“Great location to the airport, shopping, and delivery of foods. Fantastic rooms with the best sleeping in town for the stars of the hotel. Front desk is wonderful and deliver great service. Indoor pool and hot tub.”

• Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced.
• Newly refurbished, but maintenance issues and slow staff mar.

“The Doubletree is a refurbished 70's style hotel; the rooms are modern and comfortable, but there are parts of the hotels still stuck in the 70's. The dim, dank hallways are a put-off, and there seemed to be a lot of small maintenance issues, like broken toilet handles, missing irons (both rooms), stuck windows, etc. The absurd breakfast buffet is badly over-priced and uniformly poor quality; $12 a head for a buffet that's not as good as what's offered for free at competitive chains. Staff seems uniformly slow - it took 2 phone calls, 1 visit to the front desk, and 2 hours to obtain an clothes iron.”

• The room was spacious and surprised us greatly!
• Restaurant service wasn't great and the main carpet was old.

“We love this hotel. It is huge and has marble floors in the lobby. wow. The first impression is great. We also loved being next to walmart and IHOP.They were also installing Hd FLAT SCREEN TVs as we were checking out.”

“Bid on hotel prices in Charlotteville and was please to be accepted at Double Tree. My husband and I consulted them when preparing for our wedding reception and they were courteous and helpful then as well as now. Clean hotel, good location, great beds! Definitely at the top of my list for area hotels!”

• No parking or standing to unload suitcases.

“The only negative was turning on the shower, but a maid was nearby and she instructed us to pull very hard on the handle to start the shower. Maybe in room instructions would be better, especially if you arrive late and housekeeping is not around.”

• Service at the restaurant was terrible.

“Spacious and nicely decorated lobby. Clean facility overall. Pool was nice and the staff had no problem with the pizza we brought in for dinner. The gym facility has decent equipment. Rooms were comfortable and clean.”

• Comfortable, great location and
  clean.

“Overall, this is a nice hotel with comfortable rooms. Our room was on the first floor which is below the main entrance floor. We were near the maid's work area and there were piles of dirty sheets in the hall near our room. I can't complain about the hotel itself. The room was comfortable and clean, nicely decorated. It was quiet too since there didn't seem to be anyone else stating near us.”

• Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere - expect lots of kids.
• Nothing significant. Pretty far from new medical district and downtown.

“Pleasant atmosphere with very friendly staff. Nice amenities with the exception of the moldy or corroded air conditioning vents. With an indoor pool, expect lots of small kids so not conducive to adult use (I didn't use it, but may be a factor to those who enjoy a hot tub or pool).”

“The halls were dirty with a stale odor. We received only 1 small cake of soap and noticed others were receiving specialty lotions & face washes. The 2nd day we didn't receive any washcloths & the front desk apologized because the complimentary cookies were out of stock both days of our stay.”

• Lobby was nicely furnished and attractive.
• No refrigerator available in the room.

“This hotel was easy to find off the main road and has plenty of parking. The spacious lobby was beautifully furnished and there was a great view from the restaurant. I did not use the pool due to time constraints, but the pool area looked very inviting. The staff at the front desk was very professional and helpful.”

“This was a very nice, clean, friendly hotel. Towels and sheets were magnificent. Rooms and hallways were clean. The front desk went out of their way to see that all needs were met. Quality of the food at the Sunday breakfast buffet was truly better than most. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Only problem was my wife loved the Doubletree heavenly bed, sheets, and pillows so much I'm going to have to buy them for home. It truly was a heavenly bed! Thanks Priceline can't wait to do it again.”

• I passed the entryway (driveway for the hotel) several times before finding it. Sign location may need to be moved.

“This Doubletree hotel has the most comfortable beds I've found in a hotel in a long time. Four pillows per bed was a welcome touch. The pool, while small, is enclosed and inviting enabling all weather activities. The exercise room is well equipped and close. The hotel is small enough that nothing is very far away.”

“Everyone from the driver to the hotel receptionist was extremely helpful and cordial. The room was in an impeccable condition when we arrived and the staff made sure to keep it so throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel for to anyone visiting C-ville.”

• Hospitality, if you stay there a lot they know your name.
• I got a different front desk person who did not use the 10 service.

“Great hotel. Front desk is usually great. This time was just ok. This time, however, front desk person went through the word - track it seemed, did not smile or make eye contact, and did not give me the warm cookie or ask if I needed a wake - up call. Usually they do these items well.”

• Front desk clerks are excellent.
• They allow smokers to smoke around the front entrance. I have allergies to smoke and it was not fun.

• The staff was not helpful; it took a very long time to check-in and checkout; it was noisy and loud through the night and early morning.

“Upon arriving at the hotel, it took a long time to check-in before anyone could assist me, even though there was no one else in line ahead of me, and there were three staff members at the desk. It was the same upon checking out. More importantly, the walls of the hotel room were so thin that I could hear the neighboring guests' sneezes, conversations, and worst of all, their TVs (esp. when turned on at 4 in the morning)- so their insomnia became mine!”
