“Extremely convenient to UVA, shops and restaurants. Very spacious and clean room with full kitchen, sitting area and work table with free internet. Gym on location was fine. Would definitely stay again.” Oct 22, 2009 by
BR from Arlington,VA
“Hotel is just above Barracks Row shopping center, north of UVA campus. Unlike many other major hotels in Charlottesville, there is no sign off Emmett Street to show directions. Hotel staff had problems describing location even though I phoned from shopping center. There was lots of events in town the night I stayed, many police cars, but none of them got out to direct traffic. The result was a traffic headache. The hotel appears new and it's in a quiet neighborhood right next to big shopping center.” Aug 19, 2009 by
Don from Virginia Beach,VA
“Mattress was fairly uncomfortable for a three-star hotel, and was worn to the point of sloping to the center. A/C unit in the closet by the bed provided excess noise while tring to sleep. Other than that, the room was nice.” Jul 22, 2009 by
Jim from Grand Blanc,MI
“Other than not getting the internet service to work in which I lost two days work the stay was good. I called the IT SVCS help desk two different days and they did not call me back until about an hour before I checked out.” Oct 8, 2008 by
gary “The overall best thing about this hotel was the night manager, not only was she friendly, courteous, and professional, but she remembered my name. This has always been a characteristic that gets high marks in my book. For someone to simply remember your name shows respect and common courtesy. She did it, she had it, and for that reason I would rate this hotel highly. Give that woman a raise!” Aug 24, 2008 by
Connie from Belfast, ME
“This was one of our finer hotel experiences. Our room was impeccable and we loved the kitchen. The staff was so helpful and friendly, recommending restaurants, places to see etc. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the servers made us feel right at home. We will definitely visit again.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Topher from Bellefonte, PA
“My wife and young daughter stayed here in Charlottesville, VA to break up a longer trip. The hotel was a great home for a few days and was perfect for all we needed. The kitchen was great, as we could save money by eating in. The hotel staff was friendly and dedicated to their jobs. One employee even grilled in the rain to provide the guests a scheduled hotel - wide barbecue. It's a great location, close to shopping, grocery stores, and local attractions.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Fe from Prospect, KY
“Staff was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The complimentary full breakfast was very good. I will definitely try to stay here again when I go back to Charlottesville in mid July.” Nov 26, 2007 by
Andra from Chatham, NJ
“The hotel was great. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The bed was awesome! And the staffs were extremely friendly and polite. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to friends. Also it was right next to a wonderful shopping area with a large modern grocery store and tons of well-known shops and close to the University of Virginia and the Medical Center (in case of an emergency). Awesome place to stay!” Oct 26, 2007 by
Charles from Hilton Head Island, SC
“Coffee pot was missing first night so we asked desk to replace. Had to request again second night as it was not done. Also sleeper sofa cushions were worn and sagging in the middle of sofa.” Sep 26, 2007 by
Richard from Chalfont, PA
“Excellent new hotel. Very nice hot and cold buffet included in price. Room upgrade was great. Large, clean.” Aug 9, 2007 by

