- Very attentive and a friendly staff. Plentiful continental breakfast. Cookies, filtered water in lobby. Mints on pillow.
- Efficiency style bathroom (sink was just outside the bathroom door near closet). Could hear footsteps from room above.
“The Baymont was really much nicer than we anticipated for our little three-day extension to an autumn anniversary getaway. The little details like filtered water and cookies in the lobby, 24 hour coffee, tea, and fresh fruit for the taking in the breakfast area, and the bright-eyed sincere attention to customer happiness really set this hotel apart from others in this price range. I have already recommended it to friends.”

- Very convenient to major activities and attractions.
- Carpets were filthy; the A/C was very noisy; major road noise; not enough outlets; not enough sink space.
“Place is fine if all you need is a base location with the bare basics of a place to sleep. We checked into a non-smoking room that had been smoked in -- the front desk promptly changed our rooms with no questions. We didn't have pets but they have a separate floor for pet-friendly rooms which is pretty cool.”

- Staff was nice
- No room service for extra blankets
“Overall for the price we paid it was ok. I'm always looking for cleanliness so I was not happy with the carpet in the room and I really was not impressed with the cleanliness of the bedding. The staff was nice. The continental breakfast was better than most I've seen with a wafflemaker and plenty of other goodies.”

- The staff was hospitable and the breakfast bar was clean and abundant.
- It can't help that it is wedged between car dealerships and upscale chain eateries!
“For folks visiting UNC Wilmington, this hotel is a great buy. I was very pleased with the general cleanliness of the property. The pool was refreshing and sanitary, as was the "continental breakfast bar." The staff was welcoming, helpful, and seemed to take pride in providing a safe haven for travelers. The property is close to the beach and to the wonderful sights in Wilmington.”

- Front desk staff were knowledgeable and very friendly.
- The decor of the room was not my taste but was very clean nonetheless.
“Conveniently located halfway between Wrightsville Beach and downtown historic Wilmington. A front desk which is staffed by very courteous and knowledgeable staff. Rooms were immaculately clean. Complimentary breakfast included. Very family friendly.”

- Pool, breakfast and lobby service all were great.
- Rooms small and did I mention small. They could have been cleaner.
“If you don't mind a small room and have pets, this is the hotel for you. I didn't know that they allowed pets and wouldn't have stayed at this hotel. If you have allergies and listening to a dog howl in the morning isn't your cup of tea go somewhere else. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The guest soap wrapper had mold on it. Some signs of mold in tub surround area also. Good qualities were pool area private, breakfast area large, clean and good variety of foods offered. The lobby service was fast and concise.”

- Continental breakfast was much better than most.
- Rooms were a bit small.
“Hotel has a great staff and public appearance. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The rooms are a bit small and the carpets needed to be shampooed. A sign in the lobby did say they were renovating most of the rooms this coming winter with new carpets and furniture, but there isn't too much they can do about the small rooms.”

- The linens were a bit outdated, I'd recommend bringing a blanket from home. Good sheets though.

- It was inexpensive, clean, great location, and met my needs. I liked the free breakfast too, it was great for someone on the go.
- The housekeeping knocked on my door early and woke me up a couple of days. Be sure to put up your "Do not disturb" sign before you go to bed!
“The hotel was in a central location with a nearby Starbucks, restaurants, shopping, and half-way in between Wrightsville Beach and the downtown area by the Cape Fear River. The breakfast was quick and ready to take with you or eat there, with choices to make most people happy. The room was clean, well-maintained, and met all my needs as a single traveler. The only negative thing (there was only one!) was that the housekeeping knocked on the door and woke me up as early as 9 am in the morning (which is early when I'm on vacation and trying to catch up on sleep.) So if you want to sleep in be sure to put up the "Do not disturb" sign before you go to bed. One last thing-I did not realize that a friend had left 2 small envelopes with money in them on top of the desk in my room. Normally I would not leave out valuables like that, but the housekeeping did not touch the money, and nothing was missing. I appreciated that.”

