• I really liked the location. My wife and I were able to take a nice leisurely walk down the river to the high falls area.
• I did not like the signage. It was difficult to find the hotel from the typical arrival direction. They need a large sign on both sides.

• The room was clean and the location convenient.
• Hotel staff were not focused on customer satisfaction.

“The room was nice and the beds comfortable. However, consierge didn't answer the phone nor did the front desk. This hotel seemed to exist in absence of personnel. If you couldn't get your needs met by yourself, you were out of luck. This was in the context of a mission statement that stated that if they didn't fix your problem your stay was free....wouldn't go back.”

• We were in the business district and there wasn't much to do or see in the area.

• The staff
  did an excellent job of accommodating my family.
• I didn't like the parking garage, the spaces were too close and events caused us to have to park in the rain.

“Even though my family could be demanding, they were able to place us all on the same floor, which made our stay very convenient. The hotel desk staff, helped us in more ways than I could appreciate. However, the parking at the hotel was difficult. They had numerous events which caused a tremendous amount of traffic into the hotel. We had to park on the roof in the rainy weather. Overall, I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the price was fantastic.”

• The hotel is close to the convention center and connected by a heated skyway.
• No real problem.

“The hotel is centrally located to downtown Rochester. Only a few short blocks to the Eastman Theater. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. A very nice value for the money.”

• Great location.
• The parking was a bit tough, in room coffee need real creamers.

“This was a great hotel to stay at. My only low point was the in room coffee. They have mini fridges in the rooms so why not give real creamers instead of the powered stuff. Other than that it was an awesome place to stay.”

• It was nice and comfortable.
• The walls are not insulated well. Lots of noise from all the rooms around. Lots of hall noise coming into rooms making it difficult to sleep.

“Overall it was an ok stay. Our only beef was that there was a lot of noise both from the hall and from the rooms next door that seeped into the room. A bunch of teenagers having a party in one room kept us up for a while. Walls not insulated well for sound. Crying baby in the other room. Noise from across the hall too.”

• Basic hotel nicely located near the downtown convention center.
• Noise from the combination heat and AC coupled with thin walls.
  

“A basic hotel conveniently located downtown near the convention center. Our room was adequate and fairly spacious. A combination heat and AC unit along with "thin walls" allowed for a bit more noise than one would like. The hotel could use a bit of maintenance, but was not in disrepair. The on site restaurant is dirty with poor service that better serves as a bar in the evening.

• Good location.
• Cramped parking garage, business center didn't work, uncomfortable bed, broken ice machine.

“Looks nice, but doesn't live up to price. Business center didn't work, request to have someone look into it went seemingly unnoticed. Restaurant may or may not have been open at dinner hour on a Saturday, couldn't find staff to ask them. Not worth the money they charge.”

• The refrigerator, and Microwave in room.
• Parking, you shouldn't have to pay for that.

• Comfortable bed with mini-refrigerator and microwave; attractive decor.
• There is no elevator from the parking garage to the hotel lobby and no food is available after 9 pm.

“I've stayed at this property more than once and like it because it's comfortable and its downtown location is accessible, though it's surrounding area only a couple of blocks away is questionable. The downside of this property is that parking isn't easy--there isn't any elevator from the upper tiers of the garage and the overflow parking is more than a block away. There is no food service, restaurant or room-service, available after 9 pm; you are handed an area map with listings.”

• I liked how easy it was to access the exercise room.
• Nothing.

“It is easy access to the hotel from downtown Rochester. The under ground parking lot was clean and efficient for entering the hotel. I was on the 7th floor so it gave me a great overview of the city from my room.”

“The rooms and hotel was nice, but the rest of Rochester is starting off on a downward trend I suppose. Unless you leave the city to the outward malls. But it wasn't all bad. It had the Genesee waterfall.”

• It was easy to find and convenient to the convention center.
• I left a battery charger and batteries in the room and called to reclaim them within 8 hours and did not get them back.

“I bought this hotel for my business partners. They really enjoyed it. We're very surprised by the beds, the staff, the ambiance, the cleanliness, the service, and the location. Especially for such a low price. Can't wait to put someone up here again!”

“The hotel was fine. I've stayed here a few times before. My truck window was smashed and my satellite radio was stolen. The truck was in the hotel ramp on the main level. The booth for the only way in/out was unmanned. I am not pleased.”

• Great view of the river.
• Could not get out on balcony, restaurant was not so good.

“Room was nice and comfortable. Staff was friendly. We had a great room with a view of the river. Downsides, the hotel restaurant was not very good, we had a balcony but could not go out onto it, and you have to pay for parking.”

• Helpful hotel staff.
• Terrible restaurant.

“People were friendly and helpful, from everyone who worked in every position. The only disappointment was the restaurant. Terrible, service, food, length of time waiting all the customers were unhappy many complaints. If the restaurant stays there without change I would not book that hotel again!”

• The comfort and elegance of the room was wonderful. It was a large room with very tasteful decor.
• The water pressure in the bathroom was not very good and toilet did not flush well.

“The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortably with nice cushy pillows. The sink in the bathroom was marble. There room had a comfortable chair and ottoman in it plus a desk and chair. There were plenty of outlets available and each lamp had an outlet in it's base. I would stay there again.”

• Great location and fantastic bargain.
• Bar service and front desk service could stand improvement.

“Perfect for a downtown location at a great rate. Rooms are spacious and new beds and bedspreads have been recently placed in every room. Convenient shuttle service from the airport and generally friendly staff. Updates are in progress, but as is the hotel is a clean, comfortable, full service hotel.”

• The size of the rooms.
• No negatives.

“The hotel was beautiful. We were greeted immediately and the receptionist took note of my worn out appearance. She was so sweet and helpful. The ramp connects directly to the hotel eliminating the need to go outside to get to the hotel lobby. The lobby was beautifully decorated and the names of special groups were prominently displayed. Despite the crowds of people, everyone was very courteous and prompt at meeting our needs. The parking cost was extra but a real bargain at $4 per night. I would go there again anytime!”

• Front desk computer systems did not work. This caused very slow service.

“This hotel is ugly and grubby. The staff is very nice but also very slow (or else they are understaffed). It took me about an hour to get completely checked in and into my (correct) room. The restaurant is abysmal, which is especially painful since virtually all other food in downtown Rochester is unavailable in the evening. No kidding, room service delivers $15 plates of what might as well be dog food.”

• It would have been nice if the business centre included free internet access.

• Dirty, unclean towels provided, parking fee, terrible restaurant/ bar.

“I have stayed at many budget as well as very upscale hotels. This has the potential to be a very nice place, but the facilities need to be managed correctly. Restaurant and bar were terrible, with bad food and even worse service. This is the first time I was ever given dirty towels and stained bed sheets. Very poorly run hotel.”

• The time I spent there was very comfortable.
• After cleaning the room face cloths and lining the trash cans were not done. I purchased two rooms and my sister room after cleaning was left open.

“I did not spend a lot of time in the hotel to make a comment on the hotel. Your gift shop is really too high. I also think that paying for parking was a bit much.”

“It is an older hotel that is located in a poor section of town with no evening activities available. Unless it is dramatically upgraded in terms of rooms and amenities, I do not recommend it as a place except for budget travelers.”

• Parking was convenient and inexpensive.
• In need of renovation - loud guests and staff in the hallways.

“I am from Rochester, and this hotel is on par with a motel rather than a hotel. The rooms are very out of date. It serves its purpose as far as providing a place to crash for a brief stay, but there isn't much in terms of home-away-from-home comfort or the atmosphere of a quality hotel.”
