• The room was spacious.
• The room smelled like old take-out food and the toilet broke.

“The hotel was an excellent price. It was a little hard to find (you have to go through a shopping center to find it). The staff was very friendly and addressed any problems I had quickly. The dishes in the room were not good.”

• The sheets hadn't been changed.

“As it was late when we turned in and all our things were unpacked for the night, we didn't call the desk. They weren't soiled looking and I'm not sure if the hairs were from a dog or a human's head that I saw on the sheets.”

• Full kitchen facility.
• Mattress as hard as floor-not a comfortable sleep.

“Hotel facility was adequate. Problem was that the mattress was like sleeping on the floor. This caused us not to want to stay at this brand or it's subsidiaries again.”

• Air conditioner and refrigerator were noisy and kept us up due to then constantly turning on and off.

• The desk people were very nice.
• The bathrooms were not as clean as I like.

“Hotel was okay. The desk staff were very helpful. I don't think the cleaning staff did a very good job of cleaning. The showers had hair in them and above the fridge were cob webs. The hall smelled like bad cooking, but in extended stay hotels the halls always smell.”

• The front desk service was excellent.
• Even for a one star hotel, it should have had some shampoo - also the room wasn't cleaned thoroughly as there were some crumbs with ants all over them.

“For a one star hotel - this was very good. Notes for improvements include clearer identification of the hotel from the main road.”

• Fairly inexpensive-really liked that it has a kitchen.
• Staff shortage- when I went to check out there was a sign that said be back later, so I just left my key at the desk.

“Not bad, I liked that the hotel was pet-friendly and that is has a kitchen. A kitchen is nice for longer stays as eating out gets old and is expensive and there is a grocery store almost right across the street. But if you like to eat out, there are many restaurants within five minutes of the hotel.”

• It was clean, quiet, inexpensive, and restful.
• Difficult to locate.

“As a frugal traveler, I was pleased that this motel had all the necessary basics (except breakfast) as well as a well equipped kitchen. The value I got was exceptional. Who expects to get a 2 star motel room thats clean and comfortable for $35?”

• Staff is very polite and friendly.
• Room might not be as well cleaned as they should be between visitors.

“This is a great hotel for the price. Staff is great. My only complain is that the rooms are not always cleaned as well as they should be - e.g. I've found coffee maker left with the old filter a couple of times, some stuff left in the fridge and the utensils/dishes not thoroughly washed.”

“The hotel met our expectations in most ways. Even if an extended stay hotel, it would still have been nice to see a little bottle of shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. The room as spacious and the bed comfortable. The location was really good.”

• Clean, spacious room, well laid out kitchenette.
• No couch. My teenage son was expected to sleep in the recliner rather than a bed or sofa bed.

“The idea of an extended stay suite implies a living room area. This is not made clear in the reservation materials. Surely, you do not expect a teen or child to sleep in a recliner with not linens. Moreover, I cannot imagine anyone enjoying an extended stay without any semblance of a living room.”

• Friendly, helpful staff. Big room. Nice efficiency.
• Tucked too far back from road to be easily spotted. Cable channel choices lame.

“I would recommend this ESA to any long-term business traveler. While it is difficult to find the hotel, the location is private. It can be a little noisy, because it's right by i-390 onramp. But the location in Henrietta can't be beat. It's close enough to the city of Rochester where you won't have to travel forever to get to a bed to fall into after a long day, and there's a lot in terms of shopping -- leisure, grocery, or for necessity -- in the area. P.s. Jen at the front desk was very helpful. Great employee!”

“Booked 2 nights, stayed one because the bed was so uncomfortable I rather drive 6 hours back to new York city then sleep another night in that bed. Staff is friendly and helpful, but you definitely get what you pay for. If you are a road warrior that only cares about a roof over your head and a rock for bed then this is the place for you.”

“The hotel is an extended stay facility. There is a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and microwave which was very nice and convenient. The bed was very comfortable, and the room appeared modern, and well kept.”

• The staff is exceptionally helpful and outgoing.
• Built-up dirt in the room is visible.

“Overall, I would stay again. However, the dirt is a turn-off, especially in the bath/toilet area. The staff really goes out of their way to accommodate all guests. This is excellent and the reason I will try them again.”

