• Beautiful hotel...room was great...big couch and TV linen was really nice.
• Nothing bad to say.

“Very accomodating and efficient hotel staff...needed a quick cab...the staff jumped in and planned it..assured us it would be on time and that we could stay in our room till it arrived...the decor of this Hyatt was really modern...the room was also very comforting...only thing missing here was a wet bar...the couch and TV were so inviting we almost didn't want to go our to our event...lol”

• Coffee splatters on the wall by sink, dirty bathroom floor, security door not locked.

“The bathroom in the room didn't have a toilet seat, the floor was dirty. By the sink on the counter, there coffee splatter stains on the wall that didn't get cleaned. It was very dirty. They never locked the security door, and that frightened me. Other than that, it was what I was expecting out of the hotel.”

“This hotel was just a hotel, but without any of the little irritations of most hotels. The room was immaculate. They had a few nice touches like the fountain out front. The staff was fantastic, they remembered our names and would greet us on the way in and out.

• The only thing likable about this hotel was the price.
• The hotel is Noisy, outdated, unclean.

“This hotel is a 2.5 star at best. The hotel is Noisy, with maids slamming doors and conversing in Spanish early in the morning right outside your door. Sleeping in is impossible. The beds are creaky with tiny pillows and funky smelling blankets. The gym is tiny, the decor of the room was seriously outdated and the balcony door was impossible to open. The only plus was the amount of Channels, the wireless and the decent shower. However, hot water was turned off because of some kind of renovation.”

I would love to stay at this property again with friends and family and would make it my #1 choice for a visit to Richmond. Easily one of the best Wyndham properties I have been in.”

• Excellent room layout and big screen TV!
• Wall mounted a/c units.

“This hotel reminded me of a cousin of the Indigo or W hotels:
Nice and comfortable. The staff was excellent and there are convenient restaurants nearby (Melting Pot, Bahama Breeze, Denny's). There is also a nice sports bar at the next hotel. The rooms are excellent as a remodeled Amerisuites. There is an excellent pit couch, desk and big screen LCD or plasma on a rotating wall mount. You also have the ability to plug in all sort of peripherals via an in wall audio/video jack. My only dig would be the wall mounted heater/air-conditioning units. As a man who spends 8-10 nights a month in a hotel and has for 20 years I find this things noisy and inefficient. They are new and state of the art, it's just a personal preference. I know this is left over from the Amerisuites which in its own right was a pretty good hotel. I highly recommend this place!”

• Substandard staff, unable to check in at kiosk.

“Hotel seems to be in a nice suburban area. The area is reminiscent of a resort town, with a cluster of hotels such as Residence Inn. There's a Denny's right off the parking lot and other restaurants and stores and gas stations close by. I could not check in at the self-service kiosk, so had to go to the front desk. There was only one person at the desk who was on the phone. She actually took another call while I was waiting. I got the key to my room, as well as directions and a map to the mall. The room was well appointed with a sofa in a living area, a gigantic LCD TV, and separate sink by the fridge. Wireless was free and fast. Everything was clean and sheets were very comfortable. At check-out, I had to wait for two employees to finish talking about something as they were sitting at a counter. The employee walked around the front desk as slow as anyone possibly could.”

• I felt like I walked into a metro, contemporary art picture.
• One of the elevators was broken 75% of the time.

“When I walked in the first time, I was immediately taken with the interior decorating and design, it was like walking into Starbuck, and as a matter of fact, they offered star bucks coffee. The rooms were very metro, the beds separated from living room area by a stylish screen, the living room area had a sectional couch with ottoman. The beds were comfortable the bathroom was a little small, but very excusable considering the rest of the room!”

• Beautiful decor, friendly accommodating staff, very near shopping, restaurants, and highway.
• The noisiest hotel room I've ever stayed in.

“Hotel was beautifully decorated and the majority of staff was friendly, efficient and accommodating. Very nice hot breakfast as long as you can eat sausage. There were also plenty of healthy things to choose from. That being said, I will probably never stay there again. It is a competitive world and the experience left something to be desired. I have never in my life stayed in such a noisy hotel; room the staff admitted as much themselves. They said they only rent that room out when they're sold out.”

• Hotel service was lacking. Took clerks a long time to check-in and out.

“Hyatt Place is a nice hotel with modern decor and over sized rooms. They offer enough amenities to meet the basic needs of a leisure or business traveler at an affordable price. I found the service to be lacking but maybe this is to be expected of a 2 1/2 star hotel. The clerks took a long time to check customers in and out or to make purchases. I was also given a handicapped accessible room but was too tired to complain. This made the room awkward for me but overall it suited my needs.”

• Breakfast wasn't good on the morning I ate. Bad selection.

“Very pleased with this hotel. Would not have pick this hotel due to location, but it turned out great. Now that I've stayed here, I will recommend it to others. The staff was wonderful and friendly. The only small complaint is the breakfast. It was pretty much just toast and coffee, but understands from other reviews that this may not always be the case.”

• I really liked the flat screen HDTV in the room.

“This hotel was the best hotel experience I probably have had as far as the hotel itself goes. It was a great place in a great location. The rooms and the decor was awesome and was the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. I especially liked the furniture in the room including the flat screen hi def TV, the e room, the on site gym, and the lobby area. I really liked the fact this hotel was so nice, but still had free parking also (I place free on site parking high on my list of things that make me like a hotel). The staff at this hotel was awesome. Friendly and well trained. This hotel was what a hotel should be.”

• Elevator scare malfunction.

“The front desk receptionist was nice and helped me e check in on the computer. The room was newly renovated and clean. There was a separate sitting room with a couch, but the flat screen TV swiveled so both sides could watch simultaneously. I enjoyed the separate sink outside the bathroom so we could both be getting dressed.”

• Excellent rooms, furniture, amenities including fridge, big plasma TV, room décor.
• Construction was going on a few days and the lobby was noisy and dusty at times.

“Great value for money. The included breakfast is very good; staff was friendly (except for one woman who worked on a certain night - maybe she had a bad day or something). The rooms were color-co-ordinate and gave the feeling of a home than a hotel. There was a living room with large couch (good if you have visitors), a computer/business corner, a sink, fridge, large plasma TV with free HD programming that can be swiveled to the bedroom or living room. Ample parking, overall friendly staff, very close to the freeway - makes this a great value and I'll definitely consider staying here next time I'm in Raleigh. The only thing I did not like was that they were remodeling their lobby and the elevators the weekend I checked in and it was noisy during the daytime and there were construction workers and painters all over and the elevators were slow. But the work almost finished by the time I left and they had a great lobby and quick elevators by the time I left.”

• The beds were very comfortable.
• Lobby under construction.

“This hotel is becoming a Hyatt Place and the rooms have been upgraded to reflect that. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only drawbacks I could see are that the pool was not very big and the lobby is still in the process of being remodeled.”

“The hotel was undergoing renovations, which was fine. The rooms were lovely. The maid left my door unlocked for a whole day and the front desk staff laughed at the situation. Overall, the staff was friendly, but the security or lack of it was untenable.”

“The restaurant crowd loud when they leave if your room is facing that way at 1 am. Loud cars from the apartments behind hotel, seems to taper off at 1 am also.”
