“We were assured that the cosmetic work being done on the hotel at the time of the wedding would be unnoticeable. Sandblasting the building as you walk in is not unnoticeable! Nor was it unnoticeable to have to cross picket lines because they were using non-union workers. This is how it started. We had to change hotel rooms twice because the plumbing was not working. The carpeting is lifting up in the hallways, toilet tank covers were not fitting on top of the toilet, I guess mix and match is a new look. More than half of the guests had to change rooms. One of my guests didn't want me to know that they didn't have air conditioning in their room. We had my daughter's reception there also. The hotel is an absolute mess, nothing like it was when it was part of the Crowne Plaza group. The service that we received by our coordinator was poor at best.” Aug 21, 2008 by

“We ordered food at 12:45 am. It didn't arrive till 2:30. We received a call around 2:20 from front desk that said your food is down here come get it click! We were shocked at how angry he was. About 10 minutes later we here pounding on the door a delivery girl and her bouncer were there and she said sorry we got killed tonight after we told her that we didn't want it because we waited over an hour and a half and the pizza was burnt (we left it in the room) and the quesadilla was cold. But we still paid the $30. An hour and a half is too long to wait for burnt food and I didn't appreciate being forced into paying for it and the rudeness from the front desk.” Aug 9, 2008 by

“Ideally located for downtown activities, with adjacent parking. Very pleasant and comfortable decor, though a bit worn in spots. Restaurant was quite good. The hotel was being picketed by an ecumenical group protesting unfair labor practices the employees faced; that may influence your decision to stay.” Aug 2, 2008 by

“Hotel was making necessary improvements. This may have been why it was very dirty.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Julie from St George, UT
“This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was in an area of the city that was very unsafe. The carpet was filthy and very faded, the wallpaper was all peeling, there was dust all over the room, it had a very bad smell. The restaurant which was very expensive ($15 for a hamburger) had the worst service I have ever encountered. We waited an hour and 15 min for our food and our drinks were never refilled. All in all this was a terrible experience and I wouldn't even recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!” Jun 29, 2008 by

“I would rate this a 2 star, certainly not a 3.” May 20, 2008 by

“While the price was reasonable, the hotel looked in need of updating. Carpeting in the hallways looked in need of replacing. Restaurant was supposed to be open until midnight, but was not. Arrived at 11 p.m. and could find no place to get anything to eat. Vending machines had no snacks.” Apr 16, 2008 by

“I booked the Crowne expecting a great experience based on other hotels I have stayed at that were also Crowne Plazas. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The hallways smelled and you could see spots on every door where a number plate had been removed. It looked terrible! The room was outdated, and it also smelled, with wallpaper peeling from the wall and cracks in the ceiling. We initially though our hot water did not work, but it just took literally 5 minutes to heat up. The room was dirty. There was hair in the bathtub and on the sheets. I called guest services to ask a question, but the first phone I tried in the room was broke. After I tried the second phone and asked my question, (a simple question about parking) I was re-connected to another department and when nobody answered after about a minute, I just hung up. The entire parking situation was confusing. There were no instructions anywhere about where we pay or how we pay or what we needed to do. Additionally, The Crowne Plaza is supposed to offer the "sleep advantage program," but there was nothing in my room that included any part of the feature. I'm not even sure if the bed was one of the new comfortable beds that the Crowne boasts. The only positive things were that the staff I came into contact with was friendly and it was in walking distance to the arena where we were going to an event. This was a very disappointing experience.” Oct 9, 2007 by

“Nice hotel as long as they do not put you by banquet area wait loud bands playing to early morning. They did supply ear plugs but that did not help.” Oct 1, 2007 by
Brian from Veradale, WA
“We were on the top floor (7th) there was a wedding downstairs going on until 12:30 am. The fixtures in our room were shaking until then. The hotel dismissed our complaint when we called several times to complain about the noise.” Sep 30, 2007 by
Donald from San Juan, PR
“Rooms are distant from elevators; hotel Is clean and accessible, secure.” Nov 17, 2006 by

“Very comfortable beds could use some updated furniture, ceiling tiles, etc. But the view of the river is beautiful.” Hotel Representatives:
