• The decor of the Hotel inside and out.
• They charge $15.00 for trans to and from the airport.

“Overall, the hotel was worth the price. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would say the hotel was geared more towards the business traveler. The room was clean, and beds extremely comfortable. Very nice Spa and workout Room. 2 pools, 1 indoor and one outdoor. I would definitely stay there again.”

• Hotel was very far away from where my conference was. Parking was very far away from my actual room.

“Hotel was clean and fine for me needs. Workout facilities were excellent; ten times the amount of equipment that I've ever seen at any hotel. There were indoor and out door pools as wells as tennis courts. It was very far from my conference in Reston, when you add in the traffic at 7:30am and 5:30pm. It took 45 minutes to go 13 miles. Also, the self-parking was quite far from where my actual room was. There is no continental breakfast and they charge 9.95/day for internet.”

• The hotel feels like it's an Ivy League college campus.
• Lack of non-hotel amenities within walking distance.

“The Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles Hotel and Conference Center is so beautiful, that a guest feels like he or she is on the campus of an Ivy League college. Despite the very low rate I was paying, all employees treated me with courtesy and respect.”

“Transportation at this hotel is awful. They do not offer a free shuttle to airport and their transportation desk has rude and unhelpful staff. I requested a cab and it was not called for me. I will never stay at this hotel again because their transportation department is a joke. An expensive 4-star hotel like this must have free shuttle to local airport and near by restaurants.”

• Did not like the TV sets all over the bar/restaurant - but it was a bar.

“Looks like a fine old resort. Tucked away in the trees in the middle of a large business park. Dark bar with food. Nice workout room and indoor and outdoor pools. Nothing within walking distance to eat, to shop and sightsee. Definitely need a car. Airport shuttle is not free, $15 per person each way. Must have reservation to ride.”

• Parking is very far off from the hotel.

“Hotel staff is eager to please, always with a friendly greeting and a smile. Rooms are excellent quality with very comfortable bedding. Only 2 small things that were negative about the entire place, the parking lot is quite far off from the hotel and the television in the room is quite small.”

• Wonderful location. Beautiful woody area. Very peaceful.
• Parking was a little far. I was traveling with a Senior Citizen.

“I loved being away from all of the noise and it was very close to the rail system so it made travel really easy. It is close to several communities, so we did a lot of site seeing away from Washington. I would definitely stay again.”

• The hotel was very beautiful and the rooms were very nice with comfortable beds.
• No free airport shuttle.

“Since this hotel fell under the category of airport hotel I assumed that there would be a free airport shuttle. I travel a lot for work and have never stayed in a so called airport hotel location that did not provide this service. They had a shuttle but charged a fee of $15 each way, which basically added $30 to the price of the room. I think that when business travelers are looking to stay near the airport that is something that is expected.”

• We inadvertently parked in a wrong area overnight and were corrected by the parking valet person in the morning. Wish we had learned of it on arrival.

• This is a beautiful hotel.
• Long walk from parking to the front door, charges for Internet access.

“The Westfield's Marriott is a beautiful hotel just a short distance but hidden from the main highway. You will love the upgraded amenities. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The buffet breakfast is superb, through a bit pricy. Great relaxation when on business travel but be sure to bring your spouse if possible!”

• The amenities and services available in the hotel are superb.
• The location is a bit off the beaten path but worth the trip.

“Be treated like royalty! The Westfield's Marriott is probably the best hotel in the overall DC metro area. I have stayed here several times over the past ten years and the service consistently gets better and better with each visit. The hotel staff from the front desk to the valet staff is phenomenal. This is a great hotel whether traveling for business or pleasure with a family.”

• The pub was pretty nice. The staff was friendly and professional.
• It was located in the middle of nowhere too far from Dulles to have Dulles in the name.

