• Lots of noise from the guests walking on the floor above.

“This hotel provides a basic place to stay for a reasonable price. It was convenient having a fridge, microwave, and free wireless internet. It's within 10 minutes of Wrightsville Beach. We requested and were given a non-smoking, pet friendly room. Although the decor isn't the most modern, it was still clean. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping the room clean, as we did track in sand from the beach. The only complaint I'd have is that if you are on the bottom floor and have people staying above you, you will hear them walking around. If you're traveling on a budget, I'd recommend this hotel. If you're not a budget traveler, I'd choose a different hotel.”

“The first room we got smelled horrible - not to mention the next door room did not even have windows- it was covered in plastic. So we requested a new room - only to be given the room on the other side of the recently broken into room! The electrical outlets kept needing to be reset in order to run the coffee pot and the hairdryer- we didn't sleep well wondering if our car would still be there in the morning!”

• Internet said check after 2:00pm. It was after 4:00pm. We arrived at 9:00am.

“The hotel was clean and the location was great. I didn't like the fact that we could not check in after 2:00pm. However, when we arrived the clerk told us we couldn't check in until after 4:00pm. When you have traveled, need a shower, and a nap a 4:00pm check time, I think, its too late in the day.”

• Cramped, small old TV, the bathroom door opened on the bed, the entry door did not close by itself.

• The room smelled like sweet mold.

“We needed a place to check in around 11pm, and out by 8. For this purpose, this hotel was great. The room was very clean, but it had this "sweet mold" smell that your nose just does not get used to. The staff was very friendly, the neighborhood is fine.”

• Pricing was right.
• Need to have move non-smoking rooms available. I have kids and the smoking room was all they had to offer.

“The hotel seemed nice. I really did not like the fact that there were no non-smoking rooms available. My family smelled like ash trays. We went to the store to get air fresheners and air sprays for the room. I got a head ache from the stale smoke sent in the room.”

• Walking distance to good restaurants next door. Sticky fingers.
• Had to wait for room inspection to check in, then gummy bears were on the floor in plain sight. Don't like pet friendly motels.

“Have always avoided Days Inns for comfort suites, Drury and Hilton. After this experience at DI, will probably stay at ones again, if pets aren't allowed.”

• The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean, nothing special but nothing bad.
• The street it was on gets very busy and its annoying to get in and out of it.

“For a night it was okay. If you just needed a place to take a nap as i did. everything about the hotel was old. the cleaning team needs to be replaced. would not recommend the hotel.”

• The a/c worked.
• The room smelled moldy, the sheets were old and stained.

“I did not care for this hotel, the beds were hard, the room smelled moldy, the carpet was stained, the room was too small and I had to drag my luggage up outside cement stairs to access my room. Also, there was no where to sit down outside if you wanted to have a cup of coffee and read the paper. I asked maid service for extra creamer and they asked if they could "skip" cleaning my room for the day. Very weird.”

• The room was outdated. Room temp hard to regulate. Front desk staff not friendly. I was happy I was there for just one night. I will never go back.

“I was unhappy and will never recommend to anyone! The hotel was not a 2 star hotel and I had a real sense of fear around my stay. Their were a number of "shady" men loitering around the hotel.”

• The staff was helpful and friendly in person.
• It did not seem too safe, beds were very uncomfortable, somewhat dirty and the room was musty/stinky even with ac on.

“I was disappointed with the value for the money I paid. I was expecting something a little cleaner and something that was a little safer. My family called this hotel a dive and my wife called it a hole in the wall. It met our needs and was a good character building experience for us all. So not all was lost.”

“Once I found out I was staying at this hotel. I continued to feel unsafe throughout my stay. A fire could've started with the unsafe outlet, water leaking from the toilet required towels.”

“The room really had a bad odor there was a huge roach that I had to kill as I entered the room. This was your typical Days inn that is just another old renovated motel. If I would have had my family with me, I would have not allowed them to stay at this motel! I know someone with the Days inn will see my review and they will use the system to write another review to rebate mine, so take it for what it's worth. I know that I would never allow my family to stay there.”

