• Night security guard was a really nice guy.
• The pool was bad until they cleaned it the morning I left.

“The hotel was perfectly adequate. It was clean and quiet. Staff was nice, particularly the night security guard who was a really nice guy. The only two problems I had were that the shower could not be turned off. If the water was running the shower was on, and the swimming pool was bad until the morning I left when they had finally cleaned it.”

• Clean.
• Poor snow/ice removal--walks cleared too much packed ice in parking spaces.

“Micowave, fridge, safe were nice to have as well as the breakfast service. We visited in unusual weather for the area. Snow shovels were not available in town and the staff was trying to cope with the ice and snow.”

• Cost.
• Old, dirty, run down.

“If all you need is a bed and a TV for a minimal cost, then this location serves its purpose, just make sure you keep the lights off. I would not recommend bringing children to the room as everything but the linens were old and dirty.”

• It was economical.
• It was difficult getting in and out of the hotel entrance.

• The woman who cooked my eggs.

“This place is a audit, should be restored, the room that I was supposed to stay was located the last at the back of the building, bad odor coming from as soon that we opened the door and the lights were not functional. We asked as soon for another, a bit better, bathroom and flooring ugly.”

“We were very disappointed in this hotel, considering the rating. The staff did not have a queen size bed in a non-smoking room. The hotel was full of loud construction workers who seemed to be up all night.”

• The hot breakfast was very nice!
• Phones didn't work in our room, but the front desk said they would get right on it.

“Nice hotel for the price and perfect for our short stay. The only problems we had were the phone and one of the lights not working in the room. The breakfast was nice. Perfect place to stay for our short visit in Fredericksburg.”

• The hotel was clean, comfortable, excellently located and reasonably priced.
• The night clerk was a little, less than friendly but it was 4 a.m. When we arrived.

• The hot breakfast was a wonderful and unexpected.
• Room could use some updating, but not a problem as we only slept there.

“Excellent location, the hot breakfast was wonderful and unexpected. Easy off and on to the interstate, lots of restaurants around. It was perfect for us - in meetings all day, quick dinner then off to sleep.”

• I didn't get the wake-up call I asked for.

“On a busy ugly stretch of route 1 surrounded by fast food franchises, gas stations, and car dealerships. If you're trying to make a turn out of the parking lot it is very difficult due to all the traffic backed up. Not exactly "the Ritz" but ok if you're just looking for a place for the night nearby beautiful downtown Fredericksburg.”

• The breakfast was great. It was great to have a hot breakfast.
• The front desk personnel were rude. The location was a little out of the way for Fredericksburg.

• Great location for interstate traveling with several restaurant choices in the area.
• My first stay was in a room that hadn't been renovated yet. It needed to be.

“This Econo Lodge is a good value for the money. The renovated rooms were in good shape. The location was very handy to I-95 and there were several restaurant choices in the area. I would stay there again.”

“Our stay was great. The only problem was during breakfast. The cleaning staff was eating at a back table. One lady was complaining about her job, swearing. I had a 2 and 5 year old and I was not too happy that they had to listen to this.”

“The location is great except you have to make a U turn to get there from the interstate. Lots of restaurants nearby. Overall, the room was nice and the free breakfast was great. There was an exercise room and pool that I did not use.”

“I would highly recommend the Econo Lodge Fredericksburg, especially if you are a civil war buff. This is a prime location for exploring the many civil war location in and around Fredericksburg. They also provide an excellent full breakfast that you should not miss. The staff is highly sensitive to the guest needs. I have stayed there on 3 different occasions, and on my next visit to Fredericksburg. Kudos to the entire staff at the Jefferson Davis Highway Econo Lodge Fredericksburg. Do keep up the wonderful service to all guests. They make the stay worth the stop.”

• That we could pull right up to the room.
• The grounds needed some work.

“This hotel was not too bad. The room was clean but the outside areas where not kept up too well. They had a free hot breakfast which was very nice and the people on the staff were very good.”

• No problem with requests for 2 beds, nonsmoking.
• Breakfast buffet set-up was awkward.

“We arrived late and left early, so we really didn't take full advantage of the facilities. It is a clean, quiet place to relax after a full day of driving the Interstate. It was convenient to I-95.”

“This hotel was dirty, dark and scruffy compared to two hotels that were located no more than 200 yards away. The trash in the cans was disgusting as well as our room which was non smoking but smelled like smoke. I would never care to stay there again.”

“The motel was ok for he star rating. There are not irons in the rooms and you have to make a $10 deposit to borrow one. The housekeeper barged in the room without ample warning and I was not dressed. It could have been very embarrasing, if I had not gotten into the bathroom quick enough. She did the same thing a second time, assuming we'd already checked out, when in fact, we requested an extended stay.”