“Marriott Westfields Dulles is a golf resort and conference center located in Northern Virginia. In spite of having Dulles in the name, it's a $30 cab ride from Dulles airport and located in the middle of nowhere in Chantilly. You can't walk down the street to a restaurant or shop, for example. But that's because it's really a resort/conference center, not an uptown hotel. I didn't use any of the resort facilities, so I cannot attest to their quality. But if the hotel is any guide, they are very well kept, slightly luxurious and staffed by polite professionals. Polite, however, is not the same thing as friendly or affable. Aside from the doorman, who went out of his way to be conversational, most staff seemed fairly aloof, even if always pleasant. The waitresses and bartenders for example, provided service with a smile, but no banter or personal attention of any kind. In sum, it's a true 3-star hotel for sure, but nothing really ostentatious. A bit on the stuffy side for my liking. Rant mode on: Like too many business hotels, Marriott Westfields wanted to charge $9.95/day for high-speed Internet access. That drives me nuts. I'm only awake in a hotel for a few hours. I shouldn't have to pay to check my freaking email. Rant mode off.”

• Totally non-smoking facility.
• Hotel charges $15 each way for airport transportation.

“If I want a hotel by the airport, I expect it to have complimentary airport transportation at a 3-star level. This hotel is not for the short night business traveler. Sprint service went out at drive way, therefore I had no cell or broadband connection. This is the first time I have stayed at an airport hotel (in USA) without Sprint reception.”

• Beautiful setting, historical feel, pretty rooms, helpful staff.
• It was too far from the airport.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the conference center and felt very renewed by the atmosphere and service in a place with an historical feel. The only downside to the experience was that we had checked we wanted something by the airport, and this hotel was 20 minutes minimum from there.”

• Mildew on shower curtain - they were changing as we left.

“This hotel was convenient, yet off the beaten path. Elegant presentation as you entered the lobby and richly decorated rooms making it comfortable to work and relax in. The pool area was lovely and the staff was always pleasant!”

“This hotel was excellent and well worth the price I paid. The only bad thing that we encountered was our room had not been cleaned when we arrived. We told the front desk and the cleaning people were there within a minute with sincere apologies. Twenty minutes later, we were in and it was great. The hotel staff is very family friendly and very courteous and professional. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who has kids and needs to stay near the airport (or for any other reason).”

“This is a fabulous property. The hotel is located on a fairly large property and is "resort like". There are indoor and outdoor pools, exercise room, tennis courts, bikes, and a spa. The one restaurant we tried was excellent and inexpensive. We only booked one night but wished we stayed a week! It is very conveniently located near the Air and Space Museum.”

• Older rooms in good shape, but not aging well

“The hotel room was adequate, but no more. Room was a bit awkward, had a very 10-15 year-old feel to it all. Nothing was particularly worn out, but it is just not updated. Smallish tube TV, older beige stucco walls and green carpet. Parking was pretty far away. Door hit the bathtub. Some design details and room appointments were clearly overlooked. An important distinction, though: every employee was incredibly attentive and helpful, the rooms and public spaces were super clean, gym was nice, and the pub and restaurant were great. I would go back when I needed to be this far away from town - may be near Dulles, but I would spend no time in the room. Also, small thing, but no coffee in the lobby, just Starbucks, which, while great, is still 2 bucks a cup. And C'mon, lower-end hotels can provide free Wi-Fi spots and only wired access in the rooms? Buying 15 blocks of wireless connectivity can be harsh and plugging in to the Ether port? Cripes. Flat panels. Particularly if you mean to be a conference venue. But, I would close by re-iterating the supreme service and attention to cleanliness. Excellent job folks.”

• I was charged $15 to and from the airport in the "complimentary shuttle service".

“I loved the hotel but the $30 extra I had to spend on the shuttle too. I normally choose a 3 star hotel near Dulles Airport because most 3 star Hotels include shuttle service.”

• It was one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed at recently. Excellent.
• There is a charge for using the business center, rather expensive!

“I think my overall evaluation of the hotel should speak volume about the quality of this hotel. The only other thing was the choice of restaurants, which were not that many in the area. I was also very disappointed with the fact that the business center has a charge for the usage of the computer and that was not a flat fee, they charge by minutes! That was very inconvenient, as I had to drive to a local library in the area that closed 30 minutes after I arrived! Therefore my project was left undone!”
