“Very nice hotel in an area of Myrtle Beach that is close to all the shopping and entertainment, but not right in it. Great pools and location on the beach. Staff was extremely friendly. Rooms were ok, but could use some updating (i.e. paint, carpet, and TV)”

• The beds were very comfortable.
• DO NOT DO THE TIMESHARE PROGRAM. Do not do the timeshare program.

“The Balcony was nice. The hotel itself seemed out of the way. You have to pay for parking and wait on the elevators. The splash park and pool were very busy so you need to get there easy to get a chair. The staff seemed nice. The coffee was good in the room. The hotel is pet friendly! The room could be updated for as much as you pay.”

• Loved the location and having the ocean outside the room.
• It was a little dated and needs refurbished and updated.

“I really loved the space of the rooms and the layout. I think it needs updating, paint, flooring, carpeting etc. The rooms were cleaned very well, they were just a bit worn out.”

• Good location.
• No closet to hang clothes, sand in shower, keys didn't work.

“Not having a closet was inconvenient since we had our clothes on hangers. When I turned the shower on, sand appeared on the shower floor. When we arrived, the door was not completely closed, so when we went out & then returned, our keys did not work. The lobby was pretty, nice pool, and on the beach were the good things.”

• The rooms in the hotel offer a good ocean view.
• The entrance door to the room needs fixing so it can be shut properly.

“This hotel offers quite a bit in term of amenities. Unfortunately because of poor maintenance, one cannot enjoy them fully. The hallways need new carpeting.”

• Awesome bellhops, they were very informative.
• The housekeeper did not speak English.

“This is a very elegant hotel. It's very appealing to the eye. The linen is very plush. Having a microwave and mini fridge in the room was great.”

• When first room was smoky we were quickly moved to a smoke-free room, a little larger & with a better view.
• Initially smoky room. The bath was small and not 4 star quality. No robes in closet.

“The room had a strange outside entrance so you went from A.C. comfort to a strip outside the doors like a motel, but it was worth it to be in the nicer room. I was concerned about some comments on dirty rooms but ours was beautiful, fluffy clean towels, down comforters, and great ocean view. Because the bathroom was a little small and the outside entrance was odd I wouldn't rate a 4 star. A.”

• Very nice lobby.
• I did not like their guest room at the Royal palms (room designed strictly for a handicapped person) There was no couch and not what I expected.

“I would rate this hotel very poor because of the bad room that I was placed in. My wife complained the whole time we were there about the accommodations which made the stay even more unbearable. I don't envision staying there again or recommending it to anyone.”

• Concierge staff was excellent, both front door and pool.
• Not so much the hotel - but we did not expect to see as many children/families in a 4-star.

“The hotel was very nice and spacious. Although casual atmosphere prevailed due to pool and beach access. Be prepared for kids! Pool concierge was very attentive - love the Cabanas for a little privacy and shade. I'd go back again - maybe when the kids are in school.”

• I loved our view from our room. House keeping ladies were pleasant and so was the cook during breakfast.
• During breakfast buffet too many flies on the open fruit platter & food.

“I was a bit discouraged in the very beginning, due to the reservation department. I was very surprised in the lack of quality customer service I was provided. Once in the hotel the overall experience was nice.”

• It was beautiful and right in front of the beach.
• The room was quite tiny for the price.

“I really enjoyed my stay, the room was too small and you had to bend over the balcony and look to your right to see the ocean. Other than those two things I enjoyed my time there.”

• The accommodations were good, but the health club/tennis facility were very good.
• The beach view that I requested was a partial view at best and the balcony and furniture was not clean and attractive.

“This is not a four star resort. That said, the room was clean and comfortable, if small. One major complaint is the noise associated with the air conditioning unit; very loud and intrusive. The location is good and the beach is not crowded with plenty of room to spread out. Forget the pool area unless you like very loud music and large crowds. Overall, better than average hotel.”

• The hotel was located in the classier section, slightly tucked away and off the beaten path, which was great!
• You could see the ocean & beach from our room but it wasn't a full-on ocean view.

“The hotel was top-notch, very classy. The decor was great and the rooms were just a nice and very clean - which is a plus! The bathroom was super-spacious and although we didn't opt for the luxury lines, the bedding was extremely comfortable. My only complaint was not having the full ocean view, even though the ocean was easy to see from our balcony. Lastly, it took no time to reach Broadway by the Beach, which is one of our favorite spots - we'll stay here again!”

• Beautiful hotel - very new.
• Not a very good view of the ocean.

“The hotel is connected to the Hilton by a long corridor and although the Palms had a desk of sorts, you had to go to the Hilton for any questions or to talk to concierge or the desk. No one to help us with our bags, either since the handlers stayed at the Hilton and no one was at the Royale Palms.”

• View from the room, was described as ocean view. Had to lean out balcony to see ocean.

“This Hilton "Resort" should be very ashamed of itself. The room was filthy and as of 9PM on the second day there had been no room cleaning. I finally had to go to the lobby and demand towels! The hotel is extremely noisy and the staff is no willing to do anything about the kids running and screaming in the halls until 1AM! I would never stay there again and will do everything I can to discourage others from making the same mistake I did. If you think you are booking a 4 star resort, you will be very disappointed! Motel 6 does a better job and is ten times cheaper. Save you money!”

• No view of the sunrise or the sunset.

“The service was excellent as was the quality of the food. I would have liked to have had a room near the elevators since these few rooms would have had an unobstructed view of the ocean with the sunrise and sunset. My room had a pleasant view but only a wedge of a view of the ocean. I like to see the ocean that is why I booked here.”

“My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. We loved the room and the area. It is a little bit away from the main attractions but we liked that. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful and it had a beautiful view.”

• The only complaint we had was the climate control - it was either too cold or too hot.

“I had never stayed in a hotel as nice as this one before but I was simply amazed at how nice it is. I stayed on the 7th floor on a corner room and the view was spectacular. I would definitely stay in this hotel again!”

• Some of the staff needs to get out of hospitality industry.

“The hotel location is great unfortunately the 1st room we got into had dripping water from the bathroom ceiling and radio wasn't working. One guy was going to move us same night but one of the women he was working with stopped him from doing so. We moved to a better room the next day.”

• It was on the beach; Had two pools, and bar at pool.
• Room decor was drab, could be updated, TV needed to be replaced.

“The hotel staff was the only good thing about this hotel. The room was all the way down the hall and looked like the door had been kicked in and then glued back together. The number was missing off of the door, and the outside light was not lit. I was really nervous to even open the door, the hall to the room was littered with trash and take out containers. Really seedy. Will never stay here again.”

• I and those in my travel party particularly liked the view of the ocean from our private balcony.
• We did not like having to wait for our room in order to check in. We had to come back a few times in order to do so.

“The bathroom was small and the furnishings were basic. On the bright side, the beds were comfortable and the view was beautiful. Also, this hotel is much cleaner and better maintained than most other myrtle beach hotels. If you want a clean, simple place to stay while you spend your vacation outside - then this hotel is a good choice. I¿m still searching for a "luxury" myrtle beach hotel.”
