• Lobby area beyond the hotel check in, relaxed atmosphere, very nice feeling to it.
• No map in the booklet and this place needs one, pay extra for breakfast.

“One of my favorites. A very warm relaxed elegant place. While not huge, it has everything you want and need, and a very nice lobby with a gas fireplace, plenty of seating and Christmas tree (it was Christmas time of year). Breakfast is extra. Coffee, tea and liquid creamer available 24 hours. If you are traveling with older kids, you can escape to the lobby for reading, enjoying the fireplace or watching football on the big screen at the other end. Hotel personnel at nice happy and pleasant. In the room a single double bed and a fold out couch were excellent. Room service is provided by a off site location and can be billed to the room. It was fine. You don't have to use the lobby entrance as there are two entrances on each branch. My recommendation was to include a map of the hotel in the book. It has a neat pull out computer table and you have ethernet available, cord supplied in room. Location to University of VA is excellent as well as the shopping areas, RT 29, and 64.”

• It was a bit noisy at times.

“Lovely Courtyard Marriot with good access to room and parking. It was well kept, clean, and friendly. I liked it. If others are bouncing balls, or let doors slam, you can hear it. However, at night, it was quiet.”

• The toilet was pushed into a corner of the bathroom making it difficult to use.

• Beds were wonderful!
• Pool over chlorinated to the point of pain.

“The staff was rude, uncooperative and downright Nasty (particularly the clerk who checked us in and the restaurant server.) The room was safe, clean and comfortable. Restaurant breakfast was fine, nothing special and very expensive for a Courtyard.”

• Well situated, modern rooms well trained staff.
• Security guards kicking us out of pool at 11pm when quiet.

“Marriott does it again. Super comfortable mattresses, excellent heating/ac/ very reasonably priced hot breakfast, always brewing coffee. Excellent free computers connected to printers in lobby. One of the best Marriotts Ive stayed at, and Im a Silver Elite.”

• It is clean and conveniently located. The staff was very responsive.
• The individual heating units in the room are a bit outdated.

“At first glance it seemed quite far away from the campus and historic Downtown, but the driving to these places takes about 5 10 minutes and there is a wide array of restaurants that are located within 5 min driving of the hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean.”

• Front desk staff was outstanding.
• Somewhat difficult to find location.

“Excellent value and experience with staff and overall quality; facilities were absolutely in line with expectations of a courtyard property but the staff made it one of the best hotels we stayed at. We were greeted promptly, given verbal and written directions to tourist sites locally, and even chatted about what brought us to the hotel on this occasion. The staff could not have been nicer and the experience overall should bump up the star rating to at least a "3" from "2.5".”

“Rooms were clean, but out of three rooms only mine had a fridge all rooms were equipped for them. My mother, who traveled with us, is diabetic and truly needed refrigeration for her insulin. Fortunately, my room was next door. The breakfast was exorbitantly overpriced! All in all, it was ok. I travel to c'ville frequently, and frankly, would not stay there again unless all hotels were full, as they were last weekend.”

• Some rooms were under renovation.

“The room contained a large desk with a wired, free internet connection - connection cable provided. Furniture quality was very good, 2 queen beds fit into the large room comfortably. High quality linens. Had small indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Room renovations had some workers milling about which made us slightly uncomfortable. Only 1 elevator in this 2 story hotel; the elevator was far away from our room (200+ feet). Would stay there again.”

• The beds were comfortable. There were lots of pillows.
• No room service for breakfast.

• Discontinued room service 30 minutes early. No TV channel guide.

“Could not access internet from room. Hotel contracts out for internet service so no in person assistance available. Waited on hold until annoyed with contracted internet. Not super convenient for late check in. No vending machines/soda on each floor - lobby only. Unsafe side entrances for single females - and clerk announced room number as well.”

• Clean hotel in easy to access location.
• Staff messed up our credit card info.

“The room was pretty clean, although a little small and awkwardly designed. What we really loved was not-American lamp switches! It is not in walking distance from downtown, but right on 29 and across the street from Whole Foods, so the location is very decent. The stuff was friendly, but not quite organized and professional. They messed up our credit cards. Fortunately, it turned out alright (so far).”

• I loved the location.
• Check in is far too late.

“It's really not fair (to me) to only allow me a room for 8 hours. Your checking is at 4pm and checkout at 12pm. This was very inconvenient given that we arrived in Charlottesville at 1pm.”

• It was very clean and everything looked new.
• Difficult to get to the lobby from my room.

“The cleanest hotel I have stayed it. The bed was very comfortable and the lobby was very nice with a free use pc and wireless as well as wired high speed internet in the rooms. I did however have a hard time getting to the lobby from my room. ”

• I liked the indoor spa facilities--pool and hot tub.
• It was tricky to Navigate your way around this hotel--no obvious elevators.

“The courtyard Marriott in Charlottesville, va is an excellent place to stay. It's right in the center of Charlottesville and within walking distance of the mall yet, far enough from the highway for a peaceful night's sleep. The hotel itself is a bit tricky to Navigate but, has quite a few amenities including 24/7 coffee, tea and cocoa, cookies, indoor pool and hot tub, work-out facilities and a reasonably priced buffet breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• Very nice hotel. Exceeded the star rating.
• To get two doubles, it cost extra.

“This was a very nice hotel with an indoor pool. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly. My only complaints are that the room had one king bed and a pullout sofa. There was an extra charge for two double beds. Also, they did not have a continental breakfast. There was a breakfast buffet for a pricey charge. Also, it was several miles from the interstate. Not sure if I would stay there again or not. But for the money, it was a nice hotel.”

• The level of quality received for the price was definitely a plus.
• They canceled my access card twice, and gave no reason. Walking to the front entrance in the cold was no fun.

“This is a moderate hotel in a convenient location. I like the fact that it has free high speed Internet and helpful staff. Although there was no refrigerator or microwave in my room, it was provided for me when I asked. ”

• Bed was comfortable, adult beverages were available to take to the room.
• The fitted sheet on the bed had several cigarette holes, in what was supposed to be a non-smoking room.

“With the exception of the holes in the sheet, the inattentiveness of the waitress at breakfast and the high priced, low quality of the meal, the room was comfortable.”