- Easy to get too & lots of restaurants and stores in the area if you need anything.
- Loud air conditioners in room & poor maintenance of equipment in maintenance room causes a very loud, vibrating sound in rooms above it.
“The hotel is good and clean. It has 2 star linens, although it has nicer towels than most 2 star hotels. The air cond. in the rooms need maintenance. They are very loud and I was in 2 rooms and they were the same. Their maintenance room has equipment that turns on in the middle of the night. I think its a pool pump and its very loud and the floor vibrates so just get a room away from the maintenance. room and the pool.”

“Good location. Maid service was unwilling to work around our schedule. Wanted to service the room before 9am.Sorry with 2 kids under 3 it doesn't work out that way. When we asked the front desk to bring up towels, they were also unable to meet the request "they were the only person on duty at the time. As of Jan. 2008, the carpet in the room was in dire need of being replaced. There were signs posted around the property stating this location was remodeling and this is on their plans.”

- The complimentary breakfast was one of the best Ive ever received in all of my travels.
- Room was small, but clean. Ice maker was on a different floor.

- The lady at the front desk on the PM of 8/31 understood our frustration with the location of the hotel & smell of smoke in the NS room.
- The location, the cleanliness of the room, the smell of the room.
“We arrived to a non-smoking room which smelled heavily of smoke. My child has asthma so this was completely unacceptable. We left the Baymont Inn for a Holiday Inn Express down the road.”

- The attitude of the janitorial staff.
“Overall, the hotel was great, the only problem we encountered was the general attitude of the locals and those who were staying in the hotel with us. They acted like they were scared of my boyfriend just because he was a black man. Too much racial tension in the area for me to ever want to return on vacation or otherwise.”

- The hotel was very nice overall. Friendly staff, great location.
- The room could have been much cleaner. The bathroom smelled like mold and mildew.
“This hotel was pretty good for the amount of money we spent. The room wasn't as clean as I would've liked. The bathroom smelled like mildew and the carpet needs to be shampooed. My 10-month old son got really dirty crawling around on the floor. But everything else was nice. The breakfast was good, except for our second day there, the waffle maker was out of order and a Danish that my husband started to eat had mold on it. But, all-in-all, we had a very nice family vacation. The pool was great for the kids and was open long hours, which was nice.”

- The staff used the price we paid as leverage not to get into the room sooner.
“I got into Wilmington after driving all night long and into the day about 8:30am and asked if I could get into our room a little sooner. I was truly exhausted. I knew that many people had left the hotel and. There were many vacancies but. The staff there that morning actually stated lets see. And after checking the rostra stated to me that for the price I paid that that wasn't possible.”

“The hotel was clean and in a good location. I did not like the fact that you had to take an elevator that was exposed to the elements. That was a real negative. Staff was friendly. - I chose this hotel specifically because of the great breakfast area.
- Nothing. Stayed here several times, fully met my expectations.
“Great place for the money, met my needs for facilities, location, costs, and friendly staff. Would have liked a workout area onsite, but they offer a workout facility 12 minutes away.”

- They took our credit card and said we had not paid -- we thought we had paid online.
- I did not like that they took our credit card after we had paid on line.
“It would have been fine except they had no way to know that we had paid on line- so we had to give them our credit card.”

- Staff was very friendly.
- Carpet needs to be cleaned.
“Not too expensive and only about 5 or so minutes from wrights vile beach. and close to market st which takes you downtown for night life.”

- Convenient location, friendly people, nice breakfast.
- Small rooms.
“This hotel was not as nice as I expected. The rooms were small. The location was good and the staff was helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good and well looked after by the staff.”

- Location and facilities...very nice.
- Can't think of anything negative that I experienced.
“The Baymont Inn/Suites was a good value for the money. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is really convenient to Wrightsville Beach and a large selection of restaurants. I would recommend a stay at this location.”

- Quiet room, centrally located, and not located on Market Street.
- Dirty towels and toiletries in room upon check in.
“Will rebook with this hotel in the future. Nice outdoor pool and clean lobby with continental breakfast and free newspaper.”
