- It was convenient to the airport.
- The condition of the bathroom. Room keys did not work.
“This hotel should not have been rated a 3 star we were unaware that it was under construction the bathroom was dirty, the toilet tank and lid fit improperly the bathroom door did not close all the way, every time we left the room the room key did not work so we had to go to the desk several times. I was not given a proper wake up call so that I could catch my flight and I could have missed it. When we first arrived the remote on the TV did not function. I never want to stay in this hotel again”

- The lobby area was very inviting and gives you a feeling of comfort.
- I did not believe I receive 3 star value here and thought I was overcharged.
“I would definitely rate the hotel as a 2.5 to 2.0 star hotel because of the location and look. The room itself had the look of low rated hotel however, the bed was quite comfortable.”

- The bath part of the shower was kind of broken, made it extra slippery.

“Location was a plus, close to shopping. However area surrounding hotel had several transient people roaming the road into the hotel. Room and hotel were rundown. The shower and the sink would not drain, furnishing much worn. TV was very old and reception was awful.”

- Was clean and staff was very friendly.
- Was under construction. Our toilet ran the entire stay.
“The Holiday Inn is an older hotel, but is very nice for its age. Our room was beautiful and clean, everything was perfect until the toilet let us know that it was going to be the center of attention. I notified the desk that the toilet was running, but it didn't get repaired over the two nights my husband and I were there. I didn't want to switch rooms b/c I didn't won't to move all of our things, so it isn't the entire hotel's fault. Overall the stay was very nice and I would go back.”

- The beds were awful and very uncomfortable. Room smelled like smoke.

- Location was 5 miles from my son's house.
- Rugs were dirty. Bathroom didn't have vent. Sewer gas coming out of sink.
“This is a vintage Holiday Inn. The rooms are generally clean but in need of an upgrade. The in-house restaurant is okay but over-priced with breakfasts running at 10.00 per person including 2.50 for coffee. Location offered no other place to get breakfast on a weekday within miles. Overall, will stay in a Hampton Inn next visit.”

- Convenience, price was right, it met my needs.
- Very busy street and noisy outside could not check in until 3:00 pm.
“It was convenient to my classes I knew my way in that part of time the room was certainly adequate and the staff that I talked to was friendly enough I did not use their amenities and don't know what they were that was not a criteria for me. My main objective is to have clean, attractive rooms in a safe place, particularly when I travel in business. I have no real complaint.”

- Hotel was very dated. Defiantly not a 3 star like.
“This hotel was very old & dated, the bathroom in our room looked like a bathroom you would see in a hospital, no tub & stand up shower with hoses to wash you with. This is defiantly not a 3 star hotel; I would say a 2 or 2.5 star. The area is nice & near the Crabtree valley mall. I would never stay here again or recommend anyone else to stay here.”

- The front desk girl & the manager.
“The hotel could be a little cleaner. The manager and front desk people threaten to call the police at 11:00 am because I was not out of the room. I was told not to come back to the hotel anymore because I was not out the room at 11 am. I've been doing business traveling for approximately. 22 year stayed at over 150 hotels. I've never been treated that bad in my life.”

- I had body fluids on my comforter, not pleasant appearance.
“I would never recommend this hotel to anyone! There were bodily fluid stains on my comforter and it was not slob. I was not contacted by management during my stay to resolve the problem, though I brought the comforter downstairs to the lobby for the staff to see. Horrible, the restaurant did not strike me as being clean or appetizing either. Bathroom was small and the towels thin, and for a room that can accommodate 4 people there are only 3 washcloths placed in the room. Staff that was there seemed like they wanted to be helpful, but when I had an issue it was passed on and I was not contacted.”

- The staff was very well presented, nice uniforms.
- Old, dated, musty smell in spots, too much air freshener in others.
“This hotel is a decent hotel. It is old we stayed in a "renovated" room and you could not tell it. The bathrooms are small and dated the rooms are large, but the furniture is not comfortable. The sheets are way too small for the bed and they kept pulling off in the middle of the night. The rooms were kind of musty smelling but the hallways were just bombarded with air freshener our family coughed and eyes watered every time we got off the elevator. The location of the hotel is good with close proximity to quite a few parks and a large mall. Definitely felt like I got ripped off by paying for a 3 star hotel when it was definitely not. The whole hotel reeked of air freshener if I had paid for a 2 star like this one should have been rated I would have been disappointed but would have thought "you get what you pay for." But I paid much too much for this hotel simply because of the star rating.”

- The hotel staff was extremely rude and disrespectful!
“My overall experience in this hotel was nothing more than horrible. I had an altercation with the front desk staff, mainly one woman who was the rudest and most ignorant person on top of being a liar! As I was calling from my room to address a certain issue, she simply hung up on me and would not answer the phone from my call backs! I spoke to the manager and told him the situation. The hotel is old and looks run down with an overall uninviting appeal! The food at the restaurant was not good at all. Might as well server me a lunch able. I wish to never return to that hotel and will advise my friends and business partners to steer clear of it.”

“Employees were great. Needed to get in room early in order to prepare for a wedding. Personnel made it possible and we made the wedding in our suit and dress in plenty of time. Nice experience. “The amenities look like a 3-star on paper but do not perform as such. This hotel is below average in almost every way: appearance, customer service, towels, aroma, food, etc. For instance, every time I stay there, the sheet comes off the bed during the middle of the night, exposing the bare mattress. The towels are practically seen through. Employees are typically not as friendly as at other hotels in the area.”

- Spacious, clean, attractive room and with efficient room service.
- Ice machines did not work on every floor and need to use slow elevator.
“This hotel is conveniently located downtown Raleigh and near great restaurants and shopping. Staff is cordial and professional. Steak house is excellent and room service is efficient. Rooms are clean and spacious with hi-speed internet. Great for the business traveler.”

- Exercise room, friendly staff.
- Mold in bathroom, very unattractive lobby, building was a little dirty and shabby.
“Low end Holiday Inn. Definitely not 3 star. Location okay. Terrible lobby. Building a little shabby and dirty. Exercise room was good, staff friendly, updated bed linens and comforter. Overall, not a very attractive place to stay. Mold is bathroom tub was a real turn-off as well.”

- Friendly staff, good location, room was very clean.
- My floor (2nd) reeked of mold which they tried to cover with air freshener, bright light outside my window.
“It is somewhat better on the inside than the outside. My floor smelled like mold and the only working ice machine was on the 5th floor. Staff was very helpful and the room was clean. Watch out for that drainage crater in the parking lot. It could seriously damage your car.”
