• Great location in downtown Raleigh.
• Horrible plumbing.

“The Sheraton is obviously an older hotel in need of upgrading. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but smelled as if it had been smoked in for years and only recently turned over to non-smoking. The plumbing was horrible - the toilet ran constantly and when flushed, the water would swirl for over a minute - very wasteful with water. There was no bathroom ventilation fan and the shower drain was clogged, so the tub took an hour to drain. At 7 am, we were awakened by children running up and down the hallway and adults yelling back and forth. The doors must have been paper-thin. Because of the noise, we were unable to get any rest. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. One could get a nicer room at the Motel 6 and have a better chance getting some sleep.”

• Convenience store was not open entire weekend - no mini fridge.

“Hotel was under construction during visit. Restaurant were very expensive and both convenience stores were closed all weekend. There was no place to get a snack unless you left the hotel.”

• Room was clean.
• Far more expensive than I thought it would be.

“Located in mid town, only parking was the hotel garage and they charged us $12 to park overnight. Then when leaving there wasn't even an attendant to verify that we had paid anything, could have parked for free I guess but didn't know it when they collected the fee at check in.”

“The hotel was good overall however the fire alarm did go off at 4am for a false alarm. We were not happy about that. But the alarm did work that is for sure. The Light switch in the room we stayed in was crooked (not very appealing).”

• Room was plush and romantic; Workout facilities good.
• Internet was down the entire stay and staff didn't seem to care.

“Excellent hotel compared to other hotels of its rating. The room was plush and had a terrific view of the city's performance arts theater. I loved the HDTV. It was walking distance to lots of restaurants. The exercise facility was adequate enough to enjoy a good workout. I will most assuredly return to this hotel my next trip to Raleigh.”

• Nothing.
• Had to pay to park $10 a day, nasty sheets, unchanged, mold in bathroom, dirty towels.

“The staff was very good about what they had to do to correct issues. They moved us to another room, but that too was not of a 4 star quality. We had to endure hearing some type of ringing all night while we tried to sleep I wish to never stay at this hotel again.”

• When I checked in late I had to walk around building, not enough parking.

“Need more smoking areas for them. I don't like having to walk past smokers when I come in the building. I had room next to stairs, I smelled stinky smoke.”

• Not very much.
• Staff - internet - parking - restaurants.

“Checked in, staff was attempting to charge $25 to banking card due to their rules which is fine but explain first, don't just try to add. They charged $10.00 for parking garage when the garage directly next door was free and would not reimburse. Internet connection in room - but they charge you $10.00 a night - for what the connection ? Restaurants had horrible business hours. Pool and hot tub were very dirty as well as the entire pool area. I would not come back nor would I suggest that you do either. I am usually very easy to please - but this was bad !”

• It is a wonderful location Downtown and comfortable.
• Hot tub/pool was so chlorinated we coughed for hours afterwards. The food was not at all tasty.

• Accommodating--they gave me a room with the view I wanted.
• Having to pay for wireless and parking is ridiculous and medieval. What is this, 1995?

“I was pleased with our room--it was comfortable and clean, and within walking distance of Glenwood and the Fayetteville Street Mall. However, the hotel annoyed me in a lot of ways, too: internet access was a drag ($10/day extra), parking was $10/day, and the outdoor construction woke me early in the morning. Overall, pretty unimpressive.”

• The bathroom fan didn't work properly & was too noisy every time the light was turned on.

• Very good Downtown location.
• No Shuttle or transportation options from the airport, other than taxi.

“Good value for money. Great Downtown location. There were no transportation options to get to the hotel from the airport other than a $40 taxi ride. Hotel was friendly and clean. Great area - no worries walking back to hotel at night. Note it is in the central Downtown area that is currently undergoing a major reconstruction uplift. Several streets and sidewalks in the area are closed to accommodate this. We did not notice much inconvenience from this, nor any overnight noise.”

• The room was big, the bed very comfortable and the desk good size.
• Walking to a really nice restaurant went throuh some seedy areas of town.

“From the hotel clerks to the bell man everyone was very nice and helpful. The lady who worked in the restaurant who was from NY about 26 years old was great. She got a sewing kit for my wife and was super friendly and a good waitress. If we stayed again we would stay here or in the suburbs for convenience.”

• There were so many kids it was not very private or quiet in the common areas. We could not get a peaceful time at the pool.

• It was within walking distance of the Imax.
• Parking and wireless internet access fee of 10$ a day.

“Overall the trip to this hotel was far below what I would have expected. The construction near the hotel had noise going almost all the time. Also sirens could be heard at all time's of the day and night. There is internet access in the travel area but there is only 2 machine's available. There is also a parking fee of 10 dollars a day.”

• Noisy! Too much construction in the vicinity.

“This hotel is located in the middle of a construction area. It was very, very noisy. It took 45 to get a room service order. The cleaning staff did an inadequate job of cleaning our room.”

• Great price and location. Very clean.
• Lobby/Bar is too close to the rooms and open too late.

“Hotel was clean, friendly and very affordable. Had it not been for the ridiculous behavior in the lobby/bar at midnight, this would have been a very pleasant stay. Nearly half of the rooms in the hotel face the open lobby and bar area, which is open way too late. Once the drunks hit midnight they started playing loud music and had little concern or care for anyone that needed to sleep and get up early. After a call down to the desk I was assured the manager would take care of the problem. The noise calmed down about twenty-minutes later. Good for the manager! My complaint is focused on the hours of the bar considering the make-up of the hotel. I will not return.”

• The beds were extremely comfortable and clean with more than enough pillows which is rare.
• I did not like the fact that I was charged extra for parking and that the parking facility was across the street from the hotel with no security.

• There is a lot of construction happening all around the hotel, hard to enter.

“The hotel was very nice on the inside and the room was large and bed was very soft with a lot of pillows. There is a lot of construction happening around the hotel. There is not much noise from the construction but entering the hotel is somewhat difficult. The parking is self parking across the street. There is construction all around Raleigh so it is not really the hotel's fault. Great stay, would highly recommend. Lots of business travelers seemed to stay there.”

• Convenient to downtown, NC Capitol.
• Nothing, shops or restaurants for Saturday a.m. shopping.

“This is a typical downtown hotel. Near the state capitol. The area is extremely dead on weekends, no shopping or dining in the immediate area. The hotel itself is very nice, clean, comfortable.”

“We found the Sheraton staff to be exceedingly helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. Downtown Raleigh is undergoing extensive renovations near the hotel so driving nearby was frustrating. We would like to stay here again after the work is completed.”
