• It has a Starbucks in the lobby.
• Restaurant under construction, few choices for food.

“The hotel is great. Staff was excellent. Even received person service at dinner, because the wife an I were the only ones eating there at the time. My only complaints are that the hotel was constructing its new restaurant and the condition of the small refrigerator that I rented (needs replacing, did not keep cool while on lowest setting). Though it did not have as many eating options as I would expect, I am sure that will be corrected with the new restaurant. This is one hotel I will be staying at again and again.”

• Beautiful bathroom, spacious room, nicely decorated.
• Paid $20 a day for parking, no breakfast, no microwave.

“This hotel is in a good location. You can take a quick drive out of the downtown area for dining and shopping. The staff here is helpful, and prompt. The room was spacious, immaculate, and tastefully decorated. The pool on the 3rd floor is great. There is no parking in the vicinity. You must pay an extra $20 a day for it. I also would have liked a continental breakfast.”

• Location is convenient to downtown.
• Small rooms, charge for everything, poor service.

“The staff was not friendly, and not helpful. The room was small, the bathroom not very nice. Internet was $10.00 per day (not what I expect at a 4 star hotel). Not conducive to work, i.e. no real desk spaces, outlets, etc. This is a 2 star hotel, not a 4 star hotel.”

• Parking added $21 to my bill.

“The hotel apparently does not have it's own parking. I could either park on the street and feed a meter or park under the hotel in a parking lot that they don't own (repeated to me 3 times by staff). To park from 8 pm on arrival to 8 am on departure cost me $21.”

“This hotel did not live up to my expectations as a 4+ star hotel/resort. Although the lobby looked nice, the rooms were smaller than I expected and not as welcoming as I would have liked.”

• The front desk clerk was wonderful.
• Room looked somewhat shabby.

“The hotel was very nice and quiet during our stay. All in all though, we were pleased. The room could have been cleaner, the coffeepot still had coffee in it from a previous guest. It made me leery about the cleanliness of the room. The front desk clerk was great. We weren't treated poorly in any manner. I could recommend this hotel.”

“Superbly situated 4.5-5 star hotel located not far from the State Capitol grounds in Downtown Richmond, very elegantly appointed surroundings, a quiet efficiency, rooms are not huge, but very comfortable. Think the noise that necessarily accompanies small children would be a distraction, although I did see several well-mannered little ones.”

• The staff is wonderful! Room was beautiful in the classic city hotel fashion.
• Walking at night outside the hotel is questionably safe.

“The staff is right there, but not overwhelmingly so, for everything that you request. Nothing is too much bother, everything is done with a smile. Bell captain, bellman, valet, shuttle driver, front desk staff, dining host are to be commended for their excellence in performance. The room was a clean, beautiful corner queen room with good workspace & hi speed wireless. One very minor change should be a better lounge chair in the room. This is an older hotel and has some gracious age spots but also has the feel of an old grand hotel. If you have an appreciation for gleaming brass, marble floors & superior service this is the place to go.”

• It's beautiful and the staff is so friendly.
• Some of the views aren't that great.

“This is our preferred hotel in Richmond. It's a beautiful hotel with a top-notch staff. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are quite large and lovely. It's location is perfectly situated to explore downtown. There are many wonderful restaurants and bars within walking distance. Terrific experience every time.”

• The people sent us to a room that wasn't ours and upgraded us to a club room, very nice!
• The people next door to us were very loud. And it took an hour for them to shut up.

“The lobby and starbucks that we saw were lovely. The curbside car service was very nice. The city was lovely and we were right in the center of everything.”

• Room was great, very comfortable bed, nice linens, towels, and bathrobes.
• Valet parking is a flat fee of $20.

“Very nice hotel, clean, great rate for a 4 star hotel. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, recommend Tobacco factory across the street. Governors Mansion and Capital building about 3-4 blocks up, very pretty. No Shopping in area. Do not valet park- $20 backside of hotel has a garage for $3-$10, also street parking may be available.”