• Convenient to the highway.
• No free Internet, which I¿ve come to expect at hotels.

“Extended-Stay America Rochester-Henrietta is convenient to I390 and central Henrietta. The staff was friendly and the entryway and room were clean. The only downside is the proximity of the laundry room to some of the guest rooms which means that 3 or 4 rooms can hear the laundry machines running if someone is using them.”

• Location was close to stores and places to eat.
• Had the manager take me into numerous room all of which had a smell of mold and smoke the rooms were dirty and was very disappointed unable to sleep.

“Do not stay here at any price. All the rooms smell of smoke and have an odor of mold which made me ill advised the manager who was nice but very little she could do based on the condition of the property. I would rather sleep in a tent than in this filthy hotel.”

• Front entrance dirty. Waited 10 minutes before getting in to motel.

“Motel staff was advised that we would arrive after 11:00pm. We were told to pick up the outside phone to contact a staff member to gain entry. In doing so I waited a minute until someone answered. It was not the staff that answered. The person who did answer said he would contact the attendant. No one came to the door while I stood in the dirty entranceway for 10 minutes. I called again and the attendant came. She insinuated that I must not have dialed the correct number and then claimed that the phone was off hook. She tried to put the blame on me. In calling the motel to add our daughter to the list we were told that there would be and extra bed to accommodate her. Instead we only had two single beds. My wife did not sleep well that night. Before going to bed I stepped in a small puddle of water left on the floor in the kitchen area. The toilet does not flush properly. The room door does not lock easily.”

• It was not clean, Had to have room changed. Was cleaner but did not live up to my expectations.

“If you need a place to stay for one night it was not real clean but it would do, Crispy cream and tops is down the street. I would not recommend it for any kind of vacation. It is Kind of out of the way behind some buildings.”

“We were given a smoking room even though they had a non smoking room. We would have had to pay full price for the non smoking room. The room smelled bad.”

• Very low quality, very poor presentation, very poor staff response to problems

“This hotel was obviously being used for weekly rentals of low-income families. It was loud (paper thin walls) and not just low budget but "cheap". When I asked to be moved to a different room because I was first placed in a smoking room, I was told well we cant do this one - it has bugs-, this other one is missing a TV and another was missing something else. After the bug remark - I checked under mattresses and such in my new room and found hairs and dirt under the mattress.”

• I like the fact the hotel offers refrigerator and small kitchen so we can keep left over dinner over night.
• It is located in a location which is not very visible.

• Had shuttle to malls.
• The mattress.

“The hotel was very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. I tipped the gentleman who drove me in the shuttle to the mall and when I tried to tip him again for the return trip he refused and said it was not necessary. Very nice and unexpected. The only bad thing about the hotel is the mattress was not very comfortable and the pillows are skinny.”

• Lots of room, big table to do work on. Fridge, stove, microwave
• Room was dirty. Was not vacuumed well, bathroom also dirty. Bed had hair on it. Wish it was cleaner.

“It took awhile to check in as front desk was more like a college dorm. Room was dirty. I stayed 2 nights and they also did not change/make the bed after the 1st night. This was my 1st stay in an Extended Stay America, will not do again. Very disappointed, I do not recommend.”

• Hotel does not have 24 hour front desk staff almost missed checkout!

“Nice hotel overall. Comes with stovetop, fridge and microwave. TV is kind of small and no HBO. Location is excellent, 5 minutes off the NY thruway and close to many restaurants and places to shop. Most rooms in this hotel only have one bed so beware if you wish to share a room with someone and hope for 2 double beds. Also, the front desk apparently closes at 11 pm. I personally almost missed check-in and would've had to sleep in my car. I wish I was informed of this ahead of time.”

• $4 Wifi access per stay is nice, decent sized kitchen.
• Bed was a little stiff. Wasn't impressed with quality of sheets.

• Desk manager was very friendly and helpful, and hotel was clean, most importantly it was very convenient for business with kitchen and workspace.
• Nothing I did not like.

“This hotel should be rated much higher than it is, I would give it 3 stars! There are no extras like pool or exercise room, but the rooms are a good size with a nice kitchen and work space and were very clean. Great for business travelers or families needing an extended stay.”
