“Overall, I found this hotel to be excellent for my purposes. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling while on business or leisure. I do plan on staying there again on my next trip to Richmond.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Judy from Anderson, SC
“Would recommend it to anyone. The breakfast was not as good as I expected.” Apr 26, 2006 by

“My friends and I really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The valet parking for Richmond is very reasonable and the location was great! I would definitely stay there again, especially for the price.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 1, 2005 by
Sue from Carrboro, NC
“A very charming hotel, laid back, but yet in the heart of Richmond. I arrived late at night and felt safe as a woman traveling alone.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 7, 2005 by
Eileen from Orchard Park, NY
“I would stay at the hotel again. The room was very nice. The staff was slow but friendly. The elevators were slow and very small. I would rate the stay and 8.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 24, 2005 by

“located across from the Capitol and square and easy walking distance to the "slip" where there were many restaurants. Keep in mind that there are renovations being done to the capitol which will not be completed until 2007. Plenty of free on street parking on weekends.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 16, 2005 by

“I prefer this hotel, to any of the Marriott Hotels or suites, my wife has purchased. The rooms were very comfortable. The rooms were very spacious. The color and fabrics used to decorate the rooms make that warm and inviting.” Apr 20, 2005 by
Susan from Monterey, VA
“I was disappointed in this hotel. Although the staff was friendly enough, the room could have been cleaner and better kept. The room had only one good reading lamp and the bathroom was downright dark. Valet parking service left a lot to be desired, even though we were in a que, people who tipped first got their car before we did upon departure. Tiny elevators would send a claustrophobic into a near panic. The area was convenient but rolls up the sidewalks at night and on weekends.” Apr 19, 2005 by
Phil from Peoria, IL
“Quaint older hotel, has seen better days but there seemed to be some remodeling going on. Lack of on site food a real minus” Apr 19, 2005 by
Dejuan from Harrisburg, PA
“First when I came to check in, the woman behind the counter had a very bad attitude. She didn't tell me where anything was in the hotel, didn't direct me to where my room was. When I dragged all my bags upstairs, first my key to my room didn't work. Then she gave me new keys, and the keys was to somebody else's room. She charged me $10 to park my truck valet and when I came down stairs in the middle of the night, my truck was still sitting parked right in front of the hotel where I left it.” Apr 17, 2005 by
Rick from Houston, TX
“Spacious, clean rooms in this newly renovated hotel. Centrally located in Downtown Richmond directly across from the park-like setting of the capital building. Friendly service. Valet parking is your only option unless you want to spend time looking for a space on the street.” Dec 7, 2004 by
Thomas S. from North Clarendon “Though this is a suite hotel, our room was not. Who cares? It was still huge! Nicely appointed. Refrigerator was in the room. Very comfortable. For what we paid I expected nothing more than a "chain" hotel. What a delightful surprise. Valet parking is $9.75 a day with as many in and outs as needed. Super friendly staff.” Sep 12, 2004 by
Kathryn B. from Angier “The room was fine, but there was no desk area, which made working a little difficult.” Sep 8, 2004 by
Christianne R. from Nashville “I chose a three star hotel, When I arrived at the Commonwealth, the staff were not helpful and in fact assigned me to a room that was already occupied by another hotel guest. They were not apologetic until I spoke to the manager and then they changed my room to the one that I had requested. The hotel is barely 1 star on a good day.” Hotel Representatives:
