• This hotel is very clean and accessible to a huge shopping mall.
• Housekeeping forgot to clean our room and replenish towels one day.

• The cleanliness of the hotel.
• I didn't like the idea of them leaving us in harms way. We could've been evacuated before the police sprayed the teargas.

• Friendliness of staff, location and amenities.
• Nothing.

“The hotel is ideally situated for the business traveler, but is also convenient for the leisure traveler as it is adjoining one of the finest shopping malls in the DC area. Access to the freeway system is almost effortless. Every hotel employee that I encountered was friendly and helpful and always offered a pleasant greeting. I won't stay anywhere else when I travel to the Washington DC area again.”

• Located across mall. Staff was very accommodating to correct problems.

“Great, clean hotel. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and helped tremendously with our visit to Washington DC. Had a few problems with our breakfast in the hotel restaurant, however, the management was very accommodating and corrected the problems very quickly and professionally. Good location with mall located directly across of hotel.”

• Quiet, clean and
  upscale.
• There is nothing that I disliked about the hotel.

“This hotel is next door to the Fair Oaks mall. The hotel is clean and upscale. There were several restaurants inside and nearby, as well as a Starbucks inside the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful.”

• The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.
• There was a prom or something going on and it seemed like teenage kids were very loud in the hallways way past midnight. Difficult to sleep.

“I had no problem with the hotel or the staff. Teenagers occupying some of the rooms on my floor were loud and disruptive. Couldn't sleep.”

• Quiet.
• Dirty
  band aid
  on fire detector for 2 days even when staff made aware.

“Not bad, but no more than 2.5 stars and overrated for the money. Paid extra for use of laptop, but billed as a travelers hotel and a business center. Dirty band aid on fire detector for 2 days required 2 complaints and security assist to get it removed. It was quiet and generally clean but rugs were a bit worn or dirty. Staff was pleasant and location was convenient.”

• The night manager was very friendly and helpful. We had an issue at the pool & she was prompt in helping resolve.
• Sometimes it was difficult to understand staff's accent.

“The hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again and also would recommend it to others. My only complaint was that almost every time we went to the elevator, there was usually an unpleasant odor in that area.”

• Fantastic service and 32" LCD HD TV. Gotta like that!
• You have to pay $10 per day for internet and no free breakfast.

“Famed Marriott service is alive and well at this hotel. You'll never meet a staff person in the hallway without them engaging you in some conversation. This hotel definitely gets service. I would definitely stay here again!”

• I liked the professionalism of most of the employees.
• No acess to a microwave or refrigerator and the desk staff not accommodating.

“The hotel has style, the location was great and it was adjacent to a shopping mall. What I disliked is the fact that it was not overbooked and when I asked about changing my room, which looked out over a parking deck and into a large office building I was given a song and dance and never got the room changed. It would be nice if people are listened to before being dismissed. The color of my money is green as well and I will let it go at that.”

• It was a wonderful experience, nothing bad to say.

• The lobby level was beautiful and the people always greeted us.
• Parking spaces are only 6' wide hard to get in and out of vehicle when lot was busy.

• We loved the location near the Metro (3 miles) and an upscale mall.
• No shuttle to Metro, no refrigerator in room, moderate highway noise.

“The Fairfax Marriott was just what we needed. Close to the Metro to get into DC as a family, upscale mall nearby for food in the evening, a clean and appealing atmosphere. Staff was friendly and available. The same accommodations in DC had a much higher price tag + parking!”

• Outlet in bathroom did to work. Noisy in lobby area which travel up through balcony.

“Overall it was a good value. Our room had a balcony over the lobby, people were up late and the noise carried up to our room. If I stayed here again I would request a room on the other side.”

• Great staff. Very attentive to any thing you may have needed.
• No alarm clock in room. Kids running up and down halls at night.

“Overall the staff was friendly and first rate. The rooms were nice, bed was great and spotless. The location is next to a mall so if you check in late your only option for dinner was the hotel restaurant. The food was good but way over priced.”

“A large hotel with nice rooms that's managed quite nicely by all appearances. No free internet, TV was difficult to navigate, hard to find a TV guide, and the online TV services ran very slowly. Was a fine place for a quick overnight, though if I was there for an extended stay the connectivity costs and TV navigation would have prove frustrating.”

“Very impressive hotel, but very very expensive food. Fifteen dollars a person for breakfast. I paid for a room that was going to give me and my wife a free breakfast. The hotel notified me afterwards that the breakfast was not free.”

• The hotel was lovely and very clean.
• There was a $10.00 fee for internet usage.

“The hotel is located at fair oaks mall in Fairfax, VA. It did not have that typical "hotel smell," which is good. The hallways were clean and well-lit. The room was lovely. We have stayed there twice and would be happy to stay there again.”

• The front desk person was so rude, he treated me and my sons 2nd class citizens. Very insulted!

• No ventilation system in the bathroom causing the mirror to fog when showing.

“This hotel is conveniently located to malls and other businesses. The staff is pleasant and services offered are on par with what is expected. The pool, hot tub, gym area are clean and appreciated. Parking is more than adequate. Food service in the hotel is good, even if typically a bit pricey. The only lacking feature in the room is a ventilation system in the bathroom causing the mirror to fog when showering. The addition of a small refrigerator near the coffee station/counter would be appreciated.”
