• The distance from the airport is excellent.
• It appeared like it's located in the not so nice side of town, landscaping if any was non-descript.

• Excellent Beds, very clean and large bathroom, would stay there again.

“The Desk clerk
was very amicable and expeditious when we checked in and we loved the cookies. We had a very clean room of adequate size for my sister and I. At checkout, the Clerk just looked up my on line arrangements and said everything was taken care of and we left. There was no additional paperwork, it was a breeze. I only wish I had remembered to pack my bathing suit. There's always the next time, since our sister lives just a short way up Charles City Rd. and we come up from Greensboro several times a year to visit. This trip was most special as we were there to visit with our nephew who had just returned from 15 mos. So thank you very much for a very nice stay in VA.”

• Welcome cookies; large comfortable room.
• Slow, inconvenient elevator.

“Richmond is our home town and we visit family several times a year. The double tree rich airport is the closest hotel to rich and also feels the safest and friendliest in this otherwise depressed neighborhood. The staff are responsive and efficient -- not the norm for the area. Rooms are unusually large and spacious. Furnishings are fresh and 3* appropriate. Proximity to freeways makes the location convenient for access to the city and near-suburbs. But there are no other services within a half mile of the hotel, so a guest without a car is limited to the hotel restaurant.”

• The beds were extremely comfortable, wifi available and very clean.
• The number of Restaurants near by was limited.

“The Doubletree is almost always a very nice motel. This one was very nice we stayed for one night for a softball tournament and the most important thing is clean rooms and comfortable beds and we found both here. I would stay here anytime the staff was friendly and helpful.”

• Location, friendly staff.
• We got a handicap accessible room which we did not need. The bedding smelled mildew.

“Everything but the room was great. The bedding was not clean and mildew. It would be nice (down comforter, soft pillows) if the feathers weren't smelly and sort of wet.”

• The bedding was clean and extremely comfortable.
• Room service should have more selections after 11 p.m.

“This place was wonderful. The room was spacious, with a sitting area and separate sleeping area. The bed was far enough away from the door that you weren't bothered by hallway noise or too much light for the hallways. The bedding, with clean, fresh sheets and many soft pillows, was so comfortable that we found it hard to leave it. We would've stayed another night, but our travel schedule didn't allow it. If you want comfort, privacy and great room perks (including a great selection of cable channels), this is the place to stay. The cookies that they give you when you check-in is just the tasty beginning of a wonderful stay.”

• All the amenities it offered (pool, restaurant)! Clean, spacious and very comfortable rooms combined with an excellent staff.
• This hotel was outstanding!! I didn't have any dislikes!

“This hotel far exceeded my expectations! It felt as though I was in a five star hotel and the courteous staff strongly supported that feeling with their outstanding professionalism. The amenities were outstanding! Comfortable, spacious rooms, an excellent outdoor pool with a Jacuzzi, volleyball court and a five star restaurant and bar provided something for the entire family.”

“The Doubletree Hotel-Richmond Airport was lovely. People were friendly. The room was a suite and very clean. I loved the shower curtain on a rod that curved away from the shower so the curtain didn't cling to whomever was showering. The king sized bed had pillows galore!!!.. It made a nice getaway for my husband and me.”

• Pillows and bed were unbelievably soft as marshmallows, warm cookies at check in.
• Water in shower did not go down and engineer did not respond so we took two showers with water in the tub, AWFUL, low fat yogurt had aspertane sweetener.

“This hotel had a warm and professional atmosphere and great staff from the check in people, the people I called to arrange for two beds and the ground floor, to the mom and son team in the restaurant serving us for breakfast. Although it was at an airport, Richmond airport must be the quietest airport in the country. I have stayed here before happily so it was unusual and disappointing to have the problem with the shower water stuck in the bottom of the tub.”

• The room is big size comparing to others which I liked; also the newspaper service is good feeling to me.
• The shower is not strong enough; The air condition seems to loud and not enough power either.

“A perfectly nice place to stay in Richmond. All the good restaurants in Richmond are at least 5-10 miles away, so unless you need a real restaurant, you might as well eat here where the food is totally adequate for hotel food unlike the neighboring hotels.”

“This hotel even though it has been renovated is still average and run down for a Hilton property. The staff was mildly friendly, however the customer service was lacking. I had a smoking room when I requested non. I had to call with cell phone twice because my keys did not work. The business center computer printer did not work. It was not an enjoyable stay.”

• Air conditioner heating system sounded like a jet engine in room 517.

“The room was very nice until it was time to sleep. Then the poor sound proofing was obvious as we were able to listen in on the telephone conversatin of our neighbors without trying and when the air system came on at 3.30 am it was as if one of the jets from RIC had flown into our room. It came on again at 5.30 am and woke us a 2nd time. Traveling with two young children this is a big problem as the next day without any of us having gotten a good nights sleep proved to be a bad day in the city. It recked the day and into that evening, grouchy kids, grouchy parents do not make for a fun time. They need to do better at making sure the rooms meet a certain decibel level with the air system functioning.”
