• Friendliness, view, and cleanliness.

“The hotel is lovely--people are friendly--we slept with the ocean sound (doors open). Not sure how quiet it would have been otherwise, since we were right next to the elevators & ice machine/soft drink machine. But, we had no problem sleeping. They had a small concert Friday night--and even that didn't bother us.”

• The room was very nice! The deck that overlooks the ocean and pool is awesome!!
• Pool water was too warm and salty. ( hard to control at the beach i know)

• Front desk personnel were very efficient, friendly, & accommodating.
• Pool bathrooms sometimes needed attention (toilet paper).

“Great experience starts at the front door with great bellhops who are also great van drivers. The front desk staff are friendly and willing to do everything they can to make your stay great. The concierge is awesome. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The pool is very clean and the staff at the pool super friendly. The drinks at the pool bar are great and reasonably priced. Room service was served quickly and tasted great.”

“The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort was awesome! My husband and I went there summer of '08. We stayed in a king harbor side whirlpool room. The bed was so comfy we didn't want to get out of it! The room was extremely clean, the whirlpool is very roomy. The balcony overlooked the harbor and you could also see a small view of the ocean. The flat screen TV was nice. The indoor pool was very nice, the outdoor one as well. The hotel is located on the lovely Wrightsville Beach.”

• Right on the beach and the two pool combo.
• The menu needs work for the restaurant.

“The menu for the children eating free was very selective. The menu for Adults could use a Cappuccino or two. A lounge with out a bar would be nice like a library area. All in all the children loved the hotel and staff. We would stay there again but maybe not as long. We would up grade to a suite next time.”

• Great food, exceptionally friendly and professional staff.
• We were in a smoking room, the whole corridor reeked of smoke as well as carpet, blankets.

“It was not the hotel's fault that it smelled of smoke. The hotel overall was wonderful. We enjoyed the 3 days we spent there. The smoke thing was a drag though.”

• Hard to reach guest services (room service).

“In the top three for hotels due to the staff. Everything at the hotel was excellent and the pool staff answered every need that happened to arise. The only problem encountered is you could not reach guest services listed in the hotel directory, but upon calling the front desk, they were immediately able to connect with the proper channels. Highly recommend hotel.”

“We had such a fun time at this resort. It was clean, comfortable, and fun. Great staff. They even upgrade at no extra charge. Outstanding place to stay and beach was beautiful. Would love to go back to stay again sometime. Very happy to stay there.”

• Great hotel, enjoyed my stay so much would love to go back again for a longer stay.
• My A/C was not working in the room made for a slightly uncomfortable night.

“This hotel has everything you could ever need, parking is very convenient, to go along with all the hotels features. The staff was very courteous and helpful and made the trip to the area very convenient.”

• Child friendly w/kids pool; convenient location to beach.
• Staff not as friendly toward single-mothers as they were to families.

“Overall the entire experience with the hotel was absolutely wonderful! My husband is away and my son and I went on our own. The perception of "single-mother" was bit week receptive. I walked to the reception desk and they looked past me to find a man. Some of the restaurant gave off the impression of either pity or disdain that I didn't have my husband with me until they found out he was military serving Korea. Overlooking all of that the stay was very pleasant and relaxing which was the purpose of the trip.”

• Lounge chairs looking out over the beach, the lifeguard at the beach, attentive staff, nice pool.
• Unable to get a non-smoking room!

“The hotel was quite nice, with many luxury amenities packed into an efficient space, and yet it never felt cramped. The staff was lovely, the beach was beautiful. It was a lovely stay. There are not, however, designated smoking areas, and their smoking and non-smoking rooms are on the same halls, which smell terrible.”

• On the ocean in the front and on the inter coastal in the back!
• I critic all hotels I stay in. This one is excellent. May the bathrooms could be bigger.

“If you are looking for a hotel that you can go to and have all your needs taken care of on location, this is it! The service is impeccable in every area. Check-in, the bellman, the restaurants, the pool staff, room service and the maids! My wife and I loved it!! Enjoy!”

• Restaurant was too expensive. Food not that great for price.

• The location is very good for the beach.
• I have stayed here before but was disappointed by the service and freshness of the facility.

“The location is great for those going to the beach. The facility was renovated several years ago and is nice but is getting a little tired. The rooms all have ocean views or sound views. Noise from hallway and other rooms was an issue. Service was fair at best. This is more like a level 2 facility.”

• Holiday Inn affiliation isn't good. Holiday Inns are known for being lousy hotels.

• Just a shower and no bathtub in our room.

“Beautiful and clean. The hotel staff was so friendly! We ordered room service twice and the food beat any other restaurant that we had visited in Wrightsville Beach! We had a wonderful time.”

• The view is amazing and the desk clerks are very helpful.
• The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.

“If you can get a room with an ocean view, do it or else you could stay a couple blocks away for way cheaper. Aside from that, everything was excellent.”

• The outdoor pool had a bar and easy access to the beach.
• The hotel was way overpriced for the small room with no view.

“The hotel overall was nice. I loved the bar at the outdoor pool and the easy access to the beach. I did feel that the hotel was overpriced, at least based on the room that we stayed in, because the only thing we saw out of the window was the roof of the hotel (lower floors).”

• Great room, great food, great pool, magnificent beach!
• Music at the pool not so good, and the girl serving drinks was not up to speed on her job.

“Very romantic, the food was better than it had to be. The beach was beautiful and the water was perfect. Pool side was pleasant. I had one of the best little vacations of my life.”

• Right on the beach, indoor pool, clean, helpful staff, updated appearance, family-conducive (playard, etc), lounge with live music.
• Much traffic on road, some problems with elevators, no continental breakfast, lobby located on 3rd floor, debris from previous room guest overlooked.

“Was very nice, an excellent value for the cost. Although we traveled without the kids, it was family conducive with playground, beach, pool, "kids club" and TV games or movies, and kids eat free. Being right on the beach was the high point with towels provided for pool and beach. Clean beach with fun for all age ranges. The staff was friendly and helpful. My husband and I enjoy live music, which was provided in the lounge. Visiting from the northeast, the weather was wonderful during our stay. It was a wonderful break for my husband and I to get away with all we needed to make it special. Good fun, good food, good time!”
