• The interior was pleasant and inviting. Business café and calm sense in room.
• Some mold/mildew in shower tiles, surrounding area was an office park - not very scenic.

• Beautiful lobby/courtyard.
• Not traveler friendly with no access to microwave to heat anything including popcorn.

“Not having access to a microwave was inconvenient. The food was horrible. No continental breakfast even offered. Though good for security, getting to your floor was an inconvenience. If 6 people got on going to 6 floors, everyone, had to put their card in order to stop on your floor. One time I went up and down twice before I managed to get my card in time to get off on my floor! Though the hotel lobby/courtyard was grand, the rooms were poorly appointed and small. The TV was inconveniently located as you couldn't lay in bed and watch it.”

“Peaceful surroundings and grounds-great to relax. Great beds but some furniture seems old-chipped and scratched. Could use new TV sets. Expensive restaurant with no other within walking. One is stuck without a car. Do have a shuttle to the airport.”

• The beautiful gardens and flowers outside of the Hotel. It made one feel welcome.
• Bell hops were a little too helpful.

• Excellent hardware, roomy.
• Service - waited a night and half a morning for a toothbrush.

“Pro: it's a beautiful hotel. Rooms are big, like suites. Extremely comfortable beds. Living space has a pull out sofa, and a desk. Can easily accommodate a family of 4-5. Bath room is nice. Con: 1) hard to get to. We took a couple of circles around the airport before we found our way; 2) service: I asked for a toothbrush the night we checked in, and I was promised someone was going to bring it up. No one shows up. Called the next morning again. Same thing. Called the third time, really lost patience. Toothbrush came in 10 minutes.”

• The staff made me feel like I was important to them, not a burden.
• It is hard to find, need better markings at major turning points.

“I had a wonderful time during my stay. The staff was extremely helpful and smiled when they provided service. I didn't feel like I was bothering them when I had a question, and they used my name. It made me feel important to them. I will stay there again It is my prefered choice. Thanks”

• It was close to where we had to be.
• The room was noisy.

“This hotel is used by airlines at Dulles Airport, so two nights out of three that we stayed there the hotel moved families who missed planes into the room next door, in both cases with young kids, so at one in the morning (the left before six, the next morning both times), we had to endure kids screaming and dads (in one case), singing to his screaming kids in the tub neither night did we get a good nights sleep. Finally we had them move us to a room that could not have someone next to them very bad time, this time!”

“The tub dripped, the sink would not drain, and there was no dust ruffle on the bed so the nasty (ripped/torn) box spring showed as well as the bent up bed frame. The heater did not heat the room well either. Also, for a hotel to be 3 star to me, I would like free internet and small fridge in the room. I was disappointed in the Hyatt. The public areas are very nice. Location great but I would not recommend the hotel be 3 stars.”

• Food and Beverage priced way too high, $9.99 Internet fee.

“This Hyatt has great rooms and a great location. Food and drinks are great though way over priced. $13+tax for a cheeseburger and fries. $5 for a 14oz draft. The $9.99 internet fee is ridiculous. I would expect to see flat screen TV's with HDTV in the rooms.”

• The gym was open 24 hours per day.
• The lobby area was too dark.

“Good shuttle service from the airport and nice rooms. Nice 24 hour fitness center. The lobby bar has a nice fish pond. It is not right at the airport and I found it a bit complicated to find driving.”

• Common areas and customer service were excellent.
• Noise from hallway and connecting door to room next door easily heard inside room.

“Excellent hotel near Dulles Airport with easy access to Loudon County and Leesburg, VA. Excellent hotel, but voices from hallway and adjacent room via connecting door were easily heard. Nicely decorated room and friendly, concerned staff, but privacy in room was lacking due to ease of hearing all around or others hearing conversation and sounds from your room. Definitely not conducive to private romantic evenings.”

• Room was a good size.
• Charged for internet use. Surely, in 2007 internet use is as important as tap water, and both should be included in the hotel rate.

“Good size room, but odd lay out. Comfortable beds. Large, attractive open atrium in lobby. Attractive but overpriced bar. Staff appeared helpful, but need instruction to actually listen. Some poor guy ahead of me at the desk had a problem with expedia and his bill. He stated his problem. And over and over again the staff gave the same unsatisfactory answer. Saying something over again multiple times does not help a person to "hear" the answer.”

“We were disappointed by the noise level of adjoining rooms (both sides, could hear moderate level discussions going on at late hours) but otherwise very nice. Another newspaper besides USA Today should be provided in order to get timely, real news. Staff very friendly and room service excellent.”

• Located less than four miles from Dulles airport, right on all major routes, but still out of the way.
• It is a little hard to find.

“Beautiful lobby, very nice rooms with everything a traveler needs good work out facilities and located beautifully for purposes of visiting the DC area. New management has done an excellent job of choosing their staff, and the staff could not be better.”

• The staff is some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. Beautiful room too!
• Smoking is allowed in the hotel public areas which you smell when you walk into the hotel, awful!

“The staff couldn't have been friendlier, helpful and courteous. I was traveling alone and they made me feel so safe and welcome. This is extremely important to me being a woman traveling alone. The room was comfortable and beautiful. I even enjoyed the view of the airport. The only drawback of the hotel is they allow smoking in the public areas (bar), which is right in the lobby area and the smoke is quite disturbing when you have to smell toxic smoke as you walk to the elevators. Also, if I wasn't traveling alone and wanted to spend time in the lovely lobby I couldn't because the smell of cigarette smoke makes me ill. Why would such an upscale hotel bring down their status by allowing smoking "anywhere" within the hotel? The only reason I give an "8" to the quality of this hotel instead of a 10 is because of the cigarette smoke issue. Please start a non smoking rule within the entire hotel and enforce it! I was on a non smoking floor and someone in the room next to me was smoking.”

• There is a very comfortable seating area in the room.
• Extra charges for everything. $5 bottled water and no free internet.

“This hotel is typical Hyatt fare. There is a very good looking lobby, but you have to walk around or through a large bar/seating area to access the front desk. The rooms are nicely appointed, but the bathroom sink is open to the room, so you can't wash your hands without waking your companion. The front desk staff is friendly and competent, but there are additional charges for everything from the internet connection to the water. Great for an expense account, perhaps, but not for travelers on a budget.”

• The open lobby/restaurant/bar combo was a bit noisy. This arrangement did not contain tobacco smoke.

“We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Dulles. The staff was able to update our king room to a 2 double bed (to accommodate the kids). The whirlpool, pool, and exercise room was top notch.”

• The rooms and lobby was clean.
• The front desk staff was not friendly and we almost didn't have a room.

“When we got to the hotel, the rooms where not ready, they told us to come back later. By the time we got back the lobby was full because something happen to a plane and they where giving out all the rooms out. By the time we got to speak to the front desk clerk. He treaded us very bad. We needed double beds and he wanted to give us a single with a sofa. We explain to him that the other clerk earlier was going to save a room for us and he said that they don't do that; they would never save a room for anyone. We ask to speak to a manager and in a nasty way he told us to move to the side and wait. 30 minutes later the manger came and tried to find us a room but all the double rooms were taken by the people from the plane. The funny thing is that a person came in and the same clerk that told us they don't save rooms, saved a room for them. I ask the manger about that and she said that they do hold rooms, that they should have done that for us, so I told her about what the clerk said and she was going to speak with him. I would never stay in this hotel again, not because of the building but because of the way the staff treaded us.”

• Outstanding layout of the room to fit my needs as a business traveler.
• The food offering from the restaurant was overpriced and disappointing. Also think internet should be no charge.
