• The beds are so soft and great.
• The AC did not blow out cold air.

“I have stayed at this hotels lots of time in the past. This past stay was not like any other stay that I had. I had bugs coming in from the door also my AC in the room did not work.”

• The front desk staff were very helpful!

• Called the hotel to request room preference, was told by clerk would be upgraded to Jacuzzi room, upon arriving was not upgraded.

• Very convenient to many types of restaurants & right behind Wal-mart.
• On-site restaurant should be full service all day, instead of breakfast only.

“My sister and I came here for a girl's weekend, and had a fabulous time. It is centrally located, close to many restaurants, great shopping: Wal-mart, Target, and Mayfair Town Center. The hotel staff was mostly friendly and accommodating, and the hotel itself was very quiet. There were two computer stations available for use, which came in handy for directions, etc. The breakfast buffet was very nice, and the hostess was quite pleasant. Overall it was a wonderful experience!”

• The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful.
• Wireless service to slow for some applications. Needs updating.

“The staff is friendly and will try to help if they can. The hotel only has breakfast on site but is within walking distance of several options for dinner and lunch. The lobby could use an update. The wireless service is fine for mail but lags too much with complex applications and gaming. A small fridge in the room would be nice for those left over carried back. The vanity area is a bit cramped but over all an excellent stay!”

• The room came with the comfiest king bed and a sweet flat panel TV!
• We were on the ground level, so our patio door led right to the parking lot.

“This hotel exceeded all of my girlfriend and mines expectations. It was cleaned excessively. The staff was nice, friendly, and willing to help you find a restaurant, good spot on the beach, and bar to get hammered in. As well as the comfy beds, sweet TV, and fast WiFi internet. We are moving to Wilmington and needed a home base as we looked for a house, but if we ever need a good spot in town or to put friends up this will be it. No question about that!”

• The bed was clean and comfortable, nice bedding.
• No low price breakfast items offered, menu items were about same price as buffet price.

• I liked the color scheme of the rooms and lobby. I liked the comfort of the bed.
• For the price, I have no complaints.

“I would have no reservations (excuse the pun) about recommending the Courtyard by Marriott. This location (in Wilmington off of New Center Drive) lived up to the Marriott reputation for its quality and service and extras.”

• Cleanliness was excellent. Convenient location.
• Air conditioner/heater was a window unit loud and out of date. Needs replacing with something that has a thermostat.

“Excellent hotel, clean and in a convenient location. Needs new AC/heater system for rooms. The window units are loud and do not work well. There is no thermostat to set the desired temperature.”

• The location was accessible from highway and to points of interest.
• The room was pretty small and the" King" was actually a Queen size bed.

• Friendly, clean, convenient.
• For sanitary reasons, they should have plastic, individual wrapped cups in the room, instead of glass ones. I heard of horror stories.

“Hotel was 2.5 stars, friendly staff, clean rooms and convenient location. I wish they had disposable individual wrapped cups instead of glass for sanitary reasons. Double sinks would be nice when 2 people are getting ready in a hurry but all in all everything was fine. New pillows would be good too!”

• Convenience and cleanliness.
• Housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:30AM and 10AM on checkout day. Checkout time was 12PM. They were rushing us to get out.

“Excellent location but it is difficult to find from the main roads. They need better signage because it is hidden. Housekeeping staff should not come to the rooms on the checkout day until customers are checked out. Overall it is an excellent hotel and a great value.”

• There weren't any.

“I loved this hotel because everything were in place, very convenient to everything but far above anything that I loved the most because it was the first hotel that I stayed in that was smoke free and the TV just spoiled me. I never had a TV in any hotel that played as good as that one and are a wide screen one. I would greatly love to stay there again if Im ever in Wilmington again. The bed was wonderful and the carpet was so fresh looking. You really keep things so neat. Keep up the good work.”

• Dirty, broken faucet, moldy smell, and uncomfortable bed.

“Had to change rooms, first room had a sink that would not shut off and the bed was so saggy it forced you to roll to the center. The new room had a strong moldy smell and a bathtub drain which was broken. Found black curly hairs in the bathroom which were not ours since we are all blonde.”

• I felt the hotel was in a great location for restaurants, beaches and historic downtown.
• Our walls were a bit thin, we heard the party of teenage girls rooming next door singing a karaoke rendition of I will survive".

“I found the front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful. We were not familiar with the area and they provided useful information regarding dining, attractions, and directions complete with maps! We also enjoyed the coffee and cookies at check in. The walls are a wee thin, and the doors slam when leaving. But, all in all a good place to stay. I would stay again.”

“This hotel is clean, comfortable and easy to locate right off college road. It's a fairly short distance from downtown, and the staff is very helpful with locating attractions in the area. Its only limitation is that it does not include breakfast, but it does have an in room refrigerator and microwave for food storage and preparation. Overall, a great experience.”

• I liked the design, with the pool in a central courtyard, nicely landscaped.
• I did not like the "marble" in the shower- at first I thought it was dirty stained, but it was made to look that way!

“Very clean, with nice public areas. Nicely landscaped central courtyard pool area with small pool, however the spa had some green staining. The staff was attentive and helpful. While comfortable, the pillows/comforters weren't luxurious. The rooms were very comfortable though quite small. I was surprised to find the TV didn't have a DVD or VCR. The ground floor rooms have sliding outside doors instead of the usual nonfunctional windows. Although we didn't use the doors (since I didn't notice them at first) you could use them to move things from your car to your room without having to keep unlocking the hallway entry door into the hotel. It was very quiet.”

• The front desk staff was friendly and they had a decent gym.
• The hotel did not have an Ethernet line for my laptop.

“It's easy to leave the hotel but if you are on college St. trying to get there be prepared to cut through a car dealership or make a u turn. It is in a good location as far as proximity to businesses, the college and the airport. The hotel was installing flat panel TVs while I was there. Housekeeping did not replenish my soaps when they cleaned.”

• I liked the location - near restaurants and shopping.
• The dining area was more conducive to dine in guests. Brought leftovers from dinner downstairs to warm. Had to find staff to give me needed utensils.

“The hotel is well decorated and the pool area is very pleasant. Also the garden is stress relieving. A refrigerator in the room would have been great to keep beverages in.”

• I did not like the location for a leisure trip. Would have rather stayed near the river.

• Lovely courtyard.
• Difficult to reach from divided highway. Very slow web access, limited bandwidth. Drain in bath didn't work.

“This is a standard Courtyard by Marriott. The inner courtyard and pool area was nicely landscaped. There is a second floor. The air conditioning was very loud in the room and the internet bandwidth sparse.”

• Hotel was clean; staff was great, close to downtown. Plenty of parking spaces. Free coffee in the lobby and wireless internet throughout the hotel.
• A little far from the beaches. About 30 min drive in the morning traffic.

“Another nice and clean hotel by Marriott. Hotel is close to everything. Grocery stores, Wal-Mart (walking distance), CVS, plenty of restaurants (O'Charley, Olive Garden within walking dist). Plenty of free parking all around hotel, free coffee (lobby), touch screen computer (behind the lobby) with information about the city, community, beaches, restaurants, places of interest, ferry rides rates and schedules. Free wireless internet, microwave refrigerator (available by request) inside the room. We stayed there on weekends, it was quiet all night, weren't bothered by drunk and loud occupants or anything like that. About 30-40 minutes of drive to Carolina Beach in the morning traffic.”

“Usually, Marriot Courtyard facilities have excellent beds. This was a cheap mattress that was below average in comfort. The room was very small and the bathroom toilet did not work on check in. They did fix it the next day. Not a bad hotel, but below normal Marriott Courtyard standards.”