• The room was spacious, and very clean!
• There was only one arm chair, but room for two.

“Parking was a but tricky, but only because we were trying to be stingy and not pay for Valet parking. The bellhops out front can direct you to the parking garage adjacent to the building. Our room did not have the greatest view, but everything else was ideal! The room was very clean, and there were plush robes hanging in the closet. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated, and the hotel staff was friendly. We enjoyed a nice steak dinner at The Tobacco Company, which is directly across the street from the hotel. Hotel staff was very helpful and courteous.”

• Poor Service - slightly used/ old feeling.

“I actually lived in Richmond for three years so was eager to go back and stay at the "Omni" which always had a great reputation. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed. The room was never made up despite us leaving at 9am and coming back at 4pm. Worse even, the hotel put us on the same floor as a fraternity group which equated to slamming doors until well past 2am.Must say that the manager the next morning was extremely apologetic, but all in all I would probably never stay here again. I hear the Crown Plaza right up the street is a much better option.”

• The rooms were very comfortable and nicely furnished good showers nice staff; nice pool; convenient to shops and restaurants.
• Lighting in bathroom was not bright enough; Starbucks was closed.

“The hotel was beautifully located overlooking the James River and was within walking distance to nearby shops and restaurants. The valet service was quick and staff was friendly. The rooms were beautifully furnished and the pool area was very peaceful and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling alone for business or with a family, even a romantic getaway!”

• The view from our room was breathtaking at night.
• Parking was a bit expensive.

“Check-in was a breeze. Again, the staff was pleasant and attentive. Before they realized that we were familiar with the city, they gave my boyfriend and I an overview of what the local attractions were. The room was beautiful. It was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also surprisingly roomy and our view was gorgeous. There were no shortage of towels and personal toilettries. The hotel offered in-room new release movies and Nintendo 64 games (an excellent idea if you're traveling with children). I must admit, parking was pricey. Valet parking was $19/day and self-parking was $21/day. Since there was no where to park outside of the hotel, we had to use the facilities. The hotel is relatively quiet with the exception of doors slamming and the cleaning staff knocking on doors and offering to clean rooms. My boyfriend had an incident with the staff in the hotel's gift shop. When asked where once can purchase a beverage (soft drink or bottle of water) he was met with blatant rudeness and annoyance. Other than the above mentioned critiques, our stay was a pleasant one. Check-out was as efficient as checking-in. We would definitely stay at the Omni Richmond Hotel again in the future.”

• The room was great.
• The pool area was disgusting. It looked like the floors had never been cleaned. There was hair, dirt, and leaves everywhere.

“Our overall stay was nice. It was a great location. Many restaurants and bars were within walking distance. I was very disappointed that there was not a hot tub and that the pool area was as dirty as it was. A hotel manager even walked through the area while we were in the pool and ignored the very obvious mess.”

• Cramped room; air vent blows on seating area; poor desk chair.

“Our room was unsatisfactory. The chair for watching TV was directly in front of the ac vent and could not be moved because the room was small. The comforter was far too heavy for the time of year. The bathroom had very inadequate shelf space. They should have a real desk chair - wheels, swivel, etc. To access the outlet for my computer I had to crawl under the desk.”

• We were able to upgrade our room due to a coupon we had, with no problem.
• Usage of the workout facility would be an additional fee.

“My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Omni. We were able to utilize a coupon we had for an upgrade, which entitled us to continental breakfast and other extras.”

• Can't think of a thing.

“My good experience with this hotel began with the valet parking. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and general professionalism shown by the valet immediately upon arriving. Front desk check-in was again very warm and professional in every way. Room was very clean, room-service was fast and delicious. Housekeeping service was perfect. Shower was devine, bed exceedingly comfortable. I got better directions from valet than Map Quest could provide. Overall wonderful stay- would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Richmond.”
