  • Express checkout.
  • I was stuck in a smoking without my knowledge and it was an awful experience.

“The clerk at the desk should have asked whether I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room or informed me it was a smoking room prior to me discovering it. The room did not have a room service menu in it and when calling down to the front desk, I was told it would be brought up to me. It took a second call 20 minutes later to find out if the menu was coming up. The front desk clerk said she forgot what room I was in when I called. The next night I wanted to order from room service and the menu was taken out of the room by housekeeping. The room reeked of smoke, the wallpaper was bubbling up from the walls and several things in the room were stained from past smokers. Would I stay at this hotel again. Never!”

  • Staff was very friendly and willing to help, they remembered who you were and what room you were in.
  • Poor communication on events in the hotel to pool usage.

“Staff was very friendly, quick to respond to requests and extra items to your room. pool area clean with plenty of towels on hand. the cleaning of the rooms was fair. be sure to ask if there are any planned activities that will keep you from using the pool/exercise area a they do not offer the info. [most hotels won't].”

  • No refrigerator, no microwave, terrible TV cable selection.

“Staff were fine. The cable viewing choices were moronic. Further, the TV did not even tell you what channel you were watching. My room could not have been farther from the elevator. Incandescent bulbs in lamps. Even Best Value & Econolodge have the new energy saving bulbs. Very telling of management, either ignorance or ego.”

  • The rooms were nicer than some on the Strip in Vegas!
  • Could have had more cable channels. No Food Network.

“I got a big, pretty bed with lots of fluffy pillows, a nice spacious room with granite bath and all the extras (coffee maker, hair dryer, alarm clock, Wi-Fi available). The restaurant served up the tastiest burger I've had in years (all black Angus) and a delightful crab cake stuffed in a Portobello mushroom. The staff were super friendly. And although this was all just a few miles from the airport, I only heard one plane the whole stay. I really liked this place! Would certainly go back next time I'm in Richmond.”

  • Convenient location to airport/event.
  • Old, needs to be remodeled, old.

“Hotel was basically in need of some major remodeling. The bed, linens, furniture, carpets, walls, wallpaper, etc. Were worn and old. The TV was ancient. Maybe this was a 3 star 15 years ago. But now it can't compete with others in the area. The doubletree at 2.5 stars (which we stayed at last year) was a much nicer, cleaner, modern hotel for the money.”

  • Smelled, not maintained well, ghetto surroundings.

“I wanted to leave as soon as I drove into the parking lot and looked at the surrounding neighborhood and the experience just went downhill from there. As soon as I walked into the lobby, it smelled of fried food and the clerk was dressed in jeans and not very pleasant. The facility was in a state of disrepair all over.”

  • Some of the staff was not super friendly. They weren't rude, just not abundantly friendly.

  • Shuttle service to/from airport was very convenient; front desk staff friendly.
  • Telephoned hotel in advance requesting a non-smoking room. It was not available upon arrival. Front desk clerk gave us breakfast coupons instead.

“The hotel had the showings of a 3-star but it is not being properly maintained - it was dirty. Breakfast was very disappointing. Breakfast area was dirty, including dishes. It was disappointing not to get a non-smoking room even though I reserved on early in advance. I did like the convenience of the shuttle service from airport.”

  • No stopper in tub, broken room door handle, false alarm at 10:45 pm, a bit run down.

“This hotel is a short 5 minute drive from the airport and it has an interesting atrium with indoor pool. However, it is a bit run down. Good for a price conscious business traveler, but not much else.”

  • The pool area is especially nice for children/ with a nice hot tub.
  • Liked everything- no complaints.

  • Marlon at the front desk was terrific.
  • Some peeling wallpaper in bathroom.

“Due to weather issues, we got in very late (2:30 am). Person at the front desk upgraded us to a two bedroom suite and although the hotel shuttle driver was off, they paid for our cab ride to the hotel. The staff was great and the room was very comfortable.”

  • Quality of hotel. Definitely not a 3 star hotel.

“The hotel is conveniently located by Richmond Airport. However that is the only thing good about this hotel. It is somewhat run down and in need of a renovation. Wallpaper was coming off of the walls, bathroom fixtures needed replacement, it just had a very cheap feel. Furthermore, wireless access was not free which is becoming the standard at most hotels.”

“The hotel was nice enough as was the staff. The first room that we checked into was on ground level and had a broken window frame - would have made it very easy from someone to enter from the outside. The desk clerk gave us two complimentary breakfast buffet certificates for our trouble (I told her we wouldn't be able to use them because we'd have to leave for the airport before they began serving breakfast, but nothing else was offered). The telephone in the second room that we checked into did not work.”

“This was the most deplorable hotel I have stayed at in a long time and I stay in hotels almost every week, terrible staff, totally old and dirty facility. I cannot say enough bad things about this experience and think that all my money should be refunded. It makes me angry thinking about how much I paid and that it was billed as a luxury hotel that was really more like a motel six. Red roof is nicer. ”

  • The hotel was beautiful. Our room was one of the nicest Iżve ever had.
  • They would not reserve a non-smoking, king size room ahead of time when I called. I was told it was first come/first served.

“It is a lovely hotel with fire places in the common rooms. Staff is helpful. Our room was on the 7th floor with a great view. The room was huge - king sized bed with a very comfortable mattress, desk and chair, dresser, round table and 2 comfy chairs where one could sit and look out the huge window at the view and sip a glass of wine. The windows are private - one can't see into other rooms. The bathroom was very nice. I was absolutely delighted with the room. It was by far the best hotel room we had in the past 3 years' worth of vacations.”

  • Frequently had to wait for someone to appear at the front desk or wait because only 1 person was very overworked.

“Friendly staff especially sandy and Sarah but front desk was understaffed. Returned to room at 2pm to find room not yet cleaned and later learned it had been marked "clean" in the system and would not have been cleaned had I not complained. ”

“This is not a 3-star hotel. I think this should be dropped to a 2-star. Then it would meet expectation. Basic hotel with decent beds close to the airport. You have to pay for internet service which in most 3-star hotels (Hilton) is included. Should be complimentary. Bit disappointing overall compared to my above expectations.”

  • Room was low quality. Carpet looked filthy. Needs major makeover to get anywhere close to 3 stars.

“This property is on the decline. Rooms are drab and need major updating. Carpet was filthy. Lobby and open areas are ok, but look like they are out of the 70s or 80s.no way this should be a 3 star. Rooms are not even close to that quality.”

  • Lots of noise made it hard to sleep.

“Dreary hotel with unfriendly hotel staff. Older construction, it was not equal to other Wyndham hotels at which I have stayed (which have generally been very good). The pool area was awful. The rooms were large but also dreary. Overall, not a nice place to spend the night.”

  • Proximity to Richmond airport. Able to leave car and use shuttle upon return to Richmond.
  • Needs maintenance. Phone, sink, toilet flush broken.

“The proximity to the airport was nice, as was the ability to leave my car for the duration of the trip in the Wyndham parking lot and have the hotel shuttle drop me off and pick me up. I was very happy with the desk staff, but the general maintenance of the hotel was underwhelming (phone cord broken, bathtub dripped, toilet flush handle loose and needed to be jiggled).”

  • The kids could swim at the indoor pool while we had a drink in the lounge.
  • Nothing.

“The room was nicely decorated and was very clean. The hotel was convenient to the airport but was quiet. We enjoyed the lounge and the indoor pool. We would definitely stay here again.”