“We enjoyed our stay at the Charlottesville Residence Inn very much. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We expected the standard "free breakfast" of cold pastries and beverages only to be pleasantly surprised by a hot breakfast complete with eggs, biscuits, fruit, waffles, and more! Thank you, we'll be back.” Aug 2, 2007 by
Bob (. from Smithtown, NY
“Clean and friendly. Helpful and courteous.” Jul 25, 2007 by
Denise from Arlington, VA
“The hotel was tastefully decorated and the suite was well-equipped and roomy. Late check-in was no problem and the staff was very accommodating. Our complimentary breakfast was a treat! In the Charlottesville area, this hotel is superb. The location is excellent because it is proximate to Rte. 29 yet set back from congestion. The hotel adjoins a shopping center which has nice stores, grocery and restaurants.” Jul 25, 2007 by
Robbie from Pikeville, KY
“This hotel provided an excellent stay at an exceptional price.” Jul 10, 2007 by
Charles from Charlottesville, VA
“The hotel is great because of three things:1) Location - It is right near Barracks Road shopping center and route 29 close to movies, restaurants, and the University of Virginia's North Grounds (Darden Graduate Business School, Law School, etc.). 2) Free Breakfast and evening snacks - Full buffet breakfast and evening barbecue some days. 3) Spacious - The room was twice the size of what you would expect in the category. It included a full kitchen (large fridge, sitting areas with pull out sofa bed, queen bed, dual sinks, and nice sized bathtub).” Jul 10, 2007 by
Rodger from Timonium, MD
“Very clean property with secure access, but with many steps to the third floor, and a long hike to the elevator.” Apr 8, 2007 by
Bruce from Canberra, Australia
“This is a very good place to stay. I have stayed in this hotel many times, ever since it opened and it is my number one choice in Charlottesville. In fact the only reason I ever stay anywhere else is if the residence inn is fully booked. The suites are a good size, very comfortable and clean. The free breakfast is plain but tasty and filling and a good start to the day. There is really nothing I don't like about this hotel.” Jan 31, 2007 by

“Very pleased. Definetely much nicer than some which are rated higher. Nicer than many 3-stars. Breakfast was good, they had something for everyone.” Dec 28, 2006 by
Peter from Fort Lauderdale, FL
“The nicest employees I have seen in a long time, room was very clean and well thought out. Good use of space in how the room was laid out. Anything you can ever want was in this room! Well maintained and managed property. I will return to this hotel!!!” Dec 22, 2006 by
Stephanie from Christiansburg, VA
“Helpful front desk staff. Very nice location among shopping centers. The breakfast had a waffle station, fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, juices, milk, coffee/tea, and was presented well. One attendant was very nice and offered assistance. She did not understand much English though. Very nice lady! The other breakfast attendant was rude, slamming stuff around, huffing and puffing around. The breakfast was scheduled to end at 10:00 am. Some families came down while they were clearing up and the hateful woman would not even look at them. She did not acknowledge the people standing there looking bewildered. She could have at least said hello and reiterated the breakfast had ended. One employee could not ruin our stay. We'll stay here again!” Dec 22, 2006 by
Danny from Stamford, CT
“The best thing was on the trip down I didn't hit any traffic or get lost so when I arrived it was 12:30 and check in time was 3:00 but still was able to check in. Everyone was friendly and the place was spotless.” Sep 5, 2006 by
Bill from Silver Springs, MD
“Excellent in all respects.” Aug 4, 2006 by
Cindy from Pittsburgh, PA
“The desk clerk was very nice. The hotel was clean and the room was quite nice. The room we stayed in was a 2 bedroom suite and other than the room being a bit cold at night, it was comfortable. The breakfast was very relaxing. The service was friendly and the buffet was quite a feast. I did enjoy the stay there.” Apr 6, 2006 by
Stacy from Ruckersville, VA
“The location was behind barracks road shopping center, which is close to the University of Virginia and in walking distance of restaurants, grocery store and a local bar. The breakfast is great! There is free fast internet service in each room. The rooms are suites only, meaning that they have a small kitchen with everything you need. There is a small outdoor pool available seasonally. The hotel lobby has a small store called 'the market' for sandwiches and anything you may have forgotten. The mattresses are very comfortable! Movies that are still in theaters are available to rent on your TV for approx 12.99.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 4, 2005 by

“I would definitely give this establishment a much higher grade than given. We stayed here 12 days and there was absolutely nothing that was not totally pleasing. The entire staff couldn't have been any nicer and I would highly recommend staying here. Whenever I return to Charlottesville I have every intention of staying there.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 28, 2005 by

“I would definitely give it a higher rating than it was listed at. I can think of nothing that would have made our stay any better. All things were top notch.” Jul 7, 2005 by