“We arrived to a thick security window that the clerk passed our key under. Although we reserved a non-smoking room we were told that there were none available so we were given a smoking room! When we got to the room it smelled horrible and we were distressed to find only a double bed. I was uncomfortable throughout the whole night and hardly slept at all.”

• The rooms were nice. Microwave and refrigerator in the room. Didn't smell like smoke or anything. Great location.
• Toilet took forever before you could flush again. Outdoor corridor.

“The front desk staff was extremely nice, although the housekeepers were kind of rude. The hotel is in a great location and the rooms were clean and set up nicely. I was a little nervous when we pulled up just because it's outside corridors but when we got into our room it was very nice. ”

• One night twenty - something's had a really loud party 1:30-3:30 in the morning . Was not hotel's fault. Just the wrong people.

• Location was too far from downtown.

“The hotel was okay, not as bad as some of the previous reviews led me to believe. Seems like it had recently been updated/remodeled. It is an inexpensive economy motel. I would give it 1-star (not 2 as it was rated at the time of this writing). There was a decent pool for the kids; the location was too far from downtown Wilmington on a main drag. There were plenty of restaurants close by though.”

• The bathroom and vanity sink, mirror was clean.
• The rug in-between the beds smelled like pee. The sheets were toilet-paper thin.

“This hotel, for the Wilmington business area, needs to be updated. The restaurant/lobby smelled like smoke and pee. It's a turnoff. Didn't even sleep under the sheets. Brought my own blanket from home and slept under that.”

• It wasn't crowded and the pool was private.
• The cable TV was fuzzy.

“Overall my experience at this hotel was enjoyable. The room was quiet and clean. My only complaint was that the cable TV was a little fuzzy. The location was great as it was close to several restaurants and within 10 minutes of Wrights vile Beach. It was nice staying near the beach but far enough away that you didn't have to hear the traffic all night. I enjoyed the fact that the pool wasn't visible from the street.”

“This hotel is central to the highway, dining, shopping, movies etc. But, there were bullet holes in the glass of the hotel front, a policeman in his car at night for safety, locked front door at dark where you had to place items in a tray to get them inside. All of these things led myself and my female friend to feel completely unsafe. They also had us right by the pool and kids were screaming and partying until well after 11pm. We came to town to scuba dive the next morning and got no sleep. The air conditioners were leaking so badly we had to use towels to absorb the moisture. The quality was sub par Now, my friend left her I pod in the room after checkout and the hotel safely returned her items via FedEx The service was good, the facility needs on overhaul though.”

“This hotel is not a 2 star hotel. At best it is a 1 star. The bottom bed sheet had hair on it and there were wash clothes from a previous user in the bathroom. It was disgusting!”

• Very good location, its in the middle of everything! Free wireless.
• My room smelled musky! TV reception was real poor.

“Stayed two nights in two different rooms because some guest had specifically requested my room during reservation. The first room smelled clean but TV reception was awful. The second room smelled musky and didn't give you a feeling of overall cleanliness, but the TV reception was better. Preferred not to stay there anymore.”

• The rooms were very clean and the AM staff excellent......PM not accountable.
• The patrons were largely 'truckers' and we were unable to use the pool because of drinking, etc.

“Our daughters were unable to use the pool as well because of the numerous amounts of alcohol and trucker type atmosphere. No families were able to get to the pool because of the situation. This was hugely upsetting because we were there for a vacation break.”

• Location relative interstate, restaurants; good bath facilities and cleanliness
• No under curtains! Overly dark room. TV picture quality very poor-unusable; room size very small.

“We were extremely disappointed in the quality of the Wilmington Day's Inn. The TV picture quality made the set virtually unusable. Without any under curtains, the opaque drapes always had to be kept closed for any privacy; thus, the lights had to be on during the entire day when occupied. The size of the room was small; the furnishings other than the bed were minimal. For the price we felt we overpaid, significantly.”

• I like how clean it was. There were no bugs( ants, flies etc). And quiet.
• Need a little more lighting around the back. It was kind of dark.

“Overall it was a very good hotel. It was very clean. And I like the fact that they change their mattress around during the different seasons. I was surprised when I pulled the sheets back to look at the mattress and saw the months April, May, June sewn on . That was a comfort because that lets me know that thy clean the mattress.”
