooms however, we only heard a few people talking loud in the hallway and several times a door was slammed very loudly - but it did not disturb us. The room was clean and the bed is supplied with many oversized pillows that my wife enjoyed. The night before, we stayed at a Radisson and the lumps of foam they called pillows at the Radisson were very hard to sleep on.”

- Staff was friendly. Best location near RIC Airport.
- One lamp was missing a lampshade. Another lamp was missing a bulb.
“Good location near the airport. Staff was friendly. Building was being renovated, so there were some rough spots. One room lamp was missing its shade, another was missing the bulb. Staff said wireless network was only working in the lobby, but I got it to work on 4th floor (it was a weak signal though). Overall, it was an acceptable hotel.”

- bed was comfortable
- hotel under renovation. Definitely not a 3-4 star hotel.
“I had stayed here before when it was a Hilton. Seems to have gone downhill. In fairness, it was being renovated but the door was very difficult and noisy to open-actually a good thing in case of a burglar. Shower was not hot the first day. Staff was fine.”

- Very cozy and quiet
- vending machines didn't work properly
“Beautiful hotel. A wedding reception was being held at the hotel; yet, the guests were not inconvenienced. Extremely helpful staff. I had a wonderful stay.”

- I like the setup of the hotel
- They overcharged then they told me they didn't then they reimbursed me without a phone call to apologize. They gave me a headache.
“Overall the hotel was nice I just didn't like the management team. They gave me the run around about refunding me a portion of my money that they shouldnt have taken in the first place.”

- The room was nicely decorated and the staff was friendly.
- My room access card was not set for my entire stay. I was locked out of my room for about 10 minutes.
“This hotel was very nice. I was pleasantly surprised that the room was a suite. The decor is very tasteful and the service impecable. The staff was very friendly at the desk and in the resturant. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. There were minor repairs needed to the room. The water guage in the shower was on upside down and there was a crack in the mirror frame.”
