• At our request, they put us in a quiet room on New Year's Eve.
• The pool and hot tub were very cold!

“Right off the freeway, this hotel is conveniently located. Pros: the staff was friendly; room was nice and cleans with a great view. Cons: There is not much common space, and the pool/hot tub was very cold! The main restaurant was closed so we ended up at the Smokey bar restaurant downstairs where the service and food quality were lacking.”

• The hotel had indoor parking available, but street parking was also ample. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a relaxation CD to aid sleep.

• Nice pool, nice room.
• It cost me over $40 for a continental breakfast.

“This is the second time Ive stayed at this hotel, I would recommend it. But the parking cost $10 in addition to the room price. I believe that if you stay at their hotel you should not have to pay to park in their parking garage. Also the restaurant was very pricey $40 for 2 adult and 2 small children to eat a continental breakfast is crazy. We made the mistake of being in a hurry and not looking at the menu before eating. Next time I have to stay in Richmond I will probably stay at a different hotel just to see if the others are better.”

• Comfortable bed, nice linens, nice view from the large windows.
• Bathroom mold, toilet that wouldn't flush, poor heating system, limited TV options.

“Good location, convenient to Downtown food and shops, safe (next to police station). Comfortable bed and nice simple linens (not the usual crappy polyester stuff). Our room was very quiet, also had a nice view from large windows. But there was lots of mold on the showers tiles, the toilet wouldn't flush properly, and the heating system blew alternately hot air or cold, never warm. Also the TV options were very limited, no movie channels, just basic cable. They seem to have spent some money to upgrade certain things, like the fixtures and furniture, but the wallpaper was dated and peeling off the walls.”

“This hotel stay was tainted by the discourteous service of the gentleman. I had the displeasure of speaking with him on the phone, four days prior to my stay at the Crowne Plaza. I called ahead to confirm two beds for my stay, at which point he informed me that they "could not do that" because they did not "reserve special accommodations requests." he further stated "if something was left" when I arrived, then I could be accommodated. He made sure to say this in a condescending fashion. Upon arrival, the quite polite woman checking us in offered two beds before I could even ask when I mentioned the representative's curt comment she seemed confused and stated that "right now we aren't busy at all; there are lots and lots of rooms open." although I appreciated her polite and efficient manner, my overall experience was less than festive due to being treated less than second class.”

• The overall cleanliness, hospitality, customer service, and just everything.
• I can't think of anything.

“I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I enjoyed my stay here. It was convenient; the staff was very helpful, and pretty close to everything Downtown. I liked the fact that they had a business center, and a shuttle bus. Those two things were very helpful to me during my stay.”

• All staffs were friendly and courteous.
• Food in the restaurant and room service was bland and unimaginative.

“Facilities of the Crowne plaza Richmond are clean and attractive, and the beds are among the most comfortable I have encountered in hotels. The staffs were competent and seemed eager to be helpful. For travelers driving, the parking is accessible and reasonably priced. An automobile may be necessary because there are no restaurants in easy walking distance, and the food in the hotel's restaurant, while plentiful, is bland and unimaginative. I did not avail myself of the hotel's shuttle to an area with restaurants.”

“Excellent downtown hotel with all the amenities you would expect from a high caliber hotel chain plus some extras. Self-service business center provided easy-online access. Pool, Jacuzzi and workout center were clean, up to date and easily accessible. Location also provides wonderful view of James river. This property is an excellent choice for the business traveler. If you conduct business in Richmond, start from this hotel.”

• The drinks at the bar were ridiculously priced. Light came thru the room door.

• The room is very clean.
• They charge $10 per day for parking.

“The Crowne Plaza has very clean rooms with comfortable beds, complete with four pillows. There is a quaint bar room with a friendly bartender. Be sure to try their steak sandwich. On the downside, they charge $10 per day to park. The front desk clerks have poor attitudes. Upon checking out, the clerk appeared unconvinced to print out a copy of my bill.”

“The crowned plaza in Richmond's downtown is a pleasurable stay! Enjoy a walk to the jam's river or to shocked slip, just east. They don't have fresh juice, but they do have fresh coffee!”

• Even the service people seem happy and say "has a good day" or "hello".
• There was some kind of stale odor.

“Pluses: parking only $10 bucks a night (when you are a hotel guest) and only for overnight - you don't pay the day you leave, which in Richmond is fantastic. "Comfort pack.”

“It's a competent business hotel; the hotel is old and looks tired but the room was clean and bed comfortable. Shock hoe slip is about 6 blocks away but I¿m not sure it's safe to walk there in the evenings. The price was pretty good for a "3" star hotel but if I had to pay full price, I¿d stay at a Marriott or omni.”

• The workout facility was less than par.

“Overall great. I only have 2 things to complain about. The work out room and the restaurant on the lobby level. My bf and I went to eat there but a. It was way too smoky and b. The gentleman working told us not to order the soup b/c it was late in the day and it wasn't good. That made us leave. If the soup isn't good, what else isn't? I was also disappointed with the work out room. 2 out of 3 treadmills weren't working and overall were very small. But, again, overall, good. I would stay again.”

• Check in was quick and friendly. Treated 1st class.
• No fridge in room. I had to rent one for an extra $10.

“Very nice hotel. We had a great view overlooking the river. The room was nice but the maid had missed a few items left behind under the bed. Bathroom was attractive but the shower needed to be cleaned badly. Staff was super nice. I would stay here again.”

• I thought room service menu could have been done better.

• The Front desk people were great. They went above and beyond the call.
• The Hostess in the Restaurant was so very rude to my wife and one of our guest.

“The Bell Staff and Front desk managers were great. But the people in the restaurant was so rude to my wife and one of our clients. We were very embarrassed and upset. If she did not want to seat us that would have been much better than her being rude. Knats were also in the buffet.”

• I had a wonderful dining experience.

“Beautifully designed and decorated hotel. Had free gym and free pool where other hotels I have been to charge for the gym use. The room was nice and beautifully decorated. The food was great and the staff was wonderful. On a score of 1 to 10 I would chose 9. 9 because they didn't validate my parking.”

“The front desk ladies recommended a great diner for breakfast right near the hotel. The pool was open late (11pm) and was very nice. The room we stayed in was on a high floor with a view. The bathroom was amazing with granite floors, etc. Most hotels charge $30 for parking, they only charged $10. Most hotels charge $20 for a breakfast buffet, they charged $10.50.”

“This hotel has a beautiful spot in downtown Richmond. The food is excellent; the amenities almost over-whelming (except no fridges in rooms); the beds extremely comfortable; the staff welcoming and friendly. It's also very safe, being just across the street from the area's police station. Lastly, the bartender makes very tasty drinks!”

• The night time sleep package.
• Did not ask if I wanted smoking or non-smoking.

“My stay was very pleasant, but I was not in the hotel long. I felt very safe there. The computers were out in the restaurant so when I ordered room service they were not able to run it through. Upon checkout when I told the desk clerk the charge was not on my bill, they did not charge me! What luck!!”

• The hotel gym is terrible.

“Everything about this hotel was great except for the restaurant and the hotel gym. The food at the restaurant was fine, but the selection was pretty small. The only aspect of the hotel that I was completely disappointed in was the fitness center. It is small and there is not much equipment. I had to wait to ride the elliptical both nights I was there.”
